AceFuzzLord,

Or here’s a better title:

Rich trick everyone into believing that making them not pay taxes will somehow make the working class richer.

AceFuzzLord,

Just about every single digital service anymore that isn’t involved in piracy has definitely forgotten the silver rule:

To stop piracy more effectively, you need to be more convenient than the pirates.

Is it more convenient to pay whatever the price is for the individual sports subscriptions/packages/whatever, or is it more convenient to go to a single site to stream the games you want for free?

It’s why Netflix, in the early days of their streaming platform, helped curb piracy by a sizeable amount. You could watch what you wanted when you wanted all on a single application/website without worrying about potentially downloading an infected file or worrying about ads.

AceFuzzLord,

If you ask me (and nobody ever does for good reason), one of the only times an ISP should be pulling the plug on online speech is when you start linking actual malicious links that have a good chance of your grandma losing her retirement funds or your tech illiterate uncle getting a crypto miner installed on his laptop or something equally destructive.

AceFuzzLord,

Although I do agree they should have no insight, I’d rather the insight they currently have be used to actually block sites from bad actors than just spying on you to most likely sell your data.

AceFuzzLord, (edited )

I don’t know exactly how defederation works, but the megathread is currently hosted on Rentry in case you cannot view the piracy community link in app/website while signed in.

rentry(dot)com(slash)negathread

Be warned, though, that it could change if any government or corporation or whatever decides to go after it just because there are links to piracy sites.

AceFuzzLord,

It’s called nuking the service all together.

AceFuzzLord,

I’d absolutely love putting any of the absolute abhorrent music or art I make under that license if it didn’t mean a large corporation could come in and use it for their own financial gain.

AceFuzzLord,

Already one step ahead. Can’t say who had my number before me if anyone did, but I sure as hell ain’t getting rid of it unless absolutely necessary.

The Spotify Car Thing cost $100, but I can't use it anymore. (lemmy.ml)

EDIT: The only reason why I still had it at this point was because I could use it with other apps. However, now that my Spotify Subscription is cancelled, it doesn’t work with anything. It’s mildly infuriating because today, I can’t still use it with other apps like I was able to yesterday....

AceFuzzLord,

This type of shit is why I just want a vehicle with a CD player that can hold multiple discs. Then I could just burn my favorite music onto a few discs and not have to worry about not having paid to have access to the music I want and don’t have to worry about a song I dislike popping up randomly.

AceFuzzLord, (edited )

At this point, I’d be more than willing to use a Linux based distro that’s a full-on desktop distro scaled down for the size of a phone screen and made to work with a variety of phone hardware and just use something like Waydroid or whatever would be better for the few games and apps I actually use daily.

Though I feel we are very far away from that since the closest we have that I know of is Ubuntu Touch, which I don’t know whether it’s even still worked on or not. I’d definitely devote time or funds if I had either the know-how to make the dream a reality or disposable income to help fund it, though.

Sure there are AOSP ROMs that provide privacy and that do their best to remove all traces of gøøgl€ exist, but at this point I feel like we need more options like a desktop distro like experience for mobile. That’s just my unimportant 2¢ on the subject, though.

AceFuzzLord,

It always warms my heart when a single person is able to outsmart large multi-million/billion dollar tech companies like Nvidia and Rockstar. Really shows how piss poor these companies security can be.

I would definitely look to hire that kid with a high wage just to make sure he doesn’t hacke me again, if I were one of the companies he hacked into. Companies should really think about trying to hire these hackers because then the threats against them might go down ever so slightly.

AceFuzzLord,

I genuinely feel bad for the people who actually get ads online these days.

AceFuzzLord, (edited )

I would need to do a lot of adjusting for being made over a fire and do a whole lot of temperature, time, pot used, and ingredient amount/type used, but I could provide a cheesy tuna noodle casserole recipe.

Obviously this restarted civilization probably wouldn’t have canned goods, an oven, a stove, a 9x13 glass pan, a clock for timing, and spray oil, so I would have to adjust the recipe to account for all of that before submitting it for that type of book.

Though, what I assume would be the hardest ingredient to come by would definitely be the cream of mushroom and cream of chicken.

Edit:

Looked up what exactly goes into cream of mushroom and it still probably would be the hardest to get due to the diversity of ingredients depending on the recipe.

AceFuzzLord,

I should have been a bit more specific because the ones I use are pretty much just canned condensed soup mix.

AceFuzzLord,

They’re soups but I have only ever seen them as condensed canned soups. They’re one of those ingredients I’ve used plenty of times but couldn’t really tell you much more about them.

