griD,

YES

I know my enemies
They’re the teachers who taught me to fight me:
✔ Compromise
✔ Conformity
✔ Assimilation
✔ Submission
✔ Ignorance
✔ Hypocrisy
✔ Brutality
✔ The elite

griD,

That is some gourmet deep-fried shit.

griD,

Drake is a creep.

griD,

You’re right. It does have the same energy to it, doesn’t it? But of course, it also feels like that kind of regression permeates nearly every layer of society now, which is really sad. We should get angry before it’s too late.

griD,

Obviously there a people in charge now who will never understand the Streisand effect. They could have kept it quiet and just… allow… the technical adept users to do their thing. Now, they are the laughing stock and get unwanted attention. Also, from my layman understanding, this shit won’t fly in the EU at all.

Or, to say it differently: This is the best thing to happen to Mozilla in quite a long time and I’m a fan.

griD,

some explanation

To be fair, they used setTimeout() and not thread.sleep() because the latter isn’t possible out of the box in JS ^^

griD,

Don’t cut yourself with that edge!

inb4: “But YT operates at a loss and needs monies”. No. Just no. They deliberately worked at a loss to stifle and kill opposition.

griD,

LGTM, Ship it!

clicks approve

griD,

Uhh, have you watched an actual episode of any Trek series? Or did my sarcasm detectors just fail?
Maybe have to run a level-1 diagnosis on the whole fucking array again :/

griD,

Sure, the society depicted in Star Trek is basically post-scarcity luxury space communism so we do not need propaganda anymore, I agree.

griD,

Phew, don’t have to run that diagnosis after all.

griD,

Jupp. Panzerschokolade == Pervitin == Amphe

griD,

Amazing.

griD,

Personally, I’d use just simple HTML + precompiled CSS in the form of SASS / SCSS. Because modern CSS is actually fun when it’s precompiled :)

griD,

They aren’t the first and they won’t be the last to learn. Another hilarious example was Walmart trying to get into the german market.

griD,

I’d call him Bobby. Little Bobby Tables.

griD,

And I hope we all learned to sanitize our database inputs!

griD,

Space sim Squadron 42 is "feature-complete" and gunning for Starfield's lunch with massive new video (www.rockpapershotgun.com)

Squadron 42 is the single player campaign of Star Citizen, that is supposed to launch as a separate game. It's basically a small portion of Star Citizen, but with a story and ending. I'm still not confident; waited too long for that.

griD,

Ah, the annual whale fracking operation is in full effect.

griD,

Goodbye Youtube and thanks for all the fish (infosec.pub)

Youtube let the other shoe drop in their end-stage enshittification this week. Last month, they required you to turn on Youtube History to view the feed of youtube videos recommendations. That seems reasonable, so I did it. But I delete my history every 1 week instead of every 3 months. So they don’t get much from my choices....

griD,

You’re a freeloader.

Nah, they still have my data to sell.

griD,

Maybe also delete your browser cache in case they flagged you with some cookie or stuff. I had to do that, but this stupid modal was rolled out between me watching 2 videos exactly at midnight. So… YMMV

I totally forgot how terrible a non-ad-free YouTube experience is

So I’ve been using youtube ad blockers since pretty much when ad blocker extensions were first available. Lately though I’ve been getting hit more and more with these messages that YT was sending out every 5 or so videos telling me that adblockers aren’t allowed. No problem, just gotta wait 5 seconds to x it out and then...

griD,

With their personal data obviously.

griD,

Why not just dump the headline into the alt attribute or use aria-, is he stupid? Maybe someone should xcrete the tutorial to him, I don’t have an acc on that shithole.

griD,

Where $currentYear?
Ooook.

griD,

system-ui

ETA: -webkit-text-stroke is meh, doesn’t look clean at all.

griD,

Hab mal bei +69 ein Hochwähli vergeben und es tut mir gar nicht leid!

griD,

Table-based layout, that shit is ancient. We used to build websites this way >20years ago ^^ Mainly because IE was too stupid for anything else.

What games had easy soft locks that prevented you from either progressing or getting a true ending?

The thought came to mind after reading a recent post about Baldurs Gate 3 here but it reminded me of the Japense only PSX game Mizzurna Falls where if you don’t perform a certain action early in the game you are prevented from getting a true ending. While this might not be a traditional soft lock because you can still progress...

griD,

Ask Chris Roberts about this, he knows a way.

griD,

AI is the framework of a new digital economy, not the product.

That is one interesting sentence. Thanks.

griD,

Sehr gut! Dies ist der Fahrschein!

griD,

Wo ist Dr. Vahlen, wenn man sie braucht?

griD,

As ancient internet tradition demands.

griD,

Gibt es hier schon Käfersaften? 🤔

griD,

Hoch mit Dir!

griD,

Exakt. Der Keks war weich :)
