Gimme a DLC that pushes the lvl cap to 16 and picks up on the threads that Karlach and Wyll end on. Then follow that with a lvl 20 Wrath of the Righteous style DLC starting with Lae Zels ending and continuing into the party fucking murdering all the gods for being self obsessed assholes. The Dead Three are obvious candidates after the Vlaakith, and then Mystra and Shar and even Selune can get it too.
With such a complicated game, it makes sense to get a few patches out before hard-core. We no longer live in the Era of games releasing in a state where fair, fully expected hardcore deaths are the majority.
Big agree. I had my fair share of needing to save scum because the game bugged out e.g. characters stuck inside walls or objects, actions not executing properly, etc.
Hopefully by the time they release the patch with this new difficulty option the game will have enough polish that it can be played in true ironman fashion.
I’ve gotta recommend you listen to the High Rollers BG3 D&D episodes. The High Rollers DM runs a short campaign for the voice actors, who play as their characters. High Rollers Baldur’s Gate 3 Cast Play on Spotify
Yeah, Jennifer English is a treasure! So is the rest of the cast, especially Samantha Béart who plays Karlach 🥰
Btw, did you know that the voice actors did the motion capture too? Did you also know that they did an excellent D&D one-shot playing their characters from the game?
Neil Newbon (Astarion) does as well. He once raided Devora’s Twitch just as she considered killing Astarion ::: spoiler Astarion’s backstory, although it’s already revealed in the character select screen with a stake. Instead she opted to bite everyone. :::
From one god to another. SH cannot be saved. Selune let her daughter suffer endlessly and has her followers risk their kids’ safety but putting them in a forest at night. I wish there was a way other than selunite or sharran path. :(
What happened to Shart is a feature, not a bug. The gods sow discord between their followers so they are too busy killing each other to unite against the gods. Eat the gods!
This is a tradition in many cultures. Even today how many people go after high school on a journey somewhere, travelling to discover themselves and the world? In the past the army service also took this role to make men from children.
I’ve had some trouble getting my modded save to load at all, to load completely, to play dialogue correctly, and not to crash when fast traveling. Even after purging all my mods I’ve had problems. What I’ve learned: Don’t use the lari launcher. Just use the exe from your game files, or the dx11 exe if that doesn’t work (although for me skipping the launcher already solved my problem). If you’re using a mod manager you can launch over those as well. Larian will probably hotfix over the next few days, but until then this is a nice workaround.
!It’s heavily implied by the game, although not outright stated, that Withers is in fact Jergel himself. He is THE Scribe of the Dead and the one who ascended Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul to godhood in the first place. Thus is ultimately responsible for all the calamity befalling the Sword Coast and it’s the reason he is helping you to begin with. !<
i think u can’t cast speak with the dead on the undead because i tried to in the shadow-cursed lands and it didn’t allow me to, so i assume the same applies to withers.
Patch 4 broke Vulkan. Try launching on DirectX; it launches for me, but has horrible graphics quality. (Pixelated shading, shear edges of hair and plants.)
You don’t need the launcher. You can run bg3_dx11.exe directly. You will need DXVK, of course, though that’s already present if you’re running it from Steam.
