UsernameIsTooLon,

Custom roms have proven that Pixels could have lasted about an extra 1-2 more android versions before performance really caught up. The Pixel 2 could run Android 13, albeit a bit buggier since it’s unofficial. My only guess would be costly reasons for Google to further support those devices longer at the time.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Mechanical pencils. You can go from $6 Kuru Toga Advances to $60 rOtring 800s to $100+ imported Japan region exclusive Kuru Toga Dives

UsernameIsTooLon,

Right?? It’s the most over engineered pencil and I want 1 of each color lol.

UsernameIsTooLon,

The Bible actually says to shut up and pay your taxes without complaining lmao. Wonder who wrote that?

Hit the gym and touch grass every so often. It’s that simple to feel better. The hardest part is finding consistency. But being chronically online and doom scrolling is what makes the world feel so bleak.

Edit: gonna copy and paste my other comment

I mean, I’m simplifying it for me, but I realized at one point I’m just tired of being tired. Doesn’t have to be physical activity, but it’s really just finding your niche and not getting into your head too much. Easier said than done, but I really just woke up one day and decided that change is only going to come if I force myself to get up and do something. Otherwise I just get depressed and all “woe is me, woe is the world”. If life sucks anyways, I’m going to find ways to enjoy it my own way.

I hate to break it to people but when it came full circle to me, it became as easy as “I’m a depressed right now, well I don’t want to be so I’m going to put a little effort into something. That way, I can at least be proud of myself if not the world”.

I can keep complaining about the world, or I can toughen myself up for myself and be proud of the person I am. I wouldn’t call it ignorance to the rest of the world, I just don’t give a fuck anymore. It never gave a fuck about me in the first place. I’m doing it all for myself.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Eventually you have to. It sucks, I get it. But if you’re not going to do it for yourself, no one else will. If you need help, you have to make that first phone call to the therapist yourself. Otherwise you can easily get stuck in the comfortable spiral of depression.

Armored Core 6 tops Steam chart, overtakes BG3, “thanks to Elden Ring” (www.pcgamesn.com)

Never underestimate the insatiable appetite gamers have for giant robot battles. That appetite has propelled Armored Core 6 to the top spot on Steam’s global sales charts more than a decade after the last numbered entry in the series was released, knocking Baldur’s Gate 3 off the top spot....

UsernameIsTooLon,

Who cares “thanks to Elden Ring” or not, as an Armored Core fan, I’m just happy for more Armored Core and for many players to give it a chance for the first time.

UsernameIsTooLon,

So it’ll be a glorified android gaming machine? The whole selling point of the original Anyneo was playing PC games.

UsernameIsTooLon,

The color coded legend should be at the top of the page.

UsernameIsTooLon,

I feel like even with fully autonomous cars, there’s going to be laws about how the main driver should always be alerted. This would be the case unless our cars are their own independent drivers like a cab.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Well to be fair, he’s been building and updating the app for 10 years now and just porting it over to Lemmy recently if you want to look at it that way. It’s not an entirely new app out of the blue.

UsernameIsTooLon,

I got 8 years out of Sync for reddit. You never know.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Yea this article is painting that the people are the problem here. Sacrifice the super rich CEOs instead.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Even when he announced it. It’s crazy that in 2023, some can go “I got cancer. It’ll suck, but I’ll be fine.”

Just a few decades ago it was the biggest scare to have cancer and it will terminally end your life.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Average Linux user lol. Have you tried arch?

UsernameIsTooLon,

People like making up reasons and presenting it as fact on the internet lol, but actually working in a school, here are the real main reasons. Busses are compartmentalized and busses have padding everywhere on the seats and they’re densely packed so it’s usually safe enough without belts if kids get flung around. They also typically drive slower than cars and no seatbelts make evacuations easier and faster for students. They are also very heavy. I’ve been in a bus that’s been hit before and it was like someone just slightly shook the bus while the car’s headlight was busted. The paperwork being done took longer than taking us home. The last reason is probably the most believable, but it’s to cut costs, too. Busses with belts can range $8-15k more expensive and school faculty members are underpaid enough already.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Americans are all about status symbols and knowing names. Runs in our eagle screeching capitalist blood.

UsernameIsTooLon,

All the lead poisoning is getting into the boomer’s reasoning and reading comprehension skills.

UsernameIsTooLon,

I skip a lot of the B-roll but I do find that some of his wacky experiments have piqued my interests. As a home cook, I’ve been trying to be more open minded about flavor combinations and have learned to not judge something before I actually try it myself.

