So it’s about balance annoyance and privacy again.

First i was a bit confused, but i quickly found a site i use regular which needs you to accept the cookies or buy premium.

There’s where stuff like Cookie Autodelete comes into play, they can have their cookie, but it will be thrown away the second their site is closed.

So you can use mode 2 for less annoyance and still throw them in the garbage

Contend6248,

Enjoy the little things in your life

Contend6248,

GM was never on the list anyway, i’ve tried a couple ones and i was always surprised how much money they want for their cheap ass interior

Contend6248,

Maybe some tech giant pumping money in a 3rd eco-system would help, i think it’s very likely to happen one day

Contend6248,

We literally already have Linux phones, but i would love to cut some bullshit in the middle and go more upstream one day

Contend6248,

Looks good, but if i wouldn’t know the origin, i might not know what this even is

Contend6248,

Contend6248,

Alternative? Jedes kleine Problemchen aus der Welt räumen?

Ja wenn das so einfach ginge

Sonst gehen sie doch ins Ausland

Contend6248,

Yeah i gave up after the second sentence

Contend6248,

I LOVE how portable flatpaks are, other than some lines from fstab i just want to set the rest of the system new anyway.

Thank fuck i don’t use anything super complicated, so switching is a breeze for me.

Contend6248,

Rockstar patented NPC showing natural behavior, eg. when feeling cold or hot

dsogaming.com/…/new-patent-filed-by-rockstar-may-…

No wonder that advancements of immersion in games are moving so slow compared to graphics when these dipshit companies patent every tiny thing.

That’s not innovation

Contend6248,

Yeah but you can often hack around it and accomplish something similar.

Patenting the use of the voice from the player or NPC behaving naturally are examples which just hurts the whole industry

Contend6248,

And even milk the console manufacturers maybe?

Fine with me, as long as the PC version is stable patched on release.

Contend6248,

iRobot and WALL-E soon to be facts

Contend6248,

Opt-out then, the majority won’t care

Contend6248,

Did you remove it or just switched the default to a different one?

I think it getting added again might happen in updates, if they change defaults that’s a whole other beast

Switching is enough for me and i didn’t had any weird behavior since years, beside the fullscreen VPN ad they did once

Contend6248, (edited )

Huh? It’s far easier, throw in your server IP+Port or DNS and quick connect your clients with a short code.

The bullshit claim solution by Plex makes me pull my hair out, especially on remote instances.

Even when running, it managed to break the database 3 times, with no repair tool of working, interestingly there are plenty, community built and official ones, so that problem is common.

Rebuilding takes a whole day with the intro-outro detection.

What a nightmare to administrate.

As someone who has bought a lifetime subscription a year ago i was enraged as my girlfriend told me that she got ads in Plex, turns out they just added their free streaming service in there without even asking, fuck them, Jellyfin evolved great!

Contend6248,

At that point i would be surprised if they didn’t

Contend6248,

That is my advice to the people not having a clue what i’ve wrote. You don’t want to tell me that people not able to setup Jellyfin are full aware of anything they are doing with Plex?

Not everyone should self-host, especially not people unable to watch a 10 minute setup tutorial of Jellyfin, or god forbid, reverse proxies.

Dumbing down self-hosting below the bare minimum is dangerous, but to each their own.

Wanted to share the libredirect Firefox plugin, for abandoning Youtube. (libredirect.github.io)

This is a plugin I found recently and really enjoy. It gives you the opportunity to redirect several webpages to alternatives. For example Youtube to FreeTube or Piped. If I search for youtube in Firefox, FreeTube automatically opens and shows me my feed. I like it, I use it, I can recommend it.

Contend6248,

I can’t talk about the official Firefox client on mobile, but i use Iceraven on Android and i can add “Privacy Redirect” which does essentially the same, but for less services

Contend6248,

LibReddit does work?

I use it with LibRedirect, sometimes they block instances, you can switch to the next one in the addon

Contend6248,

4k Max is so much faster than the Shield devices, i actually got upset that i invested so much money in two of them.

Contend6248,

Epiphany does look gorgeous, but it’s a horrible browser, breakage left and right on modern sites.

These web devs themselves do play a big role in this i guess.

Contend6248,

Cool project!

Would love AMD Linux support though, Stable Diffusion is fairly easy to install, but i just don’t like the Stable Diffusion WebUI

A Flatpak would be golden

I’m not sure it’s tech bros falling for the nuclear lie, it’s rather the wannabe rich invest boys in my experience.

The same people falling for NFTs

Langfristig haltbare Maus

Leidiges Thema.

Contend6248,

You don’t have an argument, you like not being able to do something, that’s peak brain damage.

Just don’t use it, but don’t sell something not working as something good.

Contend6248,

Your consile is a whole CoD machine now, only by accident, not that someone intended to do so

Contend6248,

What do you mean unused code, there are 3 complete unused games in there.

First glass bed failure with PETG

I have been printing with PETG on glass for a little while now, and have gone through almost an entire roll. Yesterday I had my first print stick so hard that it delaminated the glass :(. I stopped using hairspray as it made the prints not stick at all, and printing bare glass was just fine. But something about yesterdays print...

Contend6248,

Just clean it with alcohol (IPA), dishwasher fluid or glasses cleaner spray

Contend6248,

And even then, decide if you really need 20 addons really bad, less is better.

Contend6248,

Just use CanvasBlocker, it changes your ID randomly.

canvasblocker.kkapsner.de/faq/

Page X claims my fingerprint is unique.

Having a unique fingerprint is fine as long as it changes. With the default settings of CanvasBlocker the fingerprint should change all the time.

Contend6248,

No problem, faking instead of blocking canvas is the way to go, for example the new captcha by Cloudflare uses countless queries to check the browsers validity: blog.cloudflare.com/turnstile-private-captcha-alt…

I’m guessing that if you block it sites will either block you entirely or give you a fallback old captcha.

Contend6248,

To be more exact, ownCloud started as a community first project and they did pivot to a more enterprise facing project, starting to pack features behind a paywall and so on.

ownCloud Infinite Scale is almost a complete rewrite in Go instead of PHP, which is something very welcoming, because my instance starts to have subpar performance, i will test and find out if it’s worth the hype.

Contend6248,

I successfully spun up an instance now, took me some fiddling, but that’s me not knowing docker-compose too good,

You don’t need a database, it’s not using SQL, and they separate everything in different layers and microservices.

Compared to PHP ownCloud and Nextcloud this does feel like the next gen.

For better or for worse, i have yet to find out.

Contend6248,

Nextcloud does perform horrible, but i threw any extension at it i thought was useful.

ownClouds new microservice solution might solve that, but i can’t confirm it yet, of course it’s fast as a rocket now, it lacks features left and right
