Yeah I’m of the opinion that unit tests are usually a waste of time and people should only write integration tests.

The only time I think unit tests are valuable is for checking edge cases when e.g. interacting with the operating system.

What’s the antithesis of Arrested Development, Firefly or The Big Lebowski? Those may never have ‘found their audience’ but over time seemed to recognised by everyone. What are the deep cuts that you liked but it feels like everyone has completely forgotten they even existed.

Did anyone try to return to reddit and notice it just didn't do it for you anymore?

So I’ve switched to lemmy since the reddit meltdown started, experienced quite some withdrawal symptoms, occasionally turned back to reddit, more often logged out than logged in. Now I am merely using Lemmy occasionally and by far not as often as I used reddit before. No more doom scrolling....

Yeah you can post fairly mundane shit on Reddit now and you’ll attract a down vote and extremely hostile response. Even in niche game communities where it used to be friendly.

There’s just a gap in my memory like going to sleep and not dreaming. The waking up was brutal though. I had zero context of anything around me but my brain was still fully functioning. It was weird. For context I was dead for half an hour and in a medical coma for a week or so.

I imagine that’s how the first true ai will feel. It still will “know” information, how to speak, etc, but it will have no idea wtf is going on

Edit: apparently people haven’t heard of CPR and doubt my claims.
