I agree with you, they’re fine the way they are. But if they want to splurge on a new version, then why not, you know? I wouldn’t mind seeing the cast of the game rendered in full 3D. The one Falcom game (two really) that I think actually needs a remake is Ys 1 and 2, those games are just horribly dated by modern standards.

Not sure if a hidden gem or not, but WingetUI is pretty handy. You can manage software in winget, scoop, chocolatey, pip, npm and .net with a graphics interface.
I believe WingetUI already runs in silent mode, it suppresses most windows in my experience. You can define parameters for individual packages, but not globally as far as I know, you’d have to check the documentation or their github to be sure.

Can’t stand this Miyamoto quote. Not only it’s contentious at best (think of all the terrible games the kept getting delayed), it’s factually untrue since the mid to late 2000s when online patching for games became common practice across the industry.
I agree with the first impression aspect and I believe it’s important to get the release right because of it, but the phrase deliberately implies a bad game will always be bad which just isn’t true. “Bad impressions are forever” would be more accurate.

Seems like they’re missing the absolutely very important point that the target audience for The Sims doesn’t have NASA quantum computers to play their games. Sure it looks beautiful, but 99% of your audience won’t be able to play it unless you have Carmack himself doing arcane computer wizardry to make it run on a toaster.
That’s precisely my point. The vast majority of Sims players don’t have gaming PCs, hell the majority of them don’t even play any games besides The Sims. They’re primarily playing these games on crappy work laptops, most of them without any discrete GPU in fact.
