I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds
I think we’re thinking about it wrong. These aren’t open source people looking to contribute to projects. These are product creators looking to reach the open source community. It’s not the same mindset.
I’ve never been a big user, but as I’ve grown older, pot has made me pass out more than once. I took a drag off of a joint at a festival a few years ago and passed out and couldn’t be revived for 5-10 minutes. They said my blood pressure dropped dramatically. I’m wondering if this happens to anybody else
This happened a few times with friends. They just dropped like a rock and then were pale for a few hours. It’s not uncommon but I would avoid smoking if it keeps happening. Being knocked out for 5-10 minutes is a long time. Passing out is generally considered a medical emergency.
Exactly! When you’re a teenager it’s hard to appreciate these things. I know I definitely took it for granted but I at least respected my family enough to not start an online game around dinner time.
Maybe the media coverage makes it seem worse than it is and everyday people aren’t nearly as impacted as it seems? I appreciate the criticism of us veiled as concern though, thank you!
It means a lot to me. That’s why I’m involved in local elections, have been to many protests, volunteer to teach code to kids, and do what I can to spread awareness of my concerns for future elections.
But both you and OP are too busy criticizing people for their apparent lack of action that you can’t be bothered to make a post that’s actually helpful.
I love the confidence here after stating you don’t use Twitch. Twitch changed the way they deliver in stream ads, it’s much more difficult to block now because it comes in as part of the video stream and not something added on top.
After watching this video, I’m tempted to give it a try myself. The idea of swapping out traditional CLI tools for Rust-based alternatives is intriguing, and I’m curious to know if anyone has undertaken such an endeavor....
It would though and their paper shows as much. The thing many forget is that it isn’t trained visually like us. Little input changes like this have a big impact.
Now eventually if everyone uses the same glazing method the training won’t care but at the moment this is bespoke enough that it can’t be trained well on it. It will always be an arms race though.
I’m the FAQ it claims it simplifies the news and “doesn’t make it more fucked up” but this was the headline on the page:

People made fun of the ad and the lines he said but people also don’t understand that he didn’t write it. Crypto.com was already going to fail by the time their crazy expensive ad came out. Matt Damon on the other hand seems to be doing just fine.
Live in the US. I saw the news covering it in 2019 and showing footage of people passing out in China. China was the one downplaying it to the world back then.
COVID mortality basically dropped to a rarity with the vaccine. You can also check public data and see the population of non vaccinated against vaccinated. There is plenty of data to show the vaccines are working. Don’t trust the talking heads, check for yourself!

This isn’t a Lemmy issue. Just write the title. Let people see if the sources are linked. People know they should watch before commenting. These are obvious things. Writing them out immediately makes me think I’m about to watch a conspiracy video.
The video is basically arguing that because you can technically control more things you can eventually make Android more secure due to freedom of choice. But most people won’t do those things. And you still get Google watching. It’s a dumb argument. And I say this as a big Android user.
