I don’t know if I’ve ever seen jokes about Indian food, but if you’re right I would guess it’s for the same reasons Taco Bell gets the same jokes - it’s still spicy by “mayonnaise is spicy” standards and (at least my orders) are usually bean heavy and that’s a lot of fiber by average American diet standards. The joke is really on us, not the Indian food.

If you’re looking at All or happen to be subscribed to all the communities that were posted to, you’re extremely likely to see the same post multiple times in a row in your feed. It’s kinda annoying after about the third time seeing the same post in a row, but if we had a lot more active users it wouldn’t be as much of a problem and cross posting makes more active communities which is good for growing Lemmy. Also, Lemmy could do a better job of handling cross posts and I’ve heard people asking for updates along those lines and I think it’s in the works but it hasn’t happened yet.

I usually sort and order by subscribed new, and since I’m subscribed to both memes and 196 I’ll probably see two of your cross posts in a row but it’s not a big deal. It’s an issue that’ll be solved in a future update of Lemmy and I think the guy complaining about your cross posts is the asshole here.

I’m like 95% sure I’ve seen that somewhere around Orlando, and the sign looks like a Turnpike sign, but the turnpike doesn’t go to Tampa unless you go turnpike to I-4…

EDIT: there’s a less crunchy image on Reddit, apparently FDOT posted it to Twitter. That is definitely a Florida Turnpike sign (sorry for linking to Reddit)

EDIT 2: Found the original tweet via wayback machine, which was deleted by FDOT (gee, I wonder why?) and it’s somewhere in Palm Beach County (Lyons Road to the Turnpike), not Orlando.

Can I get UberEats to stop recommending to "bundle" alcohol from a liquor store to your order?

It just annoys me because I’m not going to order it and I’m abstaining from alcohol. But there’s always some “special deals” being advertised by UberEats on alcohol, as well as meat, dairy and eggs. It’s like they’re really sleazy and desperate to hawk these products.

No, but it’s been interpreted in relevant cases already, the courts told Domino’s that their website needed to be screen reader accessible because of the ADA. That was in 2019 though.

I have Death and Taxes on Switch, it’s a fun little game that’s definitely worth playing if you get the bundle.

I’ve played a bit of Superhot on VR, and it’s one I’d definitely pick up if I ever get an Index, but I’m honestly not that interested in if it’s not VR, it’s not a genre I usually play.

I’ve got A Short Hike on my wishlist, that looks good, and some of the colony sim games look entertaining.

This isn’t significantly more revolting than a standard Bloody Mary; the entire idea of tomato juice is disgusting, it’s just thin and bland tomato soup and if you chill it it’s even worse. It’s a waste of vodka, not good vodka mind you, but you could have had a perfectly fine screwdriver with that vodka!

Agreed, also I don’t think there’s enough here to fuck around and find out with. The scariest animal I’ve had to deal with up here is my neighbors always angry papillon getting loose. There’s a thrill about seeing an enormous reptile staring lazily at you from an apartment retention pond, I bet bison would be fun too.

In hindsight, Disney’s policy of cast members being expected to smile on stage is one of the more strange and cult-y parts of that job. Haunted Mansion was a very popular attraction to work, and a surprisingly big part of that was because it was the only guest-facing job you weren’t expected to smile in.

I don’t know about Teams, but I work retail and the reason most of my store isn’t in walkie is because our Android devices will be getting walkie functionality “eventually” so the store can’t buy more to solve the problem we have now. I’m not looking forward to it because the devices are already buggy e-waste so adding one more “feature” to struggling devices is gonna suck.

Eh, Hutch got demoted to transit cop and then quickly got fired from that too, partly due to the drunk driving thing, and good riddance.

Also there was a Minneapolis cop who got busted for having an OnlyFans last month and she still might get fired for it. A cop having an OF isn’t one of my many complaints about my local police department.
