Just Finished Watching Series

I just finished watching the entire series over the course of the year, so I’m a late-blooming fan. Probably top three comedy show for sure. Seinfeld for Xers and Millenials but with more heart and cast chemistry. It’s amazing that they were able to maintain the quality for the most part through the entire series. Dennis...

TheQuietCroc,

I believe the cast described the show as “Friends, but they hate each other”

TheQuietCroc,

Man this is such a great example of a classic JRPG. I bought it day one, don’t think I ever finished it, but man I wish I could replay this game!

TheQuietCroc,

They’re still bundled, it’s just fans doing the work to put them all in one place. The spectacle was cool but E3 was always going to die once the internet became widespread.

TheQuietCroc,

If you do this, wait for the game to be $20 cuz it ain’t worth $40.

TheQuietCroc,

I already wanted this, but seeing ProZD means I’m playing day 1!

TheQuietCroc,

Don’t you need to drop the shot into a lager tho?

TheQuietCroc,

There’s the one in Shang Chi where his dad says something like “Be careful how you speak to me. I’ve lived ten of your lifetimes.” in Chinese to another high ranking person, but what he really said was, “I’ve eaten more salt than you have eaten rice.” which sounds much cooler IMO.

TheQuietCroc,

Yeah, they went with that one for the official subtitles.

TheQuietCroc,

Don’t most Texas cities have a highway that flows around downtown? Houston was the only one that I remember had one go through downtown but they removed it.

This city desperately needs a central East-West highway.

TheQuietCroc,

I’m sure if you’re super into the lore then this will be a great movie for you but man, it was so boring for me. The exposition ratio is way too high, it really could have used more animatronic screen time and action instead of the frequent dream sequences.

TheQuietCroc,

I thought this game died 5 years ago

TheQuietCroc,

Sam Esmail, creator of Mr. Robot, is directing this!

TheQuietCroc,

All I know about a country mouse and a city mouse is that they were really good friends.

TheQuietCroc,

Didn’t he announce his retirement back in April?

TheQuietCroc,

I would eat the entire pot of this

TheQuietCroc,

It’s probably like this at most colleges. Moving big stuff is expensive so the students just toss it. It’s pretty well known in Austin that you can get free stuff at UT on move out day that way.

TheQuietCroc,

Probably cuz to get those complaints he’d have to be on set

TheQuietCroc,

Glad he liked the game. I enjoyed it but I was a little let down to learn I spent more time making custom graffiti than I did playing the game. It’s still worth picking up but maybe for $20 instead of $40.

TheQuietCroc,

It has to be cuz that’s the one that immediately came to mind

TheQuietCroc,

It’s not embarrassed about being an anime adaptation so it actually does a good job embracing most of what makes the anime great. I have some reservations about it but overall I’d definitely recommend it as a “should watch” anime adaptation.

TheQuietCroc,

Tetris was an awesome political thriller. Blackberry was an awesome dark comedy.

Both weren’t what I was expecting them to be but I really enjoyed what they did.

The production value alone on Tetris was so unexpected, but you could tell they did things just to have the pixel transitions for example. If you like Glen on IASIP, you’ll love him in Blackberry cuz he’s basically Dennis as a CEO.

TheQuietCroc,

I think that’s what it was for a few seasons until it changed, at least from what I remember reading about it.

TheQuietCroc,

I think you need to own the game on steam to review it so there’s some gatekeeping there at least

TheQuietCroc,

Good luck. There’s over 1000 episodes of One Piece to look forward to! You can use the “one pace” guide to reduce the filler tho.

TheQuietCroc,

Tencent has been around for a decade, that’s past being “at the gate”

TheQuietCroc,

In gaming? Netflix is definitely at the gate with the current options they have. Apple as well with their Arcade service. Google and Amazon keep coming back but never stay long, I’m not even sure they should be in the conversation.

Tencent has been in gaming for a long time now, they’ve owned Riot since 2011. They’ve had their hand in other gaming companies many times since then. They’re well past the gate, it’s not even in their rear view anymore.

TheQuietCroc,

And he’s gonna find that lost shaker of salt

TheQuietCroc,

It does a great job of condensing the important parts of the arcs it covers into 8 episodes, but it’s still lacking a lot of the humor that I feel like is the heart of the show.

I still enjoyed it and would love for them to cover the whole series but that feels like a longshot considering how much more CGI heavy it’s gonna need to get with things like new bad guys with crazy powers, new allies with crazy powers, and at least two more crew members that will have to be fully-CGI in order to work.

TheQuietCroc,

I thought this was Billie Eilish’s movie debut, but it turns out Emma Stoned

TheQuietCroc,

You were not exaggerating. It looks more like Minecraft than DRG. I was definitely expecting “Deep Rock Fantastic” but instead it’s more of a survival game than anything.

TheQuietCroc,

This is easily one of my favorite tracks!

TheQuietCroc,

I vape oil and will take a puff, inhale, hold for 2 secs, then exhale.

TheQuietCroc,

I’m more excited about season 2 than I am happy with the first season. I liked Sweet Tooth’s story and the characters in general except for John Doe. Both his character and Anthony Mackie’s performance were really lackluster in my opinion, and it felt like Anthony was really forcing the humor the whole time.

Stephanie Beatriz killed it, as expected. I thought her backstory was really interesting and appropriately ridiculous for the setting.

I’m hoping season 2 leans into more of the car combat and the ridiculousness of the setting.

TheQuietCroc,

I was thinking “Anthony Mackie is really channeling his inner Will Smith” after the first episode!

As referenced in Across the Spider-Verse's "shoot" scene, here's the "shit" scene from Suits and the "fuck" scene from The Wire (www.youtube.com)

The Wire started it, of course: the idea that a case could be solved by two people, muttering variations of a single swearword. Suit’s homage directly mentions The Wire, which is cheating, but the family-friendly animation had to be a bit more subtle...

TheQuietCroc,

I didn’t even catch that, nice job!

TheQuietCroc,

These things are in Austin too and they cause smaller versions of issues like this all the time. We have a lot of major events throughout the year and I’m not looking forward to these things interfering with traffic more than they already do.

TheQuietCroc,

I know all about this. I drive for Uber on the weekends and I just overtake these things cuz they completely stop in the middle of the road to change lanes and I ain’t got time for that.

TheQuietCroc,

I haven’t even played BG3 yet, but I wouldn’t fault anyone for saying this. I lost a month and a half to TOTK and enjoyed every second. It fixed every gripe I had about BOTW, but that’s kind of the problem as well. I always felt like BOTW was a glorified tech demo, and after playing TOTK, it felt more like the game BOTW should have been.

TOTK also has its own issues, especially with the story. The story just being told to you and not being something you’re really experiencing was a weird choice. I was hoping for Ganondorf’s involvement to be more than “it was me Link!” leading up to the final confrontation.

The final boss fight was an insanely awesome sequence though. Easily my favorite part of the game.

TheQuietCroc,

City builders seem to be my comfort food. I go back to Banished every now and then to get my fix. I’m currently playing Kingdom Two Crowns to fill it.

TheQuietCroc,

Maybe it’s cuz I watched it on a plane, but this movie lost my interest after Mexico. Everything before that was gold, it just felt like it slowed way down after.

TheQuietCroc,

Nah I saw it on a flight

TheQuietCroc,

Who are you who are so wise in the ways of beans?

TheQuietCroc,

Reminds me of “Sir, You Are Being Hunted” which I like a lot.

TheQuietCroc,

I only had roti in India and all I remember is saying “this is a tortilla” to my coworkers there.
