MasterBlaster,

Having just experienced this feature for the first time on my new Tab S8, I feel this is Huge. Now, if we can get this on a foss keyboard, it will be awesome!

MasterBlaster,

It’s so heartwarming to see a non-cynical take on something on the Internet. Thanks!

MasterBlaster,

Obviously, the assumption is one spouse supplies all the money, housing, trips, etc., while the other receives adoration and gifts. It’s the huge social stereotype some of us are expected and/or forced to play out.

MasterBlaster,

I set up the mount points in configuration as dynamic NFS volumes and added Bookmarks to nautilus. You can get to the volume either with cd command or right-click -> terminal here. You can shut down the NAS and only lose the share, which returns when the system goes online.

This is much better than WbDAV, which is fine for simple sharing or for devices that can’t handle NFS easily like Android phones.

MasterBlaster,

I have the same experience. People think I’m wacko for caring about this stuff.

Bottom line: you can’t fix stupid, and almost everyone is stupid.

MasterBlaster,

We are 90% there already. In many states, solar panels and usage have extra taxes. Most solar installations are grid tied and electricity sale prices to the company are fixed at a small fraction of their sale prices from those companies. Worse, if power goes out, you can’t use solar to stay electrified because electricity would leak out and potentially electrocute nearby line men.

MasterBlaster,

Ssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhocking!

MasterBlaster,

There are racks you can buy in the kitchen section of many stores designed for this very task. Have you tried any kitchen stores? Bed Bath & Beyond was the obvious choice here in the USA, but they went bust this summer.

MasterBlaster,

I periodically scan through my app list and delete the ones for which I don’t have a definitive need. Virtual decluttering.

You could bookmark this list of open source alternatives you can review when you have need of something.

MasterBlaster,

You are getting nothing but angry pushback, so I am here to let you know that at least one lemmite agrees with you.

I don’t know if ACAB is a disinformation campaign by Russia and China, but I do know they have been stoking the division here in many ways on social media, so I feel you are not “fringe/crazy” for wondering if it is true.

I know a few police and fire responders, who are Latino and are stand up individuals. They are not racist.

We must strive to differentiate the fiends from the people who only want to do the right thing and resist the easy trap of generalization.

MasterBlaster,

I had that problem, but I never thought it was ADHD. It turned out to be sleep apnea, and I had it for a while undiagnosed. I was 32 when I found out and not overweight.

I get the effect you describe when I am doing highly social things like parties, festivals, or public entertainment events. I attribute this to introversion rather than ADHD.

MasterBlaster,

Is there no bookmark/favorite button on your app?

MasterBlaster,

And here i thought it was just a funny movie all hese years!

MasterBlaster,

1% revenue support from Government is “state affiliated”? In that case every single media outlet is state affiliated by virtue of their tax breaks.

MasterBlaster,

Okay, then every American who gets grants, welfare, or discounted education. Funding is funding. If you think 1% equals communism, or crushes integrity, there is no hope for you.

MasterBlaster,

Reject and return all tax breaks, deductions or rebates - or you are affiliated with them and thus are impossible to trust. Oh, and return the government money you accepted for public secondary education. You government shill!

MasterBlaster,

It’s what you can’t see that is problematic. The surveillance is turned up to 11. Ba-dum Tish!

MasterBlaster,

Rice goes with almost everything. I always make “too much” and use it over the next two days. If I don’t feel like having some as a side dish, I make rice pudding and have it for desert.

MasterBlaster,

About half way through, I scrolled to the bottom to see the original publisher. Ii an disappointed it was not identified, but I see it is parody.

Honestly, I don’t know what it is parodying, bit I am dissapointed it minized a serious problem

Yes, the comical effort to show solidarity is cringe, and I’m sure it’s not honest, but the problem is real. It needs to be recognized and resolved with earnest, not pandered to and eventually panned by disingenuous players.

Look beyond the bullshit, assess the problem, and f’ing solve it. Don’t dismiss it because certain entities seek to benefit from it. Civilization is at steak.

