@Gords@bookstodon I have no idea where Blue Mars is, though I noticed it has gone missing too.
I'm posting for a used books shop, that's what an Antikvariat is in Swedish.
One of our semi-regular customers often comes with stuff like this to sell, and since I like Science fiction and fantasy I'm always having lots of fun going through it.
I’m disappointed in Christopher Paolini. Both books in the Fractalverse series turn into a long slog of misery and character torture. I don’t want to slog through upwards of 1/3rd of the book just being depressed, harmed, and mangled characters.
To Sleep in a Sea of Stars and Fractal Noise have a lot of interesting ideas. But they don’t carry the story. I can’t recommend his work anymore. In fact I actively advise you to avoid it. I don’t know if he’s trying to be dark and gritty, or if he’s just in a deep dark place, but it’s ugly, near saw level torture porn.
@BabblingGeek i tried to sleep in a sea of stars and it was quickly a DNF bc of bad writing. it's a shame that someone can get so far bc of who their parents know when they aren't even skilled at what they do.
@awenspark@bookstodon Tender is the Flesh was a book that absolutely wrecked my mental well-being for a week or two, but also I went out of my way to recommend to others after reading.
Loved to be horrified by it. Still think about that experience years later.
The seventeenth chapter of my hard sci-fi space opera is released! The crew escapes the glubb-enn crossfire, and enters a system property of the Yectkogg corporate empire. The consequences of seeking help from rabid capitalists ensue.
This really is the last of this spurt of releases. We are going back to weekly releases (on Saturdays). The spam is over. Sorry yall for hammering the hashtags.

Remote Control is another one of my favorite Okorafor works. It's a novella, and has more love and klindness between the people than in some of her other works, such as Noor.
It's the first picture of the new Arboreality in the wild! The new version has a silky matte cover, gold foil title text, and aged and distressed Ursula K Le Guin Prize and Philip K Dick awards medallions + more!
