Sundiver by Davin Brin.

This was a re-read. All I really remembered from 30ish years ago was enjoying it. It aged pretty well. Yes, the unconscious sexism made me roll my eyes. My favorite example? It costs a lot to bring colonists to settlements outside our solar system, so let's send pregnant women and have them just drop the babies off, thereby diversifying the gene pool! The solution is both ridiculous and elegant in its simplicity.

#nanowrimo Day 4 was a little tough. I felt exhausted, but I continued with my writing with the idea of taking a break the next day...

#NaNoWriMo Day 3.

I wrote my #scifi The Closed Tunnel until midnight. When I came out of the café, I saw a truck crossing the street... and it started to rain...

Sign? 👀 Nah, just autumn😄

Day 2 of my was quite productive. After a hard first day of writing & researching for my book The Closed Tunnel, I was able to write freely based on the curated material.

I suppose is one of the hardest parts of creating . I don't trust the first or even the fourth source I see on the web. My background in physics and the industry helps me to at least have an idea if an article is crap or not. 😄 @scifi @bookstodon

Hi Steve, nice to meet you in the Fediverse.
Unfortunately my author site is currently under reconstruction after a provider change and the conversion to Joomla5. However, my novels of the NEBULAR series can be found in almost all common eBook stores, in German, French, English, and recently also in Italian, Spanish and Dutch translation. At the moment, the first 42 novels and 11 anthologies are still bound at Amazon and available for Kindle Unlimited, but by the end of the year I will release them from the contract and offer them again in all stores. Currently I have 75 novels published (an Addition of three more as a spin-off) and I am about to publish the next regulär one shortly. Some examples for my novels, attached.

Why do I love my ? Not just because I can read 1-handed, though that's critical. When I am on holiday far from home with long passages of passenger travel ahead, I have a diverse library at my fingertips, as my "currently reading" list @thestorygraph shows
Regency Romance, Golden Age style locked room mystery, indigenous Māori/Pasifika shorts, physics popsci and however one categorises @scalzi 😁 @bookstodon

After years of being an archived state, it would seem that SF Signal, a bastion of SF online for many years (and with the Hugo awards to prove it), is no more. John DeNardo really has finally GAFIATED.

Archive dot org has SOME but not all of the archives of SF Signal. Much appears lost.

The heart of this collection is an excoriating and hilarious satirical novella about the post-war American comics industry, but my favourite was ‘Hypothetical Lizard’, a stunningly beautiful queer secondary-world fantasy.

I’ve #read the #anthology Adventures in Bodily Autonomy, edited by Raven Belasco. This collection of short stories “exploring reproductive rights in fantasy, science fiction & horror” supports NARAL, which has since been renamed Reproductive Freedom For All. My favorites were Pod Rendezvous by K Ibura and Bullet Point by Elizabeth Bear. #fantasy #sciencefiction #books #reading @bookstodon
