I used to work for a computer repair place long, long ago and I was on the laptop repair line.

I went to unscrew a laptop but for some reason my screwdriver wasn’t catching the screw… a coworker took the screwdriver and put more force into and there was sickening crunch that wasn’t hardware…

He removed the screw along with an impaled dead baby cockroach…

But this isn’t the end. Oh no.

When that screw came out with its buddy they had friends.

A lot of friends.

Flooding out of that tiny screwhole like something from a god damn horror movie.

We bagged that up and sent it back to the customer. It did not get repaired that day to say the least.

I got a 2023 Hyundai Elantra Limited with all the options for $27,000 earlier this year and that was brand new. The standard/base Elantra was several thousand less. There was another model below the Elantra for even less. I also didn’t haggle and took the price as marked, so who knows. Perhaps someone more charismatic than myself could have done better on it.

I still over paid, don’t get me wrong. The same car with all the features before Covid would have probably been around $22-23k.

Pretty sure it’s normal to put your own cream cheese on… But it would have been nice if they’d at least cut the bagel, I guess.

…It really does. Especially with the amount of word play Gintama uses frequently (Kanji play in this case? Not sure if it’s a ‘they just look similar written down’ thing or actually a verbal play too. I won’t pretend to know the word for hemorrhoids in Japanese LMAO)

Man, I miss Gintama.

I think this is very much an ‘each to their own’ thing.

I have a Loth Cat from Star Wars on my arm I got at Star Wars Celebration 2019 and so I get warm fuzziness and memories of that time when I see it there. It was a fun experience I got to have with my family… and a very cute little critter too.

Admittedly I’ve been asked many times if it was a Pokémon LOL

I’ll give that a try! I’ve never taken a spore print before.

Is there any way to preserve a spore print once you have one on paper? I feel like that could look pretty neat to make the spore print, write down the ID, date and location it was found for a neat sort of artwork/learning tool.

We just had a lot of rain yesterday so I’ll keep an eye out.

Mushrooms, mushrooms everywhere!

We get a fair amount in our yard from time to time - I think due to the old stump that used to be there. It’s mostly gone now.

These have just been the biggest ones I’ve seen so far not to mention they were a decent way away from the stump so they stood out to me.

A lot of people also have two phones due to less dire circumstances than those listed here or criminal related things - like people with work phones.

When there’s an alert (usually Amber alerts) late at night having four cell phones screeching and awakening you from the depths of sleep is panic inducing. My husband and I both have personal phones and work phones and it’s jarring to say the least when they all go off at once.

Not 100% true.

I never finished college and have a pretty nice IT job now.

Admittedly I had a lot of shit jobs before by some luck one of those places I worked at for a couple years had an IT opening. I applied and had somewhat of a reputation for helping out the less technically savvy peeps on my line, went to the interview, answered their questions and got my foot in the door for experience.

It wasn’t a great paying position but eventually I was able to move elsewhere and a couple jobs later I found myself making decent money, better money than some I know that do have college degrees.

I got curious and looked it up.

It actually sounds less crazy in context but like.

Bro, that thief gonna get some kinda karma when they open that bitch…

Honestly part of the benefit of early access is the diverse hardware and diverse playstyles being tested. I’m sure part of BG3’s success was due to them taking feedback and bug reports from the early access players that submitted things and implementing the fixes and changes based on customer feedback. It definitely gives unique insight for the developers while the game is still being made.

Asking for science, naturally.

Leerin’ at the cock while he fondles her Booberts.

Edit: My phone is chaste and pure and edited ‘cock’to cocktail’.

Kentucky is also a fairly low cost of living state which is something to factor in too.

My husband and I combined make waaaaaaay the hell less than 400k a year and we aren’t rich but I’d say we live fairly comfortably here.

Justin Roiland used his ‘Rick and Morty’ fame to pursue young fans, text messages show (www.nbcnews.com)

In the years following the 2013 debut of Adult Swim’s cartoon phenomenon “Rick and Morty,” its star and co-creator Justin Roiland became a titan of the animation and video game industry and a rock star of youth counterculture. His artistic style and caricatures became ubiquitous in cannabis culture, and his career expanded...

I’d say I’m somewhere in the middle too. I also have this tendency to build high mid-tier as my budget allows then ride it for 7 years or so until the games I play start struggling. I just don’t have the money to keep up with the latest and greatest/upgrading every year.

…admittedly since Baldur’s Gate 3 came out I’ve been using my PC as a space heater so take that as you will…

I know a lot of people say it’s learned but I know I’ve been doing it for as long as I can remember and as a kid I initially never did it consciously.

I had adults get on me for ‘giving them a look’ when I was a kid but like… I wasn’t giving that look intentionally… it was just a natural reaction… I mean, usually when I thought something was stupid or it baffled/confused me in some way but I wasn’t intentionally giving ‘nasty looks’…

Honestly if not for the fact that everything is likely rotted to fuck and back, it would actually be really cool in my opinion. But guaranteed that shit is rotted out and would cost way more to fix than it’s worth, which is sad.

I love old buildings, especially ones that look like it probably has some interesting history attached.

I’m just putting it out there that I have finished almost 3 different playthroughs and I would 300% purchase DLC.

If the initial game is a full game and satisfactorily so, I would gladly fork over more money for additional content.

DLC is not inherently bad. It’s just the way most companies have done it is.

What would you put in a meal if wanted something special from each US state?

Late night thought on a road trip in the US and I can’t stop think what an “All American meal with a great from every state” would consist of. Like something that a state is know for being exceptional in from beef to white tail to peaches to oastets to sunflowers to almonds to coffee. Even better it’s something an...

Kentucky also has the Hot Brown and Derby Pie.

Derby pie is delicious.

The wiki someone posted mentions blackberry as the state fruit, which I didn’t know but could definitely see. I have fond memories of picking blackberries outside so grandma could make blackberry cobbler.

As far as drinks go, we also have the Mint Julip and the Oaks Lily, which are basically signature drinks of the Kentucky Derby.

So my 2023 Limited trim Hyundai Elantra is the same way. (And correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure KIA and Hyundai are more or else ‘the same’ at this point? Made by the same people or something?)

I ended up getting one of these: AAWireless 2023 - Wireless Android Auto Dongle - a.co/d/hXeBrWT

It’s not ideal but at least it elimates some of the wire mess and my phone itself isn’t physically tethered any where.

Works pretty solid for me so far.

My solution is for Android but surely there’s something similar for iPhone out there too?

Shouldn’t have to jump through hoops for this, especially for higher end models but here we are…

Cincinnati style chili is the only chili I actually like.

So far my favorite is Blue Ash Chili - I like to go there sometimes when I go to Cinci.

They have really good desserts there too…
