With any AV product how “good” it is to you is ultimately subjective, but the fact that crinical was objectively pointing out differences in the same model of IEMs along with Ball’s refusal to show their graphs makes it quite obvious that Campfire had some serious QC issues that they were hiding. Talk about laying it bare.
TIL there are people that take the collecting of expensive, single-purpose watches more seriously than any hardcore gamer takes their favorite game. Now I want to see somebody to bombard their community with ads for the cheapest shit-tier kids’ wristwatches and Chinese knockoff brands available.
Go to reddit.com/r/watchescirclejerk for the people who realize how ridiculous it is to take collecting jewelry so seriously. They’re watch enthusiasts who realize how stupid it is to be a serious watch enthusiast.
It’s hilarious. Because watch culture is filled with some of the most pretentious and self-aggrandizing people you’ll ever meet.
I own basically the cheapest mechanical chronograph watch in existence and I love it. For 250 bucks you can get a "Seagull 1963" watch from China on Amazon.
It's actually a really nice looking watch with a glass case back so you can see all the gears in the movement. It was designed by the Swiss company Venus a long time ago and they sold it to a Chinese company at some point where it got copied by a bunch of other Chinese companies.
You might find it under a different brand name. Mine is the "Seakoss" variant. They come in a bunch of different styles and sizes so pick whichever you prefer.
Sure maybe it's not great to be supporting China but so much stuff we buy comes from China anyway so I don't think about it too much.
I wanted a mechanical watch so I could admire the gears but I wasn't about to drop many thousands of dollars on one so this thing fits the bill.
That's just how it is with luxury brands. Either someone just knows all the specifics, from type of leather used, to specific types of metals, from being in the industry or being brought up with it, or someone doesn't care and can just afford it. You could do the same not just with watches, but plates, or wallpaper.
I cannot begin to tell you how fucking vindicated my twelve year old, Warrior Cats obsessed, Ashfur-hating self is after reading this write up, lol. The first internet argument I ever had was over this incel kitty. Got my first ever ban, from the Official Warrior Cats Forums^TM, over him, too. I never understood how anyone could find him sympathetic, let alone hot (yes, tween girls unironically found a cat hot, and no, I'm pretty sure most of them weren't furries). Over fifteen years later, and... yeah I still don't get it, lol.
Also, for anyone who's wondering WTF a kid's series about cats is doing having such a dark plot line: this is pretty much par the course for Warriors. I've heard it described as "Game of Thrones for tween girls", which is pretty bang-on. War crimes, child murder, torture, graphic depicitions of childbirth (err, kittenbirth) and gruesome battle wounds, adult themes like infidelity and emotional abuse discussed at length, and that's just the stuff I remember from the first arc off the top of my head, fifteen years later!
Automatic reposts are terrible for everybody browsing New, I’d suggest not adding such a bot.
But for my communities, I do allow manual Reddit reposts and ask users to add [Reddit] in the title. The idea being that in the future, when third party apps allow filtering by keywords, people who do not want to see them can just add [Reddit] to the blocked words list.
What if the bot was programmed with conditions. Like it has to hit some sort of upvote criteria? (Not even sure that’s possible without API, but just a thought)
That’s a good point about the filtering and I think I’ll see about implementing that. I don’t expect people to totally abandon the subreddit for this community so it’ll be nice for people who use both to filter out reposts when filtering presumably eventually becomes available. Thanks for the suggestion!
Far as the bot goes I’m not interested in one personally, but I did see a post asking for it when I joined the community here. But I agree I don’t think it would help the community grow, but just make us a mirror for the subreddit.
I think that ended with the exact bang it needed, one that shut down random-ass speculation. I read no solid evidence of actual fraud anywhere in that entire account. Just some bad poker, which is admittedly fishy smelling, but only fools try to judge guilt based solely off smell. The internet is, of course, jam packed with fools as we all know very well. But that doesn’t mean she cheated.
Oh, and giving the money back was a terrible idea. So is interpreting it as some kind of solution for being caught cheating, which I don’t think many people would think of. When caught cheating people usually double down on their claims, not relent.
Get ready for more unhinged shit like this soon because the only reason this show exists was the 2007 writers strike. If it weren’t for them introducing the financial instinctive of golden stars I’m pretty sure it would have turned into Lord of the flies. The first episode they were all at each other’s throats and the dynamic changed after there was a prize to be won by working together.
I’m expecting more crazy reality and game shows soon. And maybe AI tv too. Either way it’s going to get weird fast. The studio executives all think of themselves as creatives and they will throw out every insane thing they can think of to get your attention.
Pretty much, except this doesn’t have a hilarious lawsuit.
Making matters worse for Carlsen, Niemann embarrassed Carlsen by playfully taunting him during his post-match interview. Notorious for his inability to cope with defeat, Carlsen snapped. Enraged that the young Niemann, fully 12 years his junior, dared to disrespect the “King of Chess,” and fearful that the young prodigy would further blemish his multi-million dollar brand by beating him again, Carlsen viciously and maliciously retaliated against Niemann by falsely accusing Niemann, without any evidence, of somehow cheating during their in-person game and demanding that the organizers of the Sinquefield Cup immediately disqualify Niemann from the tournament.
—Page 3
Niemann’s a native English speaker so there’s no funny, overly aggressive fail at English to laugh at like with Tigran Petrosyan, but this is really self-aggrandizing in the most entertaining way.
Except the opposite, where people showed that Niemann’s moves did line up very well with computer chess engine moves, and the strategy he used to defeat Carlsen was not something he could have prepared for in advance.
She (Kelly) got exposed for tweeting antisemitic memes and even touring an abandoned nazi camp while cracking nazi jokes & wearing a red arm band... stole her dad ashes to mix into paint. scammed $10K from a go fund me that was meant to fund her family member who died cuz suicide funeral, instead spent the money on herself.. ( plastic surgery i think) ... supported known rapist & pedo David vanity .. theres a lot more, like a lot more.. but she isn't mainstream enough to make the drama channels
There's a tv presenter on NHK Japan wearing these dresses. She does the Japan railway journal show with a university professor. Gorgeous dresses imo. Too bad they went out of fashion.
Wow. Nearly 4000 words and I never felt like stopping reading. Well written. Eye opening, even if I already knew he was considered an ass. Thanks for reposting. I hadn’t seen this before. Points for attribution, too. That’s a classy move.
Bro welcome to the club that’s how it all starts. Pretty soon you’ve got two cases full of watches and you never stop eyeing that countertop in Zales or whatever jewelry store
