slazer2au,

Keep a phone as long as it gets security updates. A shocking amount of personal info is on your phone and you don’t want it popped

slazer2au,

End of billing would be a coincidence.

slazer2au,

As long as Mr Garibaldi is getting enough fibre.

slazer2au,

Yea, it sucks living in an area with hard water.

slazer2au,

We have a retroactive Google Sheet which pulled from Reddit years ago where we put our transactions in and categorise them. Lets us see where we spent money

slazer2au,

From a technical POV you can’t. The US is too well connected with many subsea cables to Europe, South America, and Asia.

www.submarinecablemap.com

In addition because the providers and cables are owned and operated by private companies the government would have a very hard time convincing telcos to do that.

Hell even internally you can’t with every major city having 2 or 3 places where providers can connect with Google, Amazon, Facebook, Cloudflare, Akamai. Not to mention all the private peering locations.

From a political POV, make legislation that says registered telcos must turn off telecommunications equipment connected to non US locations or black hole non us traffic when entering the country when requested by a government.

How often to you bail on a half-written post or response?

I have had a tendency since my earliest days on social media where I will get halfway or more through a response, and end up just cancelling it. Sometimes I feel like I’m just being to over the top with snark or otherwise don’t want to be that kind of person, but a lot of the time I’ll decide I just really don’t care...

slazer2au,

Well, when they have spent $425M on films so far and have raked in $1.8B no shock they will make more films.

slazer2au,

Currently 0. It is off as I am not home.

How often do you use "AI" to reply to your messages, if at all?

The recent chat bot advances have pretty much changed my life. I used to get anxiety by receiving mails and IMs, sometimes even from friends. I lost friendships over not replying. My main issue being that I am sometimes get completely stuck in a loop of how to formulate things in the best way to the point of just abandoning the...

slazer2au,

A livable wage after tax in the city where your CEO office is located.

slazer2au,

4 or 6 depending how many episodes we watch during lunch and dinner.

slazer2au,

If you mean right now, this moment. The X-Files theme tune.

slazer2au,

Can you imagine having to update your Blu-ray player each time a new movie came out?

slazer2au,

Na, according to TOOOL as long as you are picking locks you own or have expressed permission to pick you are fine.

slazer2au,

The bane of any Cities Skylines player when setting up roads wrong.

slazer2au,

No, I’m giving it a year to bake first.

slazer2au,

Na, username worked out like a charm.

slazer2au,

As a nerd, I like the posts that admins put out showing usage stats and upcoming system changes. Nice to know if I plan to host my own instance for myself.

slazer2au,

Na, anyone working in the IT field knows that computers mean anything with a cable attached to it.

slazer2au,

When Aragon kills the Urakai leader in FOR the audience cheered, which I found weird. Then when the film ended there was a collective awww.

slazer2au,

Honestly, none.

Between the random wildlife encounters from living in Australia, to nearly being by lightning, the teen/young adult “cringe” stuff, and high risk work of working on radio towers. None of it haunts me.

slazer2au,

I disagree with the immoral or malice requirement to get PTSD. A wild animal attack that causes someone to have panic attacks when going near that area didn’t have any malice or immoral actions take place.

slazer2au,

How are you for Business Sims?
Big Ambitions is a fun early access game made by the same dude as Startup Company and is actively being developed.

You run around 4 areas of New York setting up and running various retail and office businesses ranging from fast food, gift shops, clothes store, green grocer.

slazer2au,

I let the apps have a chance, but if they drop a notification when it wasn’t needed I remove the privilege. Unless it’s a game, then it’s insta muted.

slazer2au,

It is also a software switch in the keyboard. Find the key that has the FN inside a padlock and it will switch the dual purpose keys to regular keys.

slazer2au,

It’s not about matching, it’s about preventing Adobe from getting money. :P

slazer2au,

Are you sure? A fair chunk of the internet is run through AWS making avoiding them much harder.

slazer2au,

Had one customer when working for an ISP would call anytime he ‘felt like’ his internet was slow. No shock, each time he called was because someone else at the office was working and using the internet correctly. As the contract renewal came about I recommend we don’t renew his contract and cut ties, the boss was confused about this because this discussion never came up before.
I showed the boss the customer ticket history and how we are loosing money on this customer after considering support costs.

The boss agreed and oh boy the client wasn’t happy when we told him.

slazer2au,

Yellowcard. Saw that one coming.

slazer2au,

I tend to start sentences with “So,” in emails and that just doesn’t seem professional.

slazer2au,

Best way to go about getting CompTIA certifications?

I’m looking to get the A+ and Networking certs only because I’ll probably be laid off soon and I want to make myself even more marketable. Right now I’m a software developer with 8 years of Java experience, and from my initial studying I think the certifications shouldn’t be too hard....

slazer2au, (edited )

if you are a software dev then I would say go for the CCNA and DevOps certs.
After that go for an AWS or Azure AZ-900

slazer2au,

As with everything it depends. Would I trust ClamAV over McAfee or Norton? Hell yes.

Would I trust ClamAV over windows defender? probably not.

slazer2au,

Not without knowing what you mean by reliable.

Reliable at detecting malware? ClamAV would not do as well as Windows Defender.

Reliable as in the code is safe from bugs? I can’t read that kind of code so I can’t compre them.

slazer2au,

Local - New

Then once that is consumed I move to All - New

slazer2au,

Around the back of the cop shop.

slazer2au,

Now, send a gpdr deletion request because Google still has your data.

slazer2au,

Why are you bringing Bethesda into this?

/S

slazer2au,

Yea, I hope the Sue’s do a colab in the future.

slazer2au,

There are extended cuts of the hotel task on the YouTube channel.

Nothing about a champion of champions yet, there is a new year treat though.
