Well I have also read about add-ons for regular service rifles that enable a user to shoot down drones.

Like this: popularmechanics.com/…/drone-scope-smash-2000-plu…

Or, you either:

  • calculate this in and possibly divert workforce during the outage.
  • Arrange your business critical processes to be able to contunie for a duration “stand alone”.

Good, secure and reliable IT is difficult to setup and maintain. SaaS has a definitive role but one has to be wary of the risks.

The first capability jump will be the interoperability between the plane and the western weapons.

Some of the weapons (like the Harm missile) can only be used with limited functionality. But with F16 the weapon and plane can talk to each other and new features become available.

Additionally there are then .ore weapons that currently are not supplied by NATO that can also be supplied.

Time for the crew to change shorts

Tosti,

Good way to draw attention I would think. Worthy cause too. PPE should properly fit.

Tosti,

Medevac drone is a pretty cool utilization of drone tech. They can get close to the front and take a wounded soldier a bit off the front to be loaded in to an ambulance.

“The increasingly aggressive actions of the collective West by the hands of Ukraine is fraught with great consequences.”.

What?!

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

They will claim it to be Ukrainian air defense’s fault. Even in the face of overwhelming evidence. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and make counter-accusations"

  • It’s not our weapon
  • The evidence is fabricated
  • "If they would just stop defending themselves, the weapons would hit the actual targets"
Tosti,

Good read, interesting to know about. I hope the issue is resolved, but most likely this will only happen if Devs abandon the platform en masse.

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

Yeah, this usual spiel. Equate the state of Israel to Judaism and then call everyone who criticizes a right wing government by calling them antisemitic.

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

Oh that’s nice “the creation of a truth and recovery commission offering amnesty to British security personnel and paramilitaries if they cooperate with its enquiries.”. So they go to the commission, fess up all their crimes and all is forgiven. (/s in case this was not apparent)

And they won’t. If Starlink is as important as it’s made out to be, pissing off musk is a surefire way to start experiencing outages.

If there is criticism it will be when they no longer depend on it.

Elon Musk seen as working counter to U.S. interests in dealings with Russia, China (youtu.be)

Elon Musk's financial interests put him in a position of having his own personal foreign policy, but new reporting shows that whether it's manufacturing in China or the Starlink network being used in Ukraine, Musk’s decisions can run counter to stated US policy.

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

I think this is the case for a lot of the extremely wealthy and multinationals. The difference is that Musk is just not good at being discreet.

Is Brazil a dictatorship, cause else some form of Law enforcement might just show up and arrest him anyway. And wel… follow the law.

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

Sure, if the government gives someone (limited) immunity then “fine”. But a promise of an official is worth nothing if not backed up by the proper legal framework. Else law enforcement will arrest someone wanted. This also works that way in the US.

I have. And also Lula just reaffirmed that his earlier statement was nonsense.

feddit.de/post/3315291

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

Misi formation? It is exactly the point I made yesterday. Lula does not have the authority to do that. His country has laws and they are enforced by separate branches.

Only if he walks this immunity through the proper channels it’s worth something. And he now states that himself too.

And no… Washington consensus… Brazilian law.

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

There is actually a cool NASA page that speaks to this and links to a subpage dedicated to spin-off technologies: nasa.gov/…/human-spaceflight-technologies-benefit…

There is also a wiki article about this subject: en.m.wikipedia.org/…/NASA_spinoff_technologies

Ukraine should invite him to visit the country post war and then chuck his ass into jail. Or ask for his extradition.

Flying drones used to hunt Airdefense.

I guess they might see the drone but the large missiles will have trouble at this altitude and range.

Digital Markets Act: Commission designates six gatekeepers (ec.europa.eu)

The European Commission has today designated, for the first time, six gatekeepers - Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, ByteDance, Meta, Microsoft - under the Digital Markets Act (DMA). In total, 22 core platform services provided by gatekeepers have been designated. The six gatekeepers will now have six months to ensure full compliance...

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

I think the major car companies should also be designated gatekeepers. The modern car is a driving data collection source for the major vendors, and it is high time they are reigned in too.

Multiple organizations exist in Russia to repress citizens. OMON and SOBR are those heavily armored guys you see arresting people on the red square and everywhere else in Russia. Only a split in the country that pulls in parts of the military on both sides seems to have any chance.

183 Stryker vehicles, more than half of them infantry carrier vehicles.
A little under 9 million a piece, not bad for the US. They are phasing them out.

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

Yes, he referred to him as grandpa. FAFO.

But Girkin is well positioned in the glass box. We would also like to welcome him to the Netherlands. I understand there is a room ready for him in Scheveningen.

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

It’s impressive that they included surveillance drone(s) in the strike package. Offcourse a good way to assess results, but even .ore damning for Russian air defense.

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

Why would you walk to the edge of cover to take a shit?

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

And a hefty price jump to boot. Microsoft wins on all fronts.

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

The thing is that if you are subsidizing the other end you are still interfering with the market.

I’ll bet you would dislike the government pulling back more and leaving even more to the morally bankrupt to abuse even less.

The government should be a strong regulator as a counterbalance as corporatations do not suffer repercussions for the worst externalities they produce.

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

So all voice will be recorded, processed and then an automated system will handle bans.

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

Yeah, but getting a mig up there to launch it will be tricky, i think the cocpit lights for airdefense will explode.

Tosti,
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

This is just not true, 30mph/48Kmh on a pedal bike is for seasoned riders on specialized bikes, not for day to day use.

20mph/32kmh is already fast. In the Netherlands; a country with world class bike infrastructure, normal e-bikes are limited to 16mph/25kmh and this works for everyday use. Above that, the ebikes are speed pedelecs and require a helmet and a license plate. The pedelecs are used by people for their commute etc. usually on protected bike lanes separated from motorized traffic. The normal ebikes are sufficient for all other trips where interaction with motor traffic is more common.

Wanting to get from A to B quicker is risky in traffic, where you are very vulnerable as a cyclist, and we already see a uptick in accidents with bikes, and the amount of trauma riders get.

Cool engineering.

I would like to add that I find it difficult to express how much I detest imgur video player.
