Other right-wing accounts variously reacted by describing the move as Orwellian, lamenting the death of free speech and even contemplating leaving Canada for good. Some rejected the authority of the court altogether while others questioned if the judge herself had “something to hide.”
Funny how they think free speech is dead. I’m sure the there’s a pretty decent overlap between these idiots and the people standing in front of Town Halls and region headquarters whining about vaccines, kickdowns, and Trudeau with 0 repercussions.
These dumb fucks need to stop crying about “free speech” and start crying about what it is they really want - the ability to be degenerates and knuckle draggers without any repercussions.
I openly invite all these morons to leave Canada for good. We don’t want them. Nobody wants them. Go! Move to Antarctica where maybe the penguins will put up with your dipshittery. Maybe we can set up a GoFundMe to help them afford the travel cost out of here.
Long story short, I have a desktop with Fedora, lovely, fast, sleek and surprisingly reliable for a near rolling distro (it failed me only once back around Fedora 34 or something where it nuked Grub). Tried to install on a 2012 i7 MacBook Air… what a slog!!! Surprisingly Ubuntu runs very smooth on it. I have been bothering all...
I don’t mind it, but I don’t really use it for any of its features. I use i3 over Unity, I think Snaps (and flatpaks, appimages, etc) are dumb as shit.l, and don’t even get me started on how garbage Nautilus is - drives me nuts trying to type a filename in to jump to it only to have Nautilus run a search instead… No idea who thought that was a good idea, but they need to fix that crap already.
I’d probably get by just fine with a full Debian setup tbh.
AI-powered misinformation and disinformation campaigns are a “threat of a generation” but the government’s ability to do anything about it is “quite limited,” says the prime minister’s national security adviser. Article content...
What I dislike is the constant stripping of features lately - between OEMs stripping stuff like SD card support, and box contents like ear buds and wallwarts; and Google stripping core features like the ability to cat system logs… It’s getting fucking dumb.
My earbuds were replaced before the end of my phone’s life. Also, my kids who just got phones for the first time now need to also shell out money for a wall wart and ear buds? Considering there seems to be $0.00 savings passed on to us from all the shit they’ve cut out, it’s a bit ridiculous.
It really sucks how fucking stupid people have gotten. The complacency and supporting of companies stripping away access to things you’re selling out big money on? It’s like ownership pricing for a rental experience.
Then when nobody can repair the stuff but the OEM’s they’ll be shocked at the cost and blame the people who used to repair the items for not doing enough to push back or something stupid.
My reasonse is always along the lines of “Yeah and? It’s a pocket-sized PC with PC-like specs being sold at PC-like prices. I’d like my workhorse to be functional. I can monitor my device as best I can, and vet the things I install.”
The Conservatives have a 16-point lead. Three-quarters of the country think it's time for a change. But Justin Trudeau is vowing to fight Pierre Poilievre in the next election.
Literally this. It’s fucking stupid that Trudeau is willing to risk his party’s chances because he’s too full of himself to step down. That kind of selfish stupidity is how you destroy the country you say you care about.
2SLGBTQIA+ community leaders are denouncing the Conservative leader’s speech accusing Justin Trudeau of imposing “radical gender ideology” on children.
Man, these people protesting all these silly clandestine “agendas” and shit have the easiest job ever. Like, imagine protesting things that don’t really exist anywhere but your hivemind
Manufacturers don’t make displays under 6 inches available for purchase, with special cases (such as the iPhone Mini) being made under exclusive contracts. The best lead they have so far is to try to use displays designed for the front part of a foldable phone, but they’re yet to strike an agreement....
This brothers me so much. It’s such an obvious cash grab - manufacturers can force you to buy a more expensive model of the same phone, cloud services can tap your wallet for additional space, and carriers can tap your wallet for a larger data plan.
It’s gross. There’s literally no consumer-friendly reason to strip it.
Supply chains, worker wages and the price of energy has been blamed for the current bout of high inflation. But central bankers around the world are starting to clue in to something consumers have been aware of for a while — corporations just aren't afraid to raise their prices anymore.
It’s crazy how many people refer to this shit as “inflation” I could be wrong (wouldn’t be the first time lol) but I think Inflation generally refers to cost increases due to the economy sucking shit.
This isn’t that.
This is companies and landlords and service providers gouging us everywhere they can because the government is doing nothing to stop it, and the companies are laughing in their piles of money while they watch the average idiot call it “inflation” instead of “corporate greed” or succinctly, “greedflation”.
The complacency of people to just accept this and blame it on normal inflation is bonkers. Companies are reporting record profits - how could that be possible under true inflation‽‽
It’s time to fix our broken fucking tax brackets and start swinging at the money-filled pinatas already!
This is the only DST shit I can get behind. I get I’m not really getting a bonus hour of sleep (or hobby time), but dammit, it sure feels like it! And my body adjusts do much better to this.
It’s that stupid shit in the spring when we lose an hour that fucks me over for MONTHS. It’s not worth the “bonus” hour I get back later.
I don’t even get the purpose of tablets… Like “let’s buy a computer that’s slightly smaller than a laptop that isn’t upgradable and has the functionality of a cell phone, but without telephony”
Get a laptop or a cell phone… Unless you work in some niche industry where you can’t have devices with fans and need to be running Windows, it makes no sense
Idk, I have a S23 Ultra, and prior to that a Note 10+. At best, I guess a tablet would be handy for graphic novels, comics, and magazines where a phone would be too small and an e-reader would lack a proper colour screen. There’s almost nothing I can’t do on my phone that I’d need a Laptop for, though with the “updates” (downdates IMO) to Android lately, a laptop will probably be better suited in a few more years.
He’s never been nothing more than a greased bag of hot air. We’re in for some very fucked times if this dipshit gets in… Pro-theism, anti-science, sided with seditionists, at one point wanted people to ditch CAD in favour of BTC (couldn’t even pick a crypto coin with some promise of utility)… I have no idea how people look at this guy and think “yes, I absolutely want him in charge of the country”
🧟🧟🧟🧟🧟 🗳️
Trudeau may not be great, but he’s not nearly as hate-fueled and greasy as Poilivere.

My laptop went bonkers trying to run it, maybe I have something misconfigured somewhere. I wanted to like it because it looks great, but I couldn’t because it was seemingly too resource intensive.
Somebody mentioned I may have been running bpytop, so maybe this whole thing is my bad. I honestly can’t remember what I ran now - I thought it was btop
“Introducing the X Engine (XE) - the free-speech, anti-woke gaming engine formerly known as Unity! To show our dedication to anti-wokeness we will only allow String and Long variable types, and to show my dedication to being a free-speech edgelord, functions will now be referred to as fucktions. Professional access to XE will be $420.69 monthly, with additional fees added on based on the success of the product you created.”
I’m way outside of the loop on this as I don’t use cannabis in any form, but if I get what people are saying the dose on the edibles means that you wouldn’t eat a typical serving of candy to feel the effects?
That sounds both stupid and dangerous to me. I’d think some of the reason you’d eat the candy is for the texture and flavour, so why wouldn’t they be dosed in a way that they expect you to eat the whole bag as a snack?
I can’t imagine buying a bag of sour patch kids and being told I can only eat three of the candies out of it.
Wanna bet these are the same accounts creating a bulk of the comments on MSN news articles? It’s sickening how that shit is spoofed to susceptible idiots across thanks to Microsoft Edge’s (and formerly Internet Explorer’s) default blank page.
Oh right, and they added that “News and Interests” section to the taskbar too, just in case you missed the bullshit vitriol by using another browser…
