SneakyThunder,

Java

(I’m waiting for someone to rewrite it in Rust)

SneakyThunder,

I guess you can even say that they “should be physically removed”… 🚁

SneakyThunder,

I just edit resolv.conf directly, and then do chattr +i /etc/resolv.conf to make it persistent

SneakyThunder,

NewPipe can do the same, without any ads. And its also FOSS

SneakyThunder,

Well, it fixes the issue when I logged in. But my login program still looks unreadable with non English language.

I setup correct font in /etc/vconsole.conf and even tried to add setfont to early init file. Still no luck. I guess getty resets it…

SneakyThunder,

Oh, no! I don’t think that’s what they desire

SneakyThunder,

Press ‘Esc’, and then ‘ZZ’

SneakyThunder,

Simply spend a couple hours configuring vim

SneakyThunder,

Do you imply that everyone would be able to afford buying a home without landlords?

SneakyThunder,

Why not get rid of poors? They don’t like being poor, right? So if we provide equal opportunity to everyone — they could become a middle class. Or be themselves responsible over their economic state.

SneakyThunder,

“Phisical removal” is a meme. Hoppe originally used the phrase when writing about people who ideologically oppose anarchy (in established anarchist society). And he didn’t mean a “helicopter ride”, he meant societal pressure, shunning, or in his own words " you’re not welcome here" attitude.

SneakyThunder,

You seriously gonna ignore “the Exploring Series”? www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9hv6NsWndM

SneakyThunder,

“Intellectual property” is not a real property, therefore its not “theft”

Private property was “invented” to avoid and resolve conflicts that arise from potential uses of scarce resources. As ideas are not scarce — they’re not property.

And that bs excuse about artists is laughable. IP is relatively new development, mostly enforced in western countries. And yet art existed throughout all of human history!

If anything, IP hinders creativity, and allows big corporations to monopolize the market.

SneakyThunder,

Wdym? ‘dir’ comes with coreutils by default!

SneakyThunder,

That mounting drives with their uuid as the mount location is insane

Why tho? Kernel sometimes can index drives in different order (if you have multiple drives), screwing your mount locations. But UUID is always the same

SneakyThunder,

Btrfs with compression can substantially “increase” capacity of your USB stick. IIRC I managed to fit 20-30% more data on 64Gb stick than its maximum capacity!

SneakyThunder,

Darkness is actually great in areas without light pollution! Like polar opposite to “depressing”

SneakyThunder,

It’s available in nightly (and I think dev) builds

Cult of the Dead Cow unveils 'Veilid', "a secure peer-to-peer network for apps that flips off the surveillance economy" (www.theregister.com)

DEF CON Infosec super-band the Cult of the Dead Cow has released Veilid (pronounced vay-lid), an open source project applications can use to connect up clients and transfer information in a peer-to-peer decentralized manner....

SneakyThunder,

How is this different from i2p?

SneakyThunder,

Maladaptive daydreaming is the best cope for real life!

SneakyThunder,

How do you prevent people from trading and owning property without violence?

SneakyThunder,

Ok, can you “educate” me why I need to get rid of my private property?

And fascists practiced economic policies of “corporatism”, not capitalism

SneakyThunder,

The possession of personal property can’t earn you any money

If I understand it correctly my laptop and 3d printer, are private property since I can make money with those…

SneakyThunder, (edited )

I’m not sure if thats required here, but it’s totally possible without asking for government permission

Edit: i might be wrong here because of “legal speak” language barrier, but if I understand correctly you can make money from your business as a regular person just fine (legally). There’s just a limit on how much you can earn before needing yo register as a business

SneakyThunder,

Thats sad(

There its ~25k$ IIRC. (Although doesn’t count net profit, just all money you recive)

But there’s huge gray market here, and I’m sure US has it too

SneakyThunder,

Angband…

Has the most unintuitive UI, turn based battles may sometimes take a really long time. Andit’s pretty long (because it’s hard)

SneakyThunder,

There’s nothing stopping VPN provider from doing the same

SneakyThunder,

They could sell your data to advertisers…

Care to explain how what I said is wrong? Or you just assume that you’re always correct?

SneakyThunder,

Ok. LMAO

SneakyThunder,

Your body uses electricity to send nerve signals…

SneakyThunder,

You might try flashing OpenWRT firmware if your router is supported. It allows changing DNS

SneakyThunder,

A bit of duct tape would easily counter this move

SneakyThunder,

For the people who are still alive! 🎶

SneakyThunder,

It’s clearly just sleeping

SneakyThunder,

8.75€ 100MB/s up and down - Ukraine

SneakyThunder,

And there’s me who just too f*cking lazy to do anything…

Fear would at least justify not doing anything :(

I prefer Wayland (.social) though

Context: Twitter is currently rebranding it self as X.com, which is the bottom logo. X.org is a FOSS implementation of the The X Window System which is being slowly replaced by the newer Wayland display server. Because of the Twitter rebrand Someone decided to make Wayland.social, to parody the X.org to Wayland transition.

People sticking with audio jack phones, why is USB-C earphones not a solution?

Don’t get me wrong. Apple removing audio jack was the biggest facepalm in smartphone history. And you can thank it for not being able to make an upgrade without sacrificing audio jack (and SD card too :/). But USB-C is getting standardized everywhere now (laptops, smartphones, etc.). What makes USB-C earphones not worth the...

SneakyThunder,
  1. I want to be able to charge my phone while using headphones
  2. My laptop doesn’t have USB-C
SneakyThunder,

LMAO. They got rid of headphone jack to “save space” and then replaced it with bigger USB C connector

SneakyThunder,

Tried to reconfigure some systemd services, switched to Artix (runit flavored btw)

SneakyThunder,

Literally living through war that tankies cheer for. With everything I managed to take with myself was a couple of hard drives and a spare clothes.

If anything that experience would make anyone want less government and their planning.

And what “advanced medicine and tech” are you talking about? That’s the things capitalist countries developed first (for the most part)

You’re delusional if you want back the system that most people who lived under it hate!

SneakyThunder,

What makes you so sure about that?

SneakyThunder,

“Abolished taxation”? So NK is ancap paradise now!

But seriously, this looks like troll post. They even included “cheap food” as one of the benefits
