kaffiene,

Why? What was wrong with it?

kaffiene,

I didnt get the impression they were making any definite claims ‘But no one has been able to confirm the cause. “The cause is unknown at the moment,”’

How often to you bail on a half-written post or response?

I have had a tendency since my earliest days on social media where I will get halfway or more through a response, and end up just cancelling it. Sometimes I feel like I’m just being to over the top with snark or otherwise don’t want to be that kind of person, but a lot of the time I’ll decide I just really don’t care...

kaffiene,

Absolutely. Sometimes you know your post isn’t going to do anything worthwhile. Sometimes you’re just being a dick. Sometimes the other person is clearly not going to listen to you. Sometimes your post adds nothing of value. That kind of self reflection is a good thing IMO. I wish more people did it

How will we ever get away from plastics when they are ubiquitous for safety

Plastic seals food, sterile medical implements, medicine, beverages, etc… it’s seems like plastic is used as a way to seal things safely. Post pandemic rising, I see even more. My work used to be have plastic utensils in the cafeteria, for example, an already wasteful thing. Now, post-2020, every fork, knife, and spoon is...

kaffiene,

Start with the easy wins and replace the others as options come available. We don’t have to fix everything at once.

kaffiene,

The biomass of livestock for human consumption vastly outnumbers natural populations.

kaffiene,

Firstly, climate change requires multiple solutions, this is just one of many. Secondly, methane is one of the gasses we can make the most change the quickest with. Thirdly, cow burps contain a lot of methane and it’s pretty easy to reduce that with food supplements . It’s actually pretty clever. Not sure why you’re being so dismissive.

kaffiene,

Or not. Adam Smith - the father of Capitalism recognised the problem of Rent Seeking behaviour.

kaffiene,

Ditto. Literally the only thing out of that franchise that I’ve enoyed

kaffiene,

Not to mention, a hypocrite. What a thing for a multi billionaire to say.

kaffiene,

Samsung. Vodafone (NZ)…

kaffiene,

Don’t wanna think about innocent men women and children been murdered. M’uh gaaaammmez!

kaffiene,

Everything’s political.

kaffiene,

Everything is political. You dont like it - fine. Doesn’t change the facts thou

kaffiene,

Protest is OK just don’t bother anyone too much. Got it. All the major changes in history required a similarly meek and quiet approach.

kaffiene,

So where did Starbucks get it’s used espresso from?

kaffiene,

No surprise that it’s from an anti woke virtue signalling bunch of reactionary conservatives, then

kaffiene,

No they aren’t. The poor get SFA

kaffiene,

Education means doing nothing. It literally is the status quo which we know does not work.

kaffiene,

Their campaign strategist was an “ex” tobacco lobbyist

kaffiene,

Everyone could see that the foriegn buyers tax wasn’t going to work. It wasn’t going to raise enough revenue and was also illegal. It was obvious that something was going to get cut to pay for taxes. It’s not like this wasn’t pointed out ad nauseum during the election

kaffiene,

They are supported by boomers and farmers both of which own property and are happy to flog it off to the highest bidder. They don’t care a jot for the rest of society not having a place to live

kaffiene,

It doesn’t thou. The cost of smoking to the state is fucking massive

kaffiene,

NZ taxes are higher and it doesn’t cover the costs here, either

kaffiene,

And drug addicts not to do drugs. Good idea

kaffiene,

It’s a fucking fact, the amount those tax cuts provide the poor is fuck all.

kaffiene,

You said they’re providing tax cuts for the bottom 3 brackets when the reality is that that don’t make a jot of difference for anyone but that rich. I don’t take an issue with your assertion that that the tax cuts exist, i take exception to you implying that it especially targets the lowest brackets

kaffiene,

Not even comparable. Republicans are in a completely different league

kaffiene,

My 2c from having used Gimp for years and Krita for about 3 years: Krita is better for painting, Gimp is better for image manipulation

kaffiene,

100% this. Jackie and Misty were the only characters I really liked in the game and you loose them very early on

kaffiene,

Yeah. You’re used to it

kaffiene,

Rubbish. The rest of the world understands temperatures in Celsius perfectly well. You’re confusing familiarity with superiority

kaffiene,

You’re a fan boy =) seriously thou, other people are disappointed. If you like it good for you but other people are entitled to their opinions as well

kaffiene,

I’m pleased I don’t know anyone who’s this shallow

kaffiene,

This week? I’ve been using it for years and I’m still learning it

kaffiene,

I just did myself an eye injury due to rolling them so much

kaffiene,

Hamas are scum but Israel don’t present themselves as the moral equivalent of terrorists. So making the equivalence here doesn’t help out that much, IMO.

kaffiene,

Ah… No I did not

kaffiene,

No. The main story was so bad I couldn’t continue the game. I already thought it was bad, but that plot and the repetitive game play on the mai plot was too much for me.

kaffiene,

Yeah. Me too. Literally made me quit the whole game. Shockingly bad game design

kaffiene,

Not really? They can be hardly said to be “saying it and getting traction” while arming Israel to the hilt. They have and have had massive leverage over Israel and have largely chosen empty symbolic gestures while continuing to prop up the occupying state.
