You should never under any circumstances interact with an animal unless you have the owners express permission. If you do, it will not be considered a good thing, it will in fact be a bad thing. It is imperative to seek consent first, preferably in writing if the situation allows.
TOKYO, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Japan on Sunday marked the 78th anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing on Hiroshima, where its mayor urged the abolition of nuclear weapons and called the Group of Seven leaders' notion of nuclear deterrence a "folly".
You can add –skip-launcher to the game launch options. I actually did it while debugging an issue getting the game to launch and have never even seen the launcher despite playing quite a few sessions!
It’d be nice not to have to tweak things like that but at least the option is there similar to Cyberpunk
Dammit, I’m away right now with spotty internet so I’ve been playing offline. I’m not doing my part! Looking forward to contributing many hours of playtime in the coming weeks/months though. Having a blast so far and I’ve barely scratched the surface.
It definitely sucks when it’s something you’re excited for. I’ve started to mind less nowadays though, there are so many games to play and picking it up after a year is usually not a bad general rule anyway.
They just assume you think like they do. Blindly loyal to ‘their side’ and unable to be critical of it because it’s so closely tied to their identity that any negative thing is like a personal attack directly against them. If you are equally against horrible stuff no matter who perpetrates it it seems to genuinely confuse them.
According to these new numbers from Valve, the Linux customer base is up to 1.96%, or a 0.52% jump over June! That’s a huge jump with normally just moving 0.1% or so in either direction most months… It’s also near an all-time high on a percentage basis going back to the early days of Steam on Linux when it had around a 2%...
Yeah that’s true, there’s also the maintenance burden to consider as well. It would be a pretty big departure for Valve though, Apple was always selling hardware but Valve wants to get their storefront in front of as many people as possible because that’s how they print money. They also want to get more folks gaming on Linux so I think the incentives right now line up pretty nicely for Valve to want other devices running their os.
We’ll have to wait and see. I personally would love to see more devices running SteamOS as well so I’m definitely biased!
I’m going into my last year of college and I kinda felt like I did college wrong. Like, my grades are good but everything else about college I failed at. Like socially and stuff, after 4 years I barely know anybody. I commuted(to avoid debt, and did so successfully) so maybe that’s part of my problem....
You can’t control the past so there’s not much point stressing out over it. Learn what you can from it and apply those learnings in the present where you can actually change things. If you feel you didn’t do enough social things, maybe try joining clubs, being more proactive with organising things with your friends or something else that works for you.
Everyone’s experience is different and it doesn’t mean you did it wrong, you just focused on the things that made more sense to you at the time. Maybe you are realising you didn’t value some other things enough and that’s ok, you can bring those learnings forward.
Congrats on coming into your final year btw and good luck!

Yeah same, played it for a bit and had fun. Adding it to the backlog of early access games to check out again in a couple of years, looking forward to seeing it develop!
People like that think this is a gotcha because they assume you think the same way as them. Picking a team and defending anything they do regardless of whether it makes sense. We can criticise the U.S and Russia, it doesn’t detract from the fucking horrible shit Russia is doing and must be called out on.
Thank you, Elon, absolutely genius business decision! I was really put off using a website with a highly recognisable and long lived brand, finally this solves the biggest issue I’ve had with Twitter since the takeover. It was such a huge issue before that it eclipsed everything else, I don’t even think there are any other glaring issues. Can’t wait to log back into Twitter now after this! Oh shit I mean … X or whatever.
Gotta sort by hot so you don’t miss out on those 3 year old posts with like one comment from someone 6 months ago confused about why the article is so out of date.
While it is easy to use phrases like “use critical thinking”, this is not easy for elders or cousins in families to be told, as this is not lucid to understand in a snap. It is essential for criticism to be easily communicable to ordinary people that watch Google Feed or MSN News daily, and I feel that such criticism is not...
Come on, mate. Hong Kong’s freedom index score is 42, USA is 83, Australia is 95 (source). At least try and avoid making things up if you want to seem like you’re having a good faith discussion.
Does that mean USA and Australia don’t have problems? Of course they have problems, big ones even, you mentioned some genuine problems here in your comment. That’s not the issue at hand though. Nobody is claiming these countries are problem free. It’s you who is claiming certain news outlets are untrustworthy propaganda pieces. You made a claim, got a reasonable response and now it seems you are gish galloping.
It’s starting to feel like you have an agenda though to be honest. I personally find your assertion that people who love BBC/CNN are incapable of criticising them quite unhealthy. We can and should be critical of things especially things we are fans of.
Hong Kong used to be at #3 while USA was at #17. How come the very day Hong Kong gets freed of UK colonialism after more than 90 years, and implements National Security Law to protect itself, its “freedom” drops down?
I think this would be useful for you to reflect on.
Also Wikipedia has a great article on Gish galloping if you’re in a country where you can access that.
Fair enough, I agree a lot of the western countries do messed up shit and should definitely be held to account. I just don’t have such a rosy eyed view of the dictatorships of the world either (glad you were able to circumvent the censorship laws while you were there btw although not sure why you would want to do that? Do you disagree with the states views?). I’d also suggest trying to stay away from the saviour retoric though, it’s never healthy no matter who is using it and in this case it just comes across as a bit of a bad joke if I’m honest, particularly as I don’t even live in a western country.
Anyway, India is a really beautiful place, wish you and your folks all the best.
Well, the warmongers don’t seem to be doing so well. It’s been well over 100x (coming up on 200x) of the initial timeline with no victory in sight.
With respect to your original statement though, we have now seen which sources were more accurate so we can judge more carefully who to take seriously in future.
What’s your hypothesis here? Some corrupt folks in Ukraine figured that maybe if Russia attacked and on the chance than the country could maintain a solid defence and assuming that western nations would be willing to send large amounts of military aid over a sustained conflict there could be money to be made? Seems like quite a dice roll to me let alone how they could exert influence over Russia to get them to invade. Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you’re suggesting but it seems pretty implausible to me.