AceFuzzLord,

I’m all for being able to make your kid what you want, but I would definitely support a law in the US that stops you from being named these types of names that will get them bullied and picked on.

Whether it be Abcde or whatever the hell Ellon named his spawn, we could stand to have common sense naming laws to avoid the type of situation in this post going forward. And yes, I know it’s probably in the UK because it’s Daily Mail UK, but it’s a problem worldwide if you ask me.

AceFuzzLord,

I am so sending a copy of this art to my desktop to use as my Librewolf icon! Beautiful!

AceFuzzLord,

If I was in charge of one of these large AIs, I’d totally have it create the opposite of what OP got. I’d have it be some random eldritch horror creature any time anyone asks it to draw itself just for the fun of it.

AceFuzzLord,

AAAH, NOT INTO THE FOG!

BOLEK, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR DAMN MIND?

WE ARE SO CLOSE TO OUR DESTINATION, WE ARE SO CLOSE! LIKE, LITERALLY, RIGHT THERE! AND THEN YOU JUST DECIDE, LIKE A SADISTIC PERSON, TO TURN INTO THE FOG AND KILL US! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? YOU ARE A SADIST! I WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS! I WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM! THAT’S IT! CALL MY AGENT! I WANT MY AGENT!

AceFuzzLord,

Stopping the scam bots has always been like fighting a hydra. You kill one head and a million more pop up.

AceFuzzLord,

Ever since the whole chat reporting thing coming to mincemeat java edition, I have boycotted that for the Mintest game engine just because I ain’t willing to play a voxel sandbox game where I can get banned all because I feel like being an adult and saying profanity.

AceFuzzLord,

The only time I have ever gone back is when I’m looking something up and everything else that isn’t a r€ddit link doesn’t have the info I’m looking for, so I haven’t found it that hard to stay away since even then I’m not looking up much where a r€ddit link is necessary.

AceFuzzLord,

The whole internet at that point would be pretty much 100% ad and 100% unusable at that point with the “wEb InTeGrItY” bullshit they’re pushing.

AceFuzzLord,

This was totally my plan for when I inevitably switch to Linux as a daily driver.

It’s a solid plan if you just wanna play older PC games and don’t want to go through the hassle of trying to get them to install using a program like WINE.

AceFuzzLord,

The same way I am extremely skeptical on macrohard supporting right to repair bills, I am very skeptical of appl€ doing the exact same thing. Ain’t no way they ain’t gonna spin it in a way that forces you to either be stuck with macO$ or Bimbows so they can shut out both gøøgl€ and Linux/BSD/whatever else.

AceFuzzLord,

Couldn’t give you the exact game that got me hooked, but I have been playing for pretty much my whole life. Earliest I can recall that could have gotten me hooked is either Yoshi’s Story on n64 or some edutainment PC game where in one part you were moving pirate objects like a pyramid of cannon balls and other stuff away to clear a stone room.

Otherwise it could have been plenty of other games like some ps1 Egypt pharaoh themed game that was something like tetris or something similar.

AceFuzzLord,

I definitely had a few edutainment games I loved back in the day. Though closest I had to the Jumpstart series was probably just Hooked on Phonics. They used to be so much fun but now they’d just feel like a boring chore to play as an adult.

I also remember having one of the first 2 Rollercoaster Tycoon games on the family computer in the basement, but I couldn’t recall which one to save my life.

AceFuzzLord,

Saw something about this days ago and couldn’t find it. Definitely saving this post so I do not forget what this distro is called, again. Definitely wanna try this out via dual boot or VM in the future on a more powerful device than my current desktop and laptop.

AceFuzzLord,

Good to know.

AceFuzzLord,

EMPRESS may be a lunatic, but it’s not like we have any better options. If anything, I wish EMPRESS would teach the next generation of d€nuvø crackers and that they would be chill and just crack for the sake of piracy/preservation.

AceFuzzLord,

Imagine being so brainwashed you actually believe modern copyright laws allows for free speech. Does this person constantly live with their heads in the clouds or are they just naturally braindead?

Google's AI Bots Tout 'Benefits' of Genocide, Slavery, Fascism, Other Evils (www.tomshardware.com)

If you asked a spokesperson from any Fortune 500 Company to list the benefits of genocide or give you the corporation’s take on whether slavery was beneficial, they would most likely either refuse to comment or say “those things are evil; there are no benefits.” However, Google has AI employees, SGE and Bard, who are more...

