This question was inspired by my hatred of Temporal Anti-Aliasing which, in many games nowadays, is poorly used as a performance bandaid. On lower resolutions it will smudge and blur the image and certain bad cases of TAA will cause visible ghosting....
I recently tried to enable system-wide DNS over https on Fedora. To do so I had to to some research and found out how comfusing it is for the average user (and even experienced users) to change the settings. In fact there are multiple backends messing with system DNS at the same time....
I’m using tty here, and not VT. I assume the problem is caused by my locale, more specifically - by inability of tty to render glyphs of my language....
Recently I decided to update my coreboot, with some config changes. It worked, but after I put my laptop to sleep it doesn’t boot anymore. (Power LED and fans turn on just for a second)...
Why not get rid of poors? They don’t like being poor, right? So if we provide equal opportunity to everyone — they could become a middle class. Or be themselves responsible over their economic state.
“Phisical removal” is a meme. Hoppe originally used the phrase when writing about people who ideologically oppose anarchy (in established anarchist society). And he didn’t mean a “helicopter ride”, he meant societal pressure, shunning, or in his own words " you’re not welcome here" attitude.
“Intellectual property” is not a real property, therefore its not “theft”
Private property was “invented” to avoid and resolve conflicts that arise from potential uses of scarce resources. As ideas are not scarce — they’re not property.
And that bs excuse about artists is laughable. IP is relatively new development, mostly enforced in western countries. And yet art existed throughout all of human history!
If anything, IP hinders creativity, and allows big corporations to monopolize the market.
That mounting drives with their uuid as the mount location is insane
Why tho? Kernel sometimes can index drives in different order (if you have multiple drives), screwing your mount locations. But UUID is always the same
Btrfs with compression can substantially “increase” capacity of your USB stick. IIRC I managed to fit 20-30% more data on 64Gb stick than its maximum capacity!

I’m not sure if thats required here, but it’s totally possible without asking for government permission
Edit: i might be wrong here because of “legal speak” language barrier, but if I understand correctly you can make money from your business as a regular person just fine (legally). There’s just a limit on how much you can earn before needing yo register as a business
Context: Twitter is currently rebranding it self as X.com, which is the bottom logo. X.org is a FOSS implementation of the The X Window System which is being slowly replaced by the newer Wayland display server. Because of the Twitter rebrand Someone decided to make Wayland.social, to parody the X.org to Wayland transition.
Don’t get me wrong. Apple removing audio jack was the biggest facepalm in smartphone history. And you can thank it for not being able to make an upgrade without sacrificing audio jack (and SD card too :/). But USB-C is getting standardized everywhere now (laptops, smartphones, etc.). What makes USB-C earphones not worth the...
