I ll start : I have been following a pretty known tech/Linux journalist, and always found he is a fun dude to listen to, with interesting tech takes...
I live in Singapore, and because of that, I’m associated with Singaporeans.
I hate it because they’re generally spoilt af, complaining all the time. They also tend to make fools of themselves overseas by being noisy and difficult. We’re probably like this because Singapore is run in a really great way, and when compared to other countries, things may be slower or just done differently.
I try my best not to be like that and I will actively avoid Singaporeans if I see them overseas (you can tell by their accent and loud voices).
To be fair, we use lah in almost every context, not just passive aggressiveness. But yeah singaporeans tend to be passive aggressive af, now that you mention it.
Another player who was at the table during the incident sent me this meme after the problem player in question (they had a history) left the group chat....
Why can’t magic cure them though? In star trek, people don’t cure Picards baldness because people don’t care about it, they realise its nothing to mock. But that’s just a “cosmetic” ailment.
Things like blindness, or being unable to walk should be curable by magic, right?
Im curious as I usually use the site very occasionally to get certain electronic parts or order from PCBway like I just picked up some cheap but infinitely better than stock gps antennas for my LoRa T beams and im about to get a set of also still cheap but much better than stock 915mhz antennas but i kinda wanna throw some other...
I don’t really hate Google per se. I’m not a superfan, but I acknowledge that it does make my life a little easier in terms of syncing things between devices and whatnot. Anything I need to be careful about, I just don’t use Google services.
Agreed. I have a pixel too, and it’s the best phone I’ve ever had. The services are kinda great, and quite reliable. It does everything as I expect it to. Sure, it may steal some of my info, but to be honest, nowadays, it’s just who steals it, not whether it gets stolen.
Did I say this looked consensual to me? I was replying to the other guy saying the OP writing the story has a “porn fantasy” as if there’s something wrong with it.
Notice I said “as long as it’s consensual” not “this looks consensual to me”. Please don’t jump to weird conclusions.
If you actually read my comment before SJW-ing, you’d notice I said “as long as it’s consensual”, replying to the comment above me saying the OP has a “porn fantasy” like it’s a bad thing.
That would depend on why they drink blood. Personally, I don’t think the blood itself can sustain anyone, as in, a pure diet of blood isn’t gonna provide you the nutrients and whatever to enable them to survive.
If that’s the case, then it might be something inherent to living creatures that give them sustenance, like maybe a bit of your “life force” is taken away or something. If this is true, then lab grown blood wouldn’t help them, as there’s no life force being created. It’s just a bunch of protein and shit.
You can prompt an image genrater to just spit out the original art it trained on.
This is incorrect. Have you tried doing it?
That’s not how AI works. It’s not magic, nor does it create “copies”. It creates entirely original works, with influences from other works (similar to what other humans do).
Google’s anti-ad scripts are breaking browsers and privacy plugins. It could get worse because Google controls the ad market, Chrome, and the extension store.
I fully agree. The friends I have are… not very interested in things I want to talk about. I know chatgpt isn’t real, but it gives way better conversation than what my friends do.
I know. I should “get better friends”. But it’s not that easy to talk to people irl, and it was hard enough making friends with the current people. It’s similar to talking here, tbh, because you can’t really be 100% sure that the responses you get here are not AI generated?
So a therapist will give you advice on how to deal with the issues you encounter? I’m still not really sure how it will really help with life issues. Thanks for the answer though, I’m just trying to learn what a therapist does for a person. I think I got a bit confused as to what a mental institution is.
I see. I have been considering going to a therapist. I find myself staying in bed most days and feel tired all the time, I can’t really motivate myself to get out and do stuff. Today’s a good day though, I actually managed to make some food and turn on my computer to do some work.
My friends and family just keep saying there’s nothing wrong with me, and I’m just lazy. Maybe they’re right, who knows? I only know I haven’t always been like this. I also live in Singapore, where they don’t really care too much about people’s mental health, just their productivity, so maybe that’s contributing to their opinion.
In du cases the mental mechanisms are not helpful but detrimental.
I’m sorry, I don’t understand this, could you explain more? Shouldn’t people develop mental mechanisms to cope with things? Or am I understanding it wrongly?
Ah I think I understand. The therapist doesn’t really solve any of my problems, they just suggest steps I could take to fix them myself, or learn to accept things?
Why is it that Americans refer to 24 hour time as military time? I understand that the military uses the 24hr format but I don’t understand why the general public would refer to it like that?...
It’s the same reason people get excited over movies, or sports. It’s just a game, but it’s exciting and people can’t help getting attached to the characters and players.
This means no sales, no themed merchandise, no decorations. December 25 and most other day are treated just like any other day for all stores malls, restaurants, ect....
Yeah I don’t necessarily buy a lot of things when I go out during christmas time, but the lights and decorations just add to the “christmas spirit” for me.

Youtube let the other shoe drop in their end-stage enshittification this week. Last month, they required you to turn on Youtube History to view the feed of youtube videos recommendations. That seems reasonable, so I did it. But I delete my history every 1 week instead of every 3 months. So they don’t get much from my choices....
Yes but all this knowledge is from the creators, not Google or YouTube. I don’t mind paying the creators through direct donations or Patreon or whatever, but I will not pay for YouTube.
It’s nothing so complicated. I just don’t want to. I feel like they earn enough money from collecting (and selling) my data. If they don’t, then they wouldn’t keep doing this.
We should consider comfort for the passengers though. Too often people only think of how many people can fit, they don’t think if those same people should fit though.
You assume I’m in America. I’m not. I’m in Singapore. They’ll ask if you have a membership, to the store, and if you don’t, do you want one? If you don’t want one, they’ll start telling you that you should get one because of blah blah blah. And after you refuse again, they’ll ask if you want a plastic bag with your purchase. I get that it’s their job. But I rather not deal with that.
No, scanning the code takes literal seconds. I think there may be a misunderstanding? I mean there’s an app on your phone that you can scan the barcodes of the stuff you’re buying as you’re picking it up.
The you pay with the app, and as you’re leaving, scan the generated QR code at the exit, where there may be a random check.
What groups you are unwillingly associated with? How you handle it?