AceFuzzLord,

Imagine scrapping large portions of the internet only to find your over glorified chatbot spitting out the pros and cons of slavery or putting people like Hitler on a list of “most effective leaders.” Totally something I would expect.

Also, even though a fortune 500 company spokesperson would totally say genocide and slavery are bad, I always assume they think the exact opposite since profit comes above everything else (including law).

AceFuzzLord,

I’m sure quite a few people can agree that we do not like the oversimplifying of logos. I know I sure as hell don’t. The old logo was so much better looking if you ask me.

AceFuzzLord,

If I was ever a parent of someone being taught anti-piracy lessons in school, I’d have to show him the error of the lessons by showing him the money I’d be saving by pirating and telling him that the money I don’t spend on large companies will in fact not kill them. Gotta set a good example.

AceFuzzLord,

The only store you should be bringing a non-servce, non-support animal is a pet shop, so I agree.

My desktop has roughly 350gb of a terabyte left after only a couple years. Definitely gonna have to delete a bunch of files in order to clear up space. That, and actually complete some of the games I started so I can uninstall them to save space.

Hell, I might even have to uninstall Portal 2 since it’s the biggest offender of all the games on my PC, if I recall correctly.

    Edit:

Just looked it up and Portal 2 is only taking up 12.94 gb where as Cities: Skylines is taking up 16.87 gb but that’s not the end of it. Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is taking up a massive 21.77 gb and Steam itself blows all of that out of the water, taking up 71.12 gb on my computer and is the largest program on it as well. Closet other non-game program on my computer takes up 70 gb less at 1.06 gb which is insane to me!

    AceFuzzLord,

With a block feature removed, you too can be absolutely hounded until you are forced to leave the site out of frustration, hopefully leading to an echo chamber circle jerk that kills the service by driving out a massive amount of people.

    AceFuzzLord,

I know the one mall in my hometown isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Sure it’s a far cry from what it probably was a long time ago, but it’s still a great place to go.

I hope it doesn’t close because it’s the most convenient place for me to go to get both bubble tea and copies of older manga.

    AceFuzzLord,

This is a new low if we are banning games like this in this world. I’m just gonna assume the people who banned it have never been to a casino once in their life, let alone seen a real slot machine.

    AceFuzzLord,

Right now I’m going to have to go with a tie between Brok and Graff from Brok the Investigator and the legacy soundtrack piece After The Flames by Josh Woodward from SuperTuxKart.

    AceFuzzLord,

Hahaha, my computer would catch on fire if I tried running Bauldur’s Gate 3.

Hell, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum Edition lags a little whenever I ride a coaster and the camera starts facing all the guests in the best park I have ever designed.

Happened last night and is probably gonna happen again when I eventually boot it up again to work some more on the park. Thankfully it doesn’t whenever I build my absolute monstrosities in the coaster designer mode.

    AceFuzzLord,

This is one big reason why I support indie titles and piracy more than ever. The whole “we can’t be financially bothered to put out a functional title on launch, but our shop with 60 DLC skins each coating $400 each works perfectly” mentality has driven me far away from ever paying for triple AAA titles again and is also why I will never play a remaster of any game outside of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

If you cannot be arsed to put out a functional title on launch, maybe you should be retired and sent to the ranch.

    AceFuzzLord,

Can’t wait for the future debate of whether normies put their brain in an apple, macrohard, or gøøgl€ device and be forced to view ads for the rest of their existence while not actually having control over themselves.

    AceFuzzLord,

If I were a teacher and saw that every duplicate handwritten letter looked very similar to the last few, I’d definitely either assume you have some form of OCD (or something of similar nature) or are using an “AI” chatbot and some writing tool to write for you and would probably wanna see you at some point to ask about it.

Only acception might be if a student uses one of those writing tools because of accessibility issues when it comes to writing.

    AceFuzzLord,

Before or after you cause a pandemic with our modern germs and illness?

Do you still write notes with pen and paper?

With so much note taking apps nowadays, I can’t understand why does anyone still write notes with pen and paper. You need to bring the notepad, book or that paper to retrieve that information, and most of the time you don’t have it in hand. While my phone almost always reachable and you carry when you go out. For those still...

    AceFuzzLord,

If I’m ever using my desktop at home, yes. I always have extra paper I can use as note paper for if I ever need to write something down, so I make use of it. I am never not around a mechanical pencil nor pen either, so that also helps.

    AceFuzzLord,

I’d learn a lot quicker if a few people keyed my vehicle than just leaving a note and I’d get a punishment I feel is deserved, so yeah. Sure I’d be mad, but I’d in the end feel they were justified in their actions.
