Never played any of this crap but after watching the trailer my first complaint would be that the persons making the game have absolutely zero sense of style and all the example clothes look like something found in a backyard container in Uzbekistan in 1985. Maybe that’s exactly what the “japan/manga” fankids like though, it’s just such a depressing and backwards phenomenon.
Except each instance has its own URL meaning ranking for ANYTHING is extremely hard since each domain’s rank will always be weak in the sea of others. Each is even being penalised by the algorithm if there are duplicate content mirrored between different URLs. It’s the weakness of the fediverse if we are to follow how search engines have worked in the last decades. Maybe it will lead to new search engines (I hope so) but right now it is not going to work well to replace for example Reddit … or rank well in general at all.
Thanks, I didn’t know that and never bothered to look. But then you still have the (SEO) issue of all the domains vs one in the case of Reddit or Quora or Stack Overflow. But yeah, a few very large Lemmy instances will probably start to rank well once they have enough good content.
I really liked season one but stopped watching when the melted face bald guy stuff started, dunno if that was the second season maybe. By then everything was just too much trying too hard-cringe and I had to stop.
It doesn’t make you anonymous. Torrent protocol wasn’t designed with anonymity in mind and there are a million ways you’re going to leak your actual IP address....
Edit: I googled it. There is no source, basically just a guy claiming that would be logical for them to do but his timeframe is already proven wrong and Apple hasn’t announced anything.
I am on iOS and I use Liftoff. I actually don’t particularly like the looks of it but it is the ONLY app that can do swipe right anywhere to go back.
It is also the only app which allows for a very large text size span. Most apps just have ultra tiny text on the largest settings and that is just unusable on a mini phone.
There are lots and lots of apps but almost all of them fail on the basics.

I grew up with a thick Australian accent with a drawl I dislike, and have been consciously trying to change it for a while. The problem is I tried to make it sound more American at first but keep getting drawn to speaking “Britishly”. Now it’s a Frankenstein of all 3 accents and I don’t know what to go with....
It feels a bit like OP thinks all Brits sound like the inbred upper class fox hunters we see on tv. They have so many accents and variants of which many are far from elegant and proper.
I have Spotify, Tidal and YouTube Music. In my opinion Spotify’s apps and UI are way better. Also the recommendations are much better.
Desktop Tidal feels clunky and YT Music doesn’t have a desktop client at all.
All three mobile apps are just fine.
Many more people use Spotify so you’re probably more likely to find good playlist links for Spotify.
YouTube Music is included with YouTube Premium and Tidal has higher quality audio if you need that.
If you don’t care so much about the UI, recommendation engines etc, you can use any of them really. They have similar libraries and in the end they do the same thing - play music.
Not sure why you only mention Chromium and Firefox in the post text, I can only assume this vulnerability affects ALL browsers. Safari (WebKit based) is, as far as I know, the second most used browser in the world.
This is not a shit post, it’s a real issue for many. In Denmark there is a political movement for the rights of non-early birds, called B-Samfundet (B-Society).
For those of you who use Raspberry Pi’s in your home environment, I’m curious as to what you use them for. What applications are you running on them? Do you have your Pi’s setup in a cluster?
They sure have their uses. My Pi 4 is at around 3,5W idle and the new Pi 5 is at 1,8W idle. Extremely impressive! And fast enough for all my use cases, so for me it’s the perfect machine. Let me know if you want to sell your Pis :)
Just use a good podcast app like Pocket Casts. It’s the king on iOS at least, so I assume it’s good on Android as well. I never understood why people keep using these shitty Google apps that always get abandoned.
Do you think 99% of the grannies and non-techies care? I support Signal and use it myself to communicate (with the 2-3 other people that use it…), but it’s not comparable with WhatsApp or Telegram which everyone has. It’s shitty but it’s reality. People even use Facebook Messenger over Signal.
Threema at 6€ is not really a good option for anyone anymore, a least not over Signal. Also they had an encryption obfuscation problem recently, read the longer comments at the bottom here and decide for yourself:
Let me preface this one by saying that the blame for this is entirely on me and my carelessness when shopping online. I did not get scammed. I was just being stupid....
With adapters you’re just going to have connection/communication problems with midi. Just return the products and get the correct stuff. You should have a 2-4 week return window like with anything online.
Orion is not open source so that’s a no. There is no way to know that what they tell us is true. If they free their code it might become my go to browser as well.
Check the binary for current outgoing traffic? Sure but instant traffic is not the only way to be tracked, and it is particularly difficult to get an overview for a browser.
A open source project is automatically safer to use. Sure, any binary can be injected with crap but in a closed source app there is really no way to know anything for sure.
Sure the binary is what I run, but I am not following what your point is. If you are paranoid about binaries from an open source project, just compile it yourself. It’s easy. That’s just not an argument against open source.
You are talking about the “let that sink in” guy, the car tunnel fail guy, the guy who bought into PayPal and Tesla and called them his creations. There is no need to assume a conspiracy, he is just a diamond level asshat and always was. SpaceX/Starship, Neuralink, Solar City, they are ALL absolutely insane and miscalculated projects and if you read about them you see that he is totally incompetent. The big question is why people believe in him.
I strongly recommend watching this channel which has excellent videos on Musk:
I thought I did and was so against manufacturers removong them. Until I got Airpods. So much better. Perfect ear fit like no other. No cable mess. Instant auto connect between devices. I can ping them. And they’ve held up longer than any cable headphones as well, whose cables always break. And they get tangled. I’ve had the Airpods for three years now and they still hold battery for a full day use for me. Charging them fully takes like 15 minutes.
I’m sure there are similarly good headphones for other brands, this is just my own experience with Airpods.
In case I must have a cable for some reason I can plug in a tiny 3,5mm adapter through the charging port. So that’s not a problem either.
Also the phone has better water and dust resistance with one port less.
That’s what I thought too, after posting my question. I mean I’m all for open source and privacy and fair business but making up your own news doesn’t help anyone. And anyone using a Google product (if that’s the case here I do not know) really has no right to criticise Apple anymore.
I also degoogled some time back when it really occurred to me how much data they had on me. That’s not good for anyone but Google. And there are great alternatives for most things.
Also their inconsistency with their services (abandoning projects they initially promote heavily) just feels insecure and annoying.
I still use their search engine though, the alternatives aren’t there yet. But I use it less and less because it’s so riddled with affiliate sites. And I do use Youtube, it is the best streaming service despite its own set of problems.
I’ve gone back and forth on taking a multivitamin since I know my diet isn’t all that great. Ideally I should be working to improve that diet but let’s say due to certain circumstances that’s a bit difficult at the moment....
Does anyone got any television recommendations for dumb tv’s or other words none smart tv’s? Or even a tv that is smart but the software is open sourced making it privacy friendly?
You think consoles don’t track you? Also they are extremely wasteful when it comes to power consumption. Better just get a tiny streaming stick or a smart tv.
Yes, but we are discussing streaming here. I also have several consoles and I play on them but for streaming they’re a really bad (expensive) option for the reason I mentioned: electricity.
