This post is mostly for me to look at alternatives. I currently subscribe to Trade. But recently I’ve been hearing about their bad practices like sending packages with wrong weight, or paying very little money to the roasters....
I use Kick Back Coffee (in the UK) I have used them for about 6 months, but recently I have switched to try out Origin Coffee (also UK) on their weekly subscription, so far (3 weeks in) I’m enjoying it very much, I still go to Kick Back Coffee, but as they are local, I pop in and get it in person.
You would only likely get caught if you either do something stupid or someone tells Microsoft or Adobe with evidence, even then, the process to grass on them is a ballache, so if someone does actually take the time to do it, then you must have pissed them off so bad you might deserve it.
Why not use FOSS alternatives, or at least say you do?
If your stealing assets and IP, its just a matter of when you get caught, not if.
Im looking for a flashcard for my '89 Gameboy and stumbled upon the Everdrive-GB cartridges. The x3 is about 20 bucks cheaper than the x5. What am I missing out on if I get the cheaper one? Only thing I wanna do is to play a few homebrew gameboy games.
Honestly, the ezflash jr is the cheaper option and has some amazing fatures, although the project seems to have been abandoned, they are selling the cart still, the beta FW let’s the RTC to work.
Hi Pixel 8 and 8 pro users, how has your experience with the new line of phones been so far? I’m still rocking a pixel 6 pro, and don’t intend on upgrading this year; however, as a pixel nerd, I am curious about how the new phone is holding up? Has there been any noticeable improvements or compromises compared to your last...
I have a Pixel 8 with GrapheneOS. No complains from me, battery lasts a couple of days. Phone does what it needs. Camera is amazing for a point and shoot.
I know this is controversial, but it was £13 and came with a bunch of filter papera, they dont fit as well as the ligit aeropress ones, bhy they work fine....
Im putting the bit with the rubber end in the hole and then pushing it all the way in, this makes the good stuff come out, and it all goes down my throat.
GrapheneOS is such a staple for me now. Been waiting for it to be released for the Pixel 8 since I got the phone at launch… it doesn’t have the annoying search bar or the unmovable widget telling you the weather… Regardless of the security and privacy it offers… And its just pretty.
Its insanely easy, the hardest part is putting the phone into fastboot and installing the USB drivers on windows. Then its just click buttons on the WebUI and pressing the buttons you’re told to. The whole process takes about 10 mins.
Check out some YouTube videos on it, its the same process for any pixel (its also the same process for CalyxOS if you want microG)
“You can use all the other features of Google Pay on GrapheneOS, just not NFC contactless card payments. It’s unlikely that will change. You can make NFC contactless card payments through your bank’s app, if they happen to provide their own implementation, as opposed to relying on Google Pay.”
You still have the benefit of Google not having unrestricted access to all corners of the device. You can still install google apps and then lock them down to only have access to what is required.
This just strengthens the argument to install privacy/security first operating systems like CalyxOS and GrapheneOS. I don’t was a phone that’s more a service subscription than it is hardware. I have the pixel 8 and didn’t get the pro due to the offloading to Google servers for some “features”.
Just waiting for GrapheneOS to be released for the 8… Until then, I’m sitting uncomfortable knowing my phone is uploading telemetry to Google servers…
Well, yes, however, installing GrapheneOS may mean not having access to “features” which were part of the marketing for the phone… Which begs the question around what are you paying for? To me, it’s like you are paying for a product and also for services. Although the p8 and p8p both have 7 years of support, I wonder if that extends to features and services that are cloud based?
Yea, Google features are very anti privacy, it’s funny how it’s still one of the most secure phones on the market. I got the pixel 8 for the fact its going to be supported with GrapheneOS, and get 7 years of security updates.
Yea I was tempted for a second to get it, but there was a comment that it “should” be possible to upgrade to the released version when available, I don’t want to have to mess around in the event that it’s not. So I’m just going to wait a week or so.
For the 8 it should have a strap on the back like the 4a 5g’s case, don’t care about it for 8 pro I’m fine with say, white lines on the case if it’s magsafe, but no extravagant patterns
i use windows because its the only os i know how to use. i want to get into things like torrenting because free stuff is cool but im afraid to. ive heard of tails os, a os that boots from a flash drive, is that worth checking out or should i stick with windows?...
Hey everyone, I’ve been excited for the pixel 8 lineup for quite a while and followed every leak that came through. And now that pre-orders come bundled with a watch, I’m really tempted to place one. But here in the UK, the prices feel especially crushing. So my question is, is it worth getting this bundle now or wait for a...
I’ve pre ordered the Pixel 8 (with free ear buds pro) I’m coming from a pixel 5 which is now EOL as it won’t be getting any security updates. Look on Carphone warehouse for the cheapest options, ID are significantly cheaper than the competition (and carphone warehouse seem to be cheaper than going direct)
Vice Admiral Stirling, please can you explain why you have been tormenting over 1000 episodes of a cartoon called “the one price” and from a Russian website? You understand that you are on a Vanguard class submarine and are commander of the fleet?
How is not important at this stage, you need to deal with the threat, its possible they have access to your whole PC, files, network, everything (they may have made copies too)
Either you clicked on something or installed something spurious. Or they are on your network and they have access to your PCs directory. - the weakest link in any network are the users, think about what happened, what could have caused it and that’s your solution for it to not happen again (what did you install, what did you click on? etc…)
Change all WiFi passwords (disable that shitty easy connect WPS thing). disconnect your PC from any network, back up important files format all drives, reinstall OS.
Do you use a coffee subscription? Which one?

How do companies know if I use cracked software or assets for my personal gig?
For context, I want to run a small personal gig (offering stuff on Patreon). Nothing too fancy....
Should I get a Everdrive-GB X3 or X5 for my Gameboy
