I started playing with the mod that increased party size. It’s an awesome experience, but it makes this issue even worse. Thank the gods for quick teleporting - although sometimes somebody also gets left behind then!
It does nothing except setting the party size cap to 16. You can literally bring everyone, and a couple extra!
This does make the game quite a bit easier, since you just have additional fighters without any downsides. Levelling etc. also stays the same. But that’s fine for me, since I’ve already done my normal playthrough, and this way you get pretty much all character interactions. It’s non-stop banter!
No, it’s a bug, you pretty much have to do a manual save, then restart the game with that save, and it should fix it. Someone posted the work around in the BG3 Steam Forums.
As others in the thread have mentioned it gets annoying when one party member just gives up crossing over.
Here’s a neat trick to get them over without selecting them (turn based or ungrouping first etc) -
While having the same character selected (the one that you jumped over), Toggle G (Ungroup) and quickly regroup again. This will reactivate the pathing for the left behind member.
Just make sure you are relatively close to the jumping point though. Also doesn’t work if there are two consecutive jumps between you and the separated member
I find jumping pathing to be very glitched. I always have to manually get at least one person over a gap that they’re capable of jumping, but they just won’t for some reason.
And of course when you switch to that character everyone else jumps back over to where that character is, and then one of them stays behind after manually jumping the stuck character. It’s annoying that you have to ungroup them, jump, then regroup. As a result I try to jump as little as possible.
Exactly the same for me. But of course, some of the levels have unavoidable jumps, which is how I accidentally left Gale alone on a rock in the astral plane for thirty minutes once. He didn’t seem to mind. I like to imagine that he gets (as he often says,) “lost in thought.” I mean, we’re probably running past a lot of very interesting things while we adventure!
Norbytes Script Extender as well as Mod Fixer seem to be broken. Since all my other mods rely on them one way or another my save game is basically dead until they get updated.
Honestly I’m kinda bummed, I waited with my favorite quest (and resolution of a romance questline) for my free weekend and now this… oh well, I have another free weekend coming up in December, so for now I guess I’ll just watch BG3 YouTube content and eat dirt or whatever :P
Is there an actual use to that skill during combat? Genuinely curious if I’m actually missing out on using Gale as a nuke for massive damage or if it’s just a straight up “I lose” button.
Oh no, it’s a literally nuke. I used it once outta curiosity, and…well you can guess what happened lol
I had a thought today tho like narratively, it’s a big ol’ “I goofed up and am ready to end it all” button, but i wondered if it was feasible to have my party survive that somehow in gameplay. Just something to file away for latter, ya know
Well, I got super curious back in Act 1 and remembered him telling me once about his original plan for when it became too unstable to handle anymore, i.e. to find the deepest, loneliest part of the Underdark and wait. So I took him down to the lowest point of the forge that I could find, slaughtered him, and then made haste to whatever point of the map was both topside and the furthest away I could possibly get before continually long resting, just to test if it actually would go off in-game or whether that threat was set dressing.
Nah, it still insta-kills you when the clock runs down. Just completely wipes the entirety of the coast, I assume. He mentions around the end of Act 2/beginning of Act 3 that he doesn't want to kill you and hopes you could find someplace safe away from him when he does so, but judging by that, there's nowhere far enough that you could possibly run. Fucker's "glorious sacrifice" is going to block out the sun for years.
Wait, with the multiplayer change to the Act 1 party… are non-host avatars supposed to be able to romance? Because that’s definitely something I would like to see fixed if that’s the case (my fiancée wants to smooch on Karlach so bad and I didn’t know about that issue when we started, so I stupidly made myself player 1)
Hopefully this fixes of our crossplay. Played with PC and Mac over GOG and at some point the Mac couldn’t connect and crashed on loading 100 % of the time.
We now play with a PC and an old PC, but ofc the experience is a lot better on the Mac compared to the old PC.
Maybe someone has the same problem and a possible fix.
