dtrain,

This is a home NAS with one user (myself) on this Linux client. Other clients will be Windows for other users.

My NAS user has full rw permissions across the NAS shares (but not admin privs). I’m not super comfortable with this config as it strike me as too permissive to mount on the home directory. Would love to hear better approaches.

Yes, there is a chance the NAS can be down when booting the Linux pc.

dtrain,

Thank you!

dtrain,

If I mount it in the file manager, how do I reference that location in the terminal to say do copy operations to it?

dtrain,

dtrain,

No questions is unfathomable.

Not when your client has chronic diarrhea of the mouth

Samsung joins Google in RCS shaming Apple (www.theverge.com)

Samsung has released a new video in support of Google’s #GetTheMessage campaign which calls for Apple to adopt RCS or “Rich Communication Services,” the cross-platform protocol pitched as a successor to SMS that adopts many of the features found in modern messaging apps… like Apple’s own iMessage.

dtrain,

That’s framed as if google is this generous corporation that’s all “Peace, love and Agnostic apps” rather than to farm data from a competitor’s users.

Google wants all the users data regardless of the platform they’re on.

If I click into a post, then the link, then try to back out, it goes back to the post and then goes back to my last position in the feed, as expected. But after clicking a link directly from the home/all feed, when I try to back out it no longer keeps its place, instead jumping back to the top of the feed. Using the voyager app...

dtrain,

I came here seeking an answer to this as well. I’m experiencing it on iOS.

Even happened in wefwef

dtrain,

Yeah the energy to write that was not worth the payout

dtrain,

Blocked my first user on Lemmy!

dtrain,

Exactly what I was thinking.

Seems like other devs would love the amount of freedom and time to build a massive RPG and praise it instead of taking petty swipes at it.

dtrain,

Didn’t watch but Likely a combination of: Heat, diminishing oil demand/supply, crown prince.

dtrain,

You don’t have to defend yourself. Parent just doesn’t get that not everyone likes the same things.

I’m in the same boat as you, if I can’t find any redeemable characters, I check out and turn off.

dtrain,

Yeah, works great for me. I’m an iOS user and seems very much like a continuation of the design philosophy of Apollo
