What I’m really excited for is being able to play games that are locked to 60 fps (like on emulators) at 120 fps, since I have a 144 hz monitor

Hopefully this will lead to them just using vapes instead of cigarettes and not them trying to illegally get cigarettes. I’m still on the fence on whether I think this law is a good idea in general or not but allowing them to still buy vapes / vape liquid is definitely the right decision IMO.

I really don’t get why people care so much about the political opinions of the devs, you’re just using the software they’re making and not hanging out with them or something

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

It’s not that big a deal…

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

not based

I really hope Libreddit switches to scraping, the “Error: Too many request” thing is so annoying, I have to click the redirect button in Libredirect like 20 times until I can actually see a post.

Still a better experience than Reddits official site tho.

I like the way it works in Gnome, where the scroll bar is very thin but gets thicker when you get near it

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

I’ve never had that issue but I’ve also grown up with flat design. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

I use Gnome and IMO it uses the space pretty efficiently, especially because it puts a lot of stuff in the title bar and doesn’t really leave unnecessary unused space

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

Is this thing about really wanting to say something when you think of it a sign of ADHD?

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

Those are primarly made for text posts and not image posts, which is what pixelfed is made for

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

Big issue with snaps for me has always been the proprietary backend and that they try to make a new standard instead of improving flatpak which most distros have alrady adopted

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

It doesn’t seem to be an issue on flatpak but idk if they’re doing anything in particular to stop this

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

Unity wasn’t FOSS? And they tried to make a non-FOSS window manager as well?

Fisch,

Linux receives updates forever. The point of LTS kernels is not to stay on them forever but to have to do less testing. It’s not very likely that upgrading kernels will break something but it can happen so businesses can stay on LTS kernels and continue to get critical security fixes and they’ll only have to update and test once a new LTS kernel comes out. The average person should use the regular kernel and that’s also the default on pretty much all distros

Comparing ChromeOS updates to LTS kernel updates makes no sense, especially since the LTS kernel can just be updated to a newer version if that specific version doesn’t get updated anymore.

People wouldn’t complain if there was nothing to complain about

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

I don’t think that’s true for the majority of people tho. I personally don’t have that issue at all, I actually watch less porn now than I used to (Was once a day at some point, now it’s once every few days) and it’s not like I’m getting old or anything, I’m still a teenager. And I have one friend who does it multiple times a day, cause he’s bored but everyone else I know doesn’t.

Smartwatches do have features an analog watch doesn’t have. I’m pretty sure OP already knows about the existence of analog watches.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

Controlling music without taking out your phone, health stuff like heart rate sesnor or sleep recording or whatever that’s called, being able to switch clock designs when you get bored of it

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

But people who would do this already do with their phones. I don’t think this will make much of a difference.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

That’s not even enough to satiate you. For that you need to buy a menu which is about 10€ here in Germany. That’s not cheap at all.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

I use the adminforge.de Piped instance and it works pretty much all the time

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

But then they could also just create new accounts, no?

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

You can delete videos on Peertube. They’re stored on the server the same way YouTube etc. do it. The difference is just that the Peertube servers federate with each other like Lemmy does.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

A lot of FOSS music streaming apps (like ViMusic) use YT Music because you can access it for free. Doesn’t make them any tho.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

I had an extension that disabled it because it was pretty useless but now I’m definitely gonna leave it enabled

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

I’m not even willing to use it for free 💀

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

It would also stop most regular users from signing up. This kind of stuff being free has just become the norm.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

Is ClearURLs even needed?

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

Have you tried Finamp? Haven’t used it much myself so I don’t have an opinion on that

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

And if your smart tv has some kind of browser, that works too

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

USB-C is just the connector, not a protocol

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

I mostly use it to ssh into my raspberry pi at home

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

What’s sauerbraten? I feel like searching that up won’t give me the results I want…

And btw, you missspelled Ublock Origin

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

And if you want a maps app that uses OSM, I recommend Organic Maps

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

I actually use Krita for all my image editing because I just find it more intuitive than GIMP

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

You can disable that, I did that too. I don’t have any issue playing h.265 or even AVI on any of my devices.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

For self hosting I recommend Yunohost. It allows you to install a lot of stuff with just one click but you can still install things manually if you want.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

You can also enable tabs, like in MS office, in LibreOffice. I find that easier to use than how it is by default.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

Actually they have. They now have HIP for AMD and it works great. I needed to install a package with the HIP driver to get it working in arch tho.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

Are you sure that’s the correct domain? My browser tells me it doesn’t exist.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

You have to change it for each user. Go to the users settings and scroll down, under Media Playback there are options to allow audio and video transcoding. I still have audio transcoding on but that doesn’t seem to cause any issues.

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

Why would that make a difference?

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

But even if you’re not using it, the power adapter will still push the same wattage, no? I mean, why wouldn’t it?

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

Only their phones are similarly priced and that’s only if you look at the most expensive android phones

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

And also a 120 Hz display, a lot of phones for around 400€ have that nowadays

Fisch,
@Fisch@lemmy.ml avatar

No. If I have to launch a flatpak through the terminal, I always just do flatpak list and copy the ID or whatever it’s called
