I don’t even like the AITA subreddit. It’s precisely that kind of validation that annoys me the most of a social community. In the case of /r/AITA, it’s just so “on your face”. People rarely will tell the truth about their topics, even when they do, why go so harsh about themselves? Why not ask “Am I wrong here?”, "Am I committing a mistake?, “Will I regret this?” instead of a “Am I the asshole?”. Don’t you think very self-entitled people will come and tell you “fuck yes! YATA”?
Ah, anyway, no, bots that can crosspost from other communities shouldn’t be allowed. We also shouldn’t try to replicate every successful/popular community, especially if it’s a toxic one.
Identify if your insight may be valuable to others. If you already said something, read the room. Listen to yourself carefully, so you don’t repeat or insist on some ideas you already shared. Don’t just stop yourself from participating, instead, think about your message and the recipients: is it worth to share it in that situation, with that specific group of people?
You can make your battery phone last a lot when you are not using the display and disconnect from any networks. You can also have some powerbank around. Emergencies won’t necessarily find you in home or wherever your radio is stored in. You keep your phone with you most of the time, chances are, if an earthquake happens, for example, you’ll have your phone with you. Been there.
Well, that’s surely something to consider, but it’s still not a fact. I wouldn’t even expect that to happen in my country any time soon. I know radio is struggling right now, but I also know I can stream live FM radio stations from all over the world.
In any case, if DAB can replace FM even for emergency use, that’s what I’d want in my phone.
I remember when Proton launched it was like magic playing games like Doom and Nier Automata straight from the Linux Steam client with excellent performance. I do not miss the days of having the Windows version of Steam installed separately.
LMDE 6 has been officially released. The big deal about this is that it’s based on the recently released Debian 12 and also that being based on Debian LMDE is 100% community based....
Oh, no. They consider Ubuntu the best APT base out there, and even after some trouble with Canonical, they insist on basing Mint on Ubuntu. This is a plan B, it came precisely after the differences between Mint and Ubuntu were public, but I can’t find any source of that episode between Canonical and Clemente Lefebvre.
Sid is not a rolling release distro, it’s an unstable distro. If you want a rolling release distro, you want something like Arch Linux, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed or OpenMandriva RR.
Unless you know how to deal with problems, go ahead and install Sid. It shouldn’t be a problem if you already know Linux and Debian specifics.
Debian does not agree. They even warn you about packages with unfulfilled dependencies. In my experience, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed does feel like a finished, polished rolling release distro. Sid breaks sometimes, it’s okay for it to get broken. I don’t know your use case but it did for me, especially with some obscure libraries or with very specific versions of scientific ones. It’s not semantics only, Sid is fundamentally designed as an unstable distribution, not as a rolling release one.
But I insist, if it works for you as a rolling release distro, it’s great. I just feel the obligation to warn the others what’s the intention behind Sid.
True, but it’s not like Ubuntu is this unique distribution with very peculiar software. Most of the time, no matter which distro I use, the best reference to solve any problem is the Arch wiki.

Not necessarily. You can stay in Debian but point your repos to the sid/unstable distribution. They will have GNOME 45 soon, but it’s a one-way ticket.
It’s really common and actually explained in the Debian Wiki. Also, as others have mentioned, a stabler choice would be to use Debian testing/trixie, which will get GNOME 45 after a week or so in Debian sid/unstable.
Finally, the “one way ticket” is not really that. You can always wait for your testing or sid Debian OS to stabilize by managing your sources list in time. For example, by using “trixie” instead of “testing” in your sources lists, as long as they are all official repos, when Trixie launches as the Debian Stable distribution, you will be using Debian Stable. If you choose to use “testing” in your sources lists, you will always stay with a Debian Testing distribution.
You may also want to check the sexual-asexual realm of possibilities. Watching sex, wanting to have sex, pursuing the act of sex and actually having it are very different things that may or may not be your cup of tea.

im currently dual booting endevouros with windows, and i have a lot of free/unpartitioned space on my drive. can i install another linux distro alongside endevour and windows? i have a separate home partition as well. do i only keep one linux/grub boot partition? im not too scared of nuking everything but id obv rather not....
My usual setup is two distros, sometimes also Windows. I use one home partition, one swap partition, one EFI partition (Windows creates one in EFI mode) and each OS its own root partition.
Some people won’t recommend sharing a home partition, but it has worked for me for a long time now. Some years ago I’d have an additional data partition, with symlinks from each home folder of each distro for Videos, Documents, Images, etc. Each distro was contained, even home, in the root partition.
Also, you can have several bootloaders in the EFI partition as long as you don’t wipe/format it. Usually, you can choose which one to use in the firmware settings.
Nuevo León, specifically Monterrey, México. It’s basically like Texas, and they are aamof very close to actual Texas. They have this hyperindustrialist mindset. The state wanted BAD to be the place that hosts the next Tesla manufacturing plant, even when they struggle periodically for water.

As a mapper, I prefer Osmand; as a user, OM. Osmand+ is so feature complete and extensible that I’ve used it in so many different ways, even to plan my navigation in the sea. Whereas OM is my go to app to generate routes to walk, something Osmand also does great.
Ah, I had quite the similar experience with Michu. He is even yellow like Louie. We… huh, accept him in our home back in 2011. He really gave us no choice when he laid down, belly up, at our feet. We don’t know his actual age. Sometimes I wonder how was his life prior to living with us, but he was clearly traumatized from living in the streets. Took him like three years to meow.
Lucky guys. Funny, indeed. We did end up with another street cat, but this little fellow, fortunately, didn’t suffer from his time alone. Love to Louie and Mishka, and thank you for sharing.

I don’t know what is Ubuntu rolling-release and I’ve been using Linux for twenty years.
If you’re a beginner, just stick to Linux Mint. If you really need a rolling-release distro, use OpenSUSE Tumbleweed and learn how to install, whatever your choice, the Nvidia drivers from your distro wiki/forums.
I actually despise the way banking has changed. Elder people, barely familiar with making calls from a mobile phone, are expected to use their phone banking app as a security token, to say something that happens every day. And that’s talking about people that can actually afford a mobile phone with internet access.
Jesus Christ. Good for you, I guess. The one year generation is the most innocent comment I’ve read this week. Impressive? They maintain the one mobile phone, and lately a couple of variants, they are still the most profitable company ever, right? I’m not impressed at all.
