I do agree the Hamas attack wasn’t the start of this. However tactically it was incredibly silly, honestly what did they think would happen?
They gave Netanyahu, who was finally fumbling at the reigns after almost thirty years aan excuse to execute his wet dreams and all of Israel uniting behind him.
I see no way how they could have thought the attack would benefit their cause.
I appreciate that and I have equated the current war to the Warsaw ghetto uprising. I’m not an apologist.
However, as Sun Zu said, you must not interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake. Netanyahu’s might was failing. Israeli youth was rising up against him.
It’s not like they absolutely needed to do this right now, and they could’ve quite easily understood what the response would be (maybe not the entire extent).
Don’t you think that, however small, some action must take form?
When I was small there were two conflicts that dividend public opinion and were sure to last centuries, those bring the Israel-Palestine conflict and the Irish one.
I think that disengaging the murder spiral makes things better. Both the resentment of the Israeli youth against their more and more fascist government was an incredibly worthwhile step.
Hamas and Likud alle don’t like any two state proposals, that’s why this is happening.
I don’t know. I remember both Rabin and Sharon, who briefly gave some hope in the nineties. It never materialized but it’s hope I must cling to. Just like the Irish managed to put their para military ways aside.
The sad part of this attack is that that hoe is pushed back even further.
So call me naive or a fool, but I keep hoping for a new generation that distances itself from the spiral of violence. It’s a feint hope, that got even more so due to this new horrible episode.

I’m not pushing anyone, but if you keep seeing women as objects you’re just going about it the wrong way.
Re-conditioning yourself is the best way to go about it. Focus on improving yourself, that way you will get more confidence. If any interaction you have with women is about potentially having sex with them thats a problem. OP should stayed at the ‘not trying to hit on them and being glad someone liked his cake’ place, and build confidence from that. I originally though that it was an uplifting post when I read that, as he really feels like he got a skill that others admired.
Not not everybody that likes your cookies will like you personally too, but at least you know you have learned a skill that you can be proud of.
Im playing the devils advocate here, but wouldn’t you hear more about journalist families, as they have a larger following and platform?
I think the IDF nefarious and inhuman, but if a lot of people die then the only ones reported about are if their position in life is different from others. Journalists, aid workers, children bring more to a story, therefore reporting on them is more relevant (statistcally, I’m trying very hard to not let my emotions sway me in this conflict).
Journalists are a very small proportion of the population and are afforded protections in combat.
Absolutely. My point being that the scale and wanting manner of destruction and the general disregard of Palestinian life in this ‘war’ is so massive that it’s hard to prove intent in the case of the murder of the family of the journalist.
If those families are targeted specifically is another level of evil. But it’s hard to really prove that, was my main point.
Aide from that, the fact that families die at all, with almost no rationale that van be related to supposed military targets is in itself a breach of military law.
My closes brush with the law was years and years ago me and a friend ran into a bunch of cops while smoking a joint, we dropped the thing and played it cool and got away with some annoying questions....

Full transparency would be good. No one should fear to disclose how much they make. The boomer Maxim of ‘it’s nobodies business how much I make’ is a bit of a false modesty.
If you earn to little, wouldn’t you like to know, and if you feel like you eraan to much, you probably do.

There’s both a boatload of questions about Hitler that don’t involve the Holocaust and a lot of topics that would inherently do if you ignore that fact.
Every question regarding the Jewish people could be seen as linked to that genocide too, just like Armenians and Rwandese. Can there be questions about those people that don’t evolve the specifics of the particular genocide.
I learned a lot of the English language watching cartoons. You even can get a basic understanding of culture through them.
However the crusty nerd Japanese simp is someone using pop culture to try and become Japanese. It’s as silly as coming to America and dress as John Wayne and expect Texans to accept you a one of their own.
It’s not about language at all it’s about culture and a feeling of belonging. There’s nothing wrong with it in essence. Say a Japanese dude dressing as cowboy going to a bar will probably have a good time and get entertained by texan people loving their weird fascination.
However, should they go live there and expect to be considered a true texan, they will find out that it doesn’t really work that way…
You’re arguing against the most prolific tankie superposters on Lemmy. He’s one of the main voices of lemmygrad and that server and hexbears are virulent -what they call Marxist leninists- which is actually more akin to stalinist thought.
They support even modern day Russia, because it’s not really about communism, but about destroying western hegemony. And they are very fond of autocratic leadership and will defend to a point of sounding silly the benefits of communist autocracies (while often living in western democratic countries).
They are quite open about being overt propagandists and regurgitate arguments from red sails, so they have a wall of links and arguments to make it seem like they have a point. It’s very obnoxious to discuss with them as they are completely inflexible on their ideology.
