I’m not talking high, I’m not talking vibing, I mean absolutely covered in cookie crumbs baked....
Hello y’all, I’m at my wits end. I got the GoG version of BG3 (cause DRM free yay!), but for the love of me I cannot get it to work. I’ve done so much googling and so many workarounds, I’ve installed .net, I’ve skipped the launcher, I’ve used the alternate .exe, I’ve tried proton experimental and 8 and hotfix, but...
The steam deck feels very heavy holding it in everyway. It feels the heaviest in its hand grips. Does that feeling go away? It feels like I’m trying to hold a laptop.
I’m at a friend’s house for the night and was invited to an among us group. Installed among us and discord, had everything working (after a restart) within 10 minutes. I was shocked that simply adding a keybind for mute/deafen just worked. Yet another “it’s just a computer” moment. I’ll have to get that discord...
Sorting your games by date added to library is here!
Bazzite is an alternative operating system for the Steam Deck and for Desktop PCs that closely emulates SteamOS, with numerous additional features and improvements on top. We use immutable Fedora as a base, and allow packages to be layered and kept through updates unlike stock SteamOS. You can even print and change the language...
Got one!
And a SSD I guess....
How would you rate the OLED deck? Did you keep your LCD deck? Have you noticed any of the smaller improvements like a more responsive touch screen? Has the battery life improvement been noticable?
Note: This update is for the Steam Deck Preview channel, and includes new features that are still being tested. You can opt into this in Settings > System > System Update Channel....
P.s. Reddit mods deleted this because it “wasn’t related to the Steam Deck.”. This is my first post on Lemmy. Please be nice and at least let this languish in obscurity rather than remove it outright and cut off any hope of discussion. :(...
It causes a bunch of weird controller errors, such as when a controller disconnects (or if the deck goes to sleep), it can’t reconnect again....
I have found myself using my Steam Deck for everything. I sit at that old desk and play Counter-Strike when I’ve got time. I use it for paperwork as well....
So I’ve run mods on a bunch of different games which were downloaded and installed with the deck alone. No man’s sky, lethal company, Subnautica, etc. with generally no problems but some modding software run through wine had visual bugs but the games worked as intended....
Interesting review IMO, with colour accuracy comparison and benchmarks of DeckHD vs. original screen (and other “known good” screens)....
Yes, I know this is extremely stupid and impractical. I did this for fun....
Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 landed recently, and now I’ve had time to play with it here’s a look at how it runs on Steam Deck and desktop Linux after the update. The good news is: it runs out of the box with Proton. My testing has been with Proton Experimental....
Probably the easiest way to run it is with Vinegar, a Wine wrapper for Roblox. You can just install it from Flathub (or Discover on Steam Deck in Desktop Mode), make a configuration file in terminal to set it to Vulkan and then you’re good to go after that:...
So many times I forget to plug the deck or someone uses the charging cable for something else and I come back to play the next weekend and the deck is at 0%. Why doesn’t the deck have a deep sleep or hibernate mode on by default like my laptop or iPad?
I’ve got a substantial library of games on GOG and Epic that I wanted to play on the Steam Deck, and I’ve used the Heroic Launcher with some success to access a lot of my libraries on those two platforms, but managing the compatibility per game is a bit frustrating and sometimes after an update things break....
I apologize if this comes out weird, I've never crossposted from Kbin before. I hope it works....