UsernameIsTooLon,

It’s more or less the same specs as the Nintendo switch right? Except the Tegra X1 is more used for video encoding here rather than gaming

UsernameIsTooLon,

All the premium features except downloading

UsernameIsTooLon,

Yea, that’s how streaming services work.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Go reread my original comment again

UsernameIsTooLon,

If you’re smart with your phone, you technically don’t need to update. You can also prolong life with custom rims and their own monthly patches.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Human Centipede can be appreciated as a cult classic in horror, but in terms of fucked up concept I wish it was the worst thing my eyeballs have witnessed. Top 3 for me: Salo (1975); it was just sad and fucked up. Martyrs (2008); I’m really squeamish when it comes to razer blades and skin. A Serbian Film (2010); straight up taboo gore porn, the only film where I’ve personally skipped a certain scene because I know I’m better off living without that witnessed imagery in my mind. Outside of the fucked up shit it’s not even a good movie.

UsernameIsTooLon,

It’s easier to do in more rural or remote areas but cities and suburbs make it a bit harder. US prices are also fucked. I’m currently paying $62/month for 100 down and 10 up and that’s the cheapest option around us.

UsernameIsTooLon,

They did care, they just cared about the money instead.

UsernameIsTooLon,

I actually think the opposite. Millennials grew up during the boom of technology and many had to rapidly adjust to all of that in a short amount of time. That’s why so many are so good at it. Gen Z on the other hand has trouble managing folders and files. This is largely due to tech getting easier… too easy almost. The direction of tech right now is AR/VR and my grandma was able to quickly grasp it because the controls are so natural.

I don’t think that millennials will be behind in the tech field, but trends? Yes.

UsernameIsTooLon,

I don’t think it’s so black and white. Instead I think it’s created both clueless gen z kids and extremely computer literate gen z kids. I see so many kids now picking up on computers and coding so quickly that I don’t think things like the filesystem will ever be too archaic, it’ll just remain in the background managed by those who can now simplify tasks for the others who don’t understand it as well. The proof is in Linux’s growing numbers that people have more interests in computers now than ever before.

It’s just that equally as such, there are people who are just going to navigate the world of tech in a completely different way. They either see the world (literally lol) through their phones or even with upcoming AI. Though I still think millennials have the capacity to keep up better than previous generations when it comes to tech.

Skill issue.

Fun fact about spice tolerance. Many people think tolerance = resistance but that’s not the case. After a certain point, people who love spicy foods report the same levels of spiciness compared to those who don’t regularly eat it, it’s just that they are used to it and even like it. So something that is a 10/10 spicy is the same level of spicy for everyone, it’s just some masochists prefer it to be that way.

So when people say things like “oh that wasn’t that spicy” it still usually is spicy. Their personality just prefers it that way so it doesn’t bother them as much.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Genetics play a bit of a factor and your taste buds do develop more as you get older. But if you’re comparing tongue for tongue, the tingly/pain sensations are rated to be more or less the same.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Maybe they had a patent on their mechanism. This looks like the controllers may magnetically lock in rather than be slid on.

UsernameIsTooLon,

For me personally, I connect my phone to my car and always have my phone’s volume at 100% for the Bluetooth because I control the volume with the physical knob in the car.

UsernameIsTooLon,

4k streaming. That’s it. The article just copies and pastes around “4k” as much as possible but that’s the only feature.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Xenoblade 3 is a Nintendo exclusive. Baldur’s Gate is unique to me because a game like this hasn’t clicked with me since Dragon Age Origins.

UsernameIsTooLon,

For now. Y’all acting like Linus should immediately make a video in response to Gamer Nexus’s 45 minute one. There’s a lot to break down and go over so these things take time. Honestly WAN show being live would be a much better time to discuss it than the quickest response video in the west when one of the complaints right now, too is sloppiness when rushing.

UsernameIsTooLon,

This is how it starts. Next thing you’ll know you’ll be optimizing phone shapes, learning physics about drop protections, and soon starting your own case company.

UsernameIsTooLon,

It has some of its own features like being able to scroll into the future to see what the place would look like at what time, including daylight changes and weather. Additionally, some places you can then go into the store and explore what it looks like on the inside. There’s some sample videos in the article.

Google Earth is more one big globe only.

UsernameIsTooLon,

It seems like a handful of links are trying to be “open source” in terms of YouTube playbacks getting redirected or other means of copying other websites. That being said, it is getting sketchy when I’m unfamiliar with all of them.

UsernameIsTooLon,

People just like complaining. Guaranteed if we taught taxes to high schoolers they’d complain that it’s one of the more boring required classes like government and econ. Kids already hate reading assignments and math enough without taxes involved.

UsernameIsTooLon,

I don’t upgrade until my phone decomposes lol

UsernameIsTooLon,

This camera has a lot of depth/bokeh. You can take some really nice isolated shots by just getting close to your subject. The 2x zoom is also really nice for a flatter looking shot. Also try to take images from unique angles. We humans regularly look from top down so squat low and take pictures angling up for a new perspective.
