Kinda bored so here we go: the government officially recognizes the creeper, from jeepers creepers, as a threat. Congratulations you are now task on coming up with a plan on killing or at least semi-permanently incapacitating the monster. You are backed by the government but keep the cost and destruction down. For obvious...
Set up a baseball stadium with all the lights on, blasting his song on repeat until he shows up. The firing squad is already set up and on standby for when he gets there.
It’s great for communicating among individuals and in group chats, but I think it ultimately fails as a platform between creators and fans even though it seems like every creator or product team has one these days....
The creator/fan dynamic is not really its strong point - other platforms do that better. The best servers I’m in are small communities of niche hobbyists.
I’m getting really tired of my food expiring before I make anything with it, and I want to quit buying anything that can’t be frozen or last several months in the cupboard.
Vegetarian chili - canned or dry beans and lentils, tomato sauce, canned veggies if you want. It’s versatile enough that you can make it differently every time.
I own a condo and have one dog and one cat. They get along and play all the time, but I feel like the cat is often lonely and missing a cuddling companion. He’s a rescue who was a street cat for years before I adopted him. I’ve been considering fostering or adopting another cat to give him company. Thoughts?
Any of them that help people live easier or better lives, up to the point that that belief negatively impacts others’ lives. Do what you want as long as it doesn’t come at the expense of someone else.
Sometimes I will use something and realize I’ve owned it forever. It’s a nice change in our throwaway reality. I think my personal record is a bicycle multi-tool I got for one of my first bikes, ~25 years ago. Still have it, still use it. When it comes to electronic devices I have a Panasonic mini Hi-Fi from ~2005. Never...
I’ve got this little plastic foot stool that’s probably older than I am. It’s not as strong as it used to be (legs buckled with me on it once), but it’s holding up a speaker and doing a great job of it.
I think the term “destruction” has been used too loosely here. Sure, beavers can change the landscape, but they don’t make it uninhabitable for all life. As someone else mentioned they create wetlands.
Being second place in the destructiveness competition with humans is like they don’t come anywhere close.
Yes, they cut down trees. Approximately 200 per year. But these fallen trees stay nearby, and they are the beaver’s home as well as some of their food. Plus they create a bigger wetland ecosystem than what they took away with those trees. Compare that to what humans do with trees we cut down… transport, process, burn, all sorts of things that are worse for the environment.
Not since the Eiffel Tower starting broadcasting 5G to shrink us down over generations so our tiny hands could build complex computers. Wake up sheeple.
Same. Certain songs take me back to the place I first heard them, usually walking around as a teen with a discman. And now as an adult it happens with “this song = this block of the city” where I was driving and it came on.
I find myself checking out pretty often and just making myself feel bad about the state of the world, or killing half an hour on stupid games that I could 100% live without. This is probably pretty common, and I’m wondering what other people have found as a way to do more productive things with their phones in the downtime.
The obsession with what other people do with their lives. I like to be left alone, mind my own business, not bother others. But there seems to be some part of the population that is the opposite and just can’t help but poke and pry at others.
Maybe December? So we all take money out of banks, at least current month salary, and spend cash only. I think that is something that shouldn’t be hard to do and it would show if we, the people, have any power left to make positive changes for the future or we can just surrender and eat bugs....
I’m in dozens, but frequent about 6 as well. I find it’s pretty good for finding communities about niche subjects which helps replace reddit. It also feels less like yelling into the void since there is that “live chat” feeling, and yet I never feel pressured to answer immediately.