MasterBlaster,

Yeah, autocorrectiom is a bitch.

MasterBlaster,

I toyed with i2p several years ago. Back then it was very frustrating - both slow as a snail and hard to find working, non-darknet resources.

I recently saw a c++ implementation, so I will toy with it again.

For now, a VPN is enough for me to be safe, and I can get speeds up to 15 MB on popular torrents.

MasterBlaster,

You use a VPN, right?

MasterBlaster,

I saw that, I will give it a shot. Several other things I tried did not work so I am expecting it to fail, unfortunately.

MasterBlaster,

It did not, but thanks for the effort!

MasterBlaster,

I did that one before I wrote. It told me it was taken and expected another, so that no longer works. I’ll try the other one mentioned here and report back.

MasterBlaster,

Agreed. This is why I took the time to get comfortable with vscode. Still, in real world business development sometes it takes visual studio, and that is an excellent example.

MasterBlaster,

That did not work on 10.

MasterBlaster,

[email protected] is already a Microsoft account. Please try a different email address”, so it doesn’t work.

MasterBlaster,

No. It does not like Firefox for Linux.

MasterBlaster,

6-8 is not a choice I am given. The installer for Windows 10 is a “multi-release” package. It contains all the distributions, so I cannot download the “pro” version or the “home” version.

MasterBlaster,

I’m not given the option. I’m going to have to wipe the drive and start over. I will try using Rufus this time.

MasterBlaster,

That is what I am using, however I had to find a way to open it when I click on a teams meeting link. After I did that, it would not get past the initial splash. I eventually found that I have to hit CTRL-R one to three times to get it to go to the meeting. See, it took lots of searching and head scratching to get it working.

MasterBlaster,

I’d rather not be forced to link everything that happens on this installation directly to me.-

MasterBlaster,

I installed the most recent installer from microsoft. There’s only one and it covers all the versions.

Earlier today I managed to get it to work by turning off Wi-Fi in BIOS. I’m going to put a brief writeup as an edit to my original message sometime in the next several hours.

MasterBlaster,

It does not. Once installed, I can “upgrade” by entering my license key. I will write the details as an edit soon.

MasterBlaster,

Next time, I will use that.

MasterBlaster,

I’d rather not risk a hacked install if I can. I’ll keep this in my back pocket, though.

MasterBlaster,

I just updated my post with resolution thanks you you and others. I had to turn off Wi-Fi at the hardware level.

MasterBlaster,

Neither of these worked. I know now that was because the installer had installed itself on the boot partition with the Wi-Fi info, so I could not go back and force it to continue without a connection. Plus, all addresses I chose it just told me it’s already used, try another.

MasterBlaster,

This one got me to track down why it never asked for Wi-Fi after I interrupted and restarted the machine. The moment I entered it, the info was saved on the boot partition. Once it tricked me, there was no obvious way out. I turned off Wi-Fi in the BIOS, and that worked.

MasterBlaster,

It did not. Whoops - I already answered this :)

MasterBlaster,

ok, thanks. I’ll check it out, though I solved my problem this time around.

MasterBlaster,

If I went through the work to wipe the partitions, it would doubtlessly have the same effect as turning off wifi in bios. That would have been my next attempt. It’s more work than disa Ling wifi at the bios level.

MasterBlaster,

Here in the USA there is apparently a glut of unemployed developers as up to 300k were let go between last November and July.

I’m typically competing with over 200 applicants, so they probably just keep interviewing until they get exactly what they want. Plus, ageism.

MasterBlaster,

30 years ago, this was true, but now one has to have a high paying job to afford even that! I’ve seen over $350k for such a home.

MasterBlaster,

While many devices don’t have ROMs built for them, any recent device should work with a GSI.

I just bought a tab s8, as I know Andy yan’s LineageOS 20 works on it from other users’ reports. I currently use it on my old tab 10.8 2019.
