supercriticalcheese,

No worries you will see it in 2024 as well!

supercriticalcheese,

Well it was all downhill after that, so not sure it was great you know!

supercriticalcheese,

Food is a dead serious matter in Italy!

Will the world ever stop being anti-intellectual?

One of the most aggravating things to me in this world has to be the absolutely rampant anti-intellectualism that dominates so many conversations and debates, and its influence just seems to be expanding. Do you think there will ever actually be a time when this ends? I'd hope so once people become more educated and cultural...

supercriticalcheese,

OP’s point is valid throughout for most of the white shaded counties as well

supercriticalcheese,

You are not going to get a more constructive criticism from OP.

I use mainly ddg but I have occasionally needed to switch to Google, but it’s happening less and less.

But then again with Google you need to frequently add keywords such as discussions or Reddit to find something that in the word’s of OP doesn’t suck balls.

supercriticalcheese,

This has nothing to do with the ozone layer in the stratosphere, but pollution in cities and industrial areas.

mr_MADAFAKA, to steamdeck

Top 20 games played on Steam Deck in the past month, sorted by playtime.

@steamdeck

supercriticalcheese,

Yea that’s might be it, it is the case for me at least. Cyberpunk 2.0 and BG runs quite okay for me on Steam deck, so I am not compelled to update my PC yet.

Of course on PC it would always be much better, but I am holding on to setup a home office in my apartment first and that might not happen soon.

supercriticalcheese,

Dunno where you are OP but here is Thursday.

supercriticalcheese,

Script, actors and viewers will all be AI.

supercriticalcheese,

I just realised I had purchased the first one on Steam but never played it.

supercriticalcheese,

Within the next 100 years it’s a nearly 100% mortality thanks to the 5G receiver by Bill Gates, checkmate!

Don’t ask the French (Police) what happened in 17 October 1961

supercriticalcheese,

In this case it seems farmers. Maybe it’s just posturing for appeasing them.

Extract from the Economist:

Eastern european countries have been among the staunchest supporters of Ukraine since Russia invaded last year. But that solidarity has frayed over the issue of agricultural exports. European Union member states that border Ukraine have argued that the duty-free import of Ukrainian produce to the bloc has caused havoc in their own markets

supercriticalcheese,

It might be just internal politics before an election.

supercriticalcheese,

It doesn’t bother you looking up or are you a giraffe ?🦒

supercriticalcheese,

I never seen a standing desk honestly, I thought it was a meme more than anything else.

supercriticalcheese,

That’s quite a challenge 45 minutes in hot weather. Specially if there is not shade

supercriticalcheese,

Possibly or possibly not. You might end up rich though

supercriticalcheese,

Unions are all workers friend, but they are not your advocate. If your salary is up to the agreed national contract and there is little they can do.

it depends on the country, and where exactly you work, but in many countries (ehem Italia) they are somewhat too comfortable with the company management to be effective at their job.

supercriticalcheese,

Not a very good one.

Hydrogen density is too low, there is more hydrogen in things like ammonia or methanol. All of these are potential solutions to fossil bunk fuel or LNG, but all have issues and there is no clear winner yet.

supercriticalcheese,

I see your point but the proportions are wrong. Wiki says that ~15,000 km are electrified out of 29,900 km

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rail_transport_in_France

supercriticalcheese,

No it’s not stored as liquid BLEVE is not a concern here, but there is plenty of issues with explosivity and very high preasures which can be 300-500 bar (~atm) depending on the application.

supercriticalcheese,

okay so it’s just counting the small/branch lines not the whole network.

supercriticalcheese,

Open world games can be played in a lot of different ways depending on your playestile you might care or not care about it’s limitations. So just because feature X is missing doesn’t mean it would matter to everyone or it’s automatically a bad game.

In those Reddit threads almost everyone seemed like they had second hand information or it was just a meme that was constantly repeated.

supercriticalcheese,

Yes that was the loudest portion of the complaints for sure.

Marketing also hit the create overhype button one too many times. Maybe given the topic, genre and time of release it would have create overhype anyway, but its a moot point at this point.

supercriticalcheese,

What were people saying about Stadia? I hardly heard much about it before google pulled the plug.

Atheists, is there anything religious that sticks with you to this day?

I am Ganesh, an Indian atheist and I don’t eat beef. It’s not like that I have a religious reason to do that, but after all those years seeing cows as peaceful animals and playing and growing up with them in a village, I doubt if I ever will be able to eat beef. I wasn’t raised very religious, I didn’t go to temple...

supercriticalcheese,

That’s pretty much why these traditions are there, just like people don’t actually believe in Santa similarly you don’t have to believe in Jesus to enjoy a winter holiday/break and excuse to see friends and family

supercriticalcheese,

It’s typically shortened as t. So a mass of 1,000,000 kg will be referred as 1,000 t

Normally it’s clear from the context and what units you are using so there is no ambiguity.

supercriticalcheese,

The official definition of a 1,000 kg is Mg but it’s not very frequently used in practice. Mostly because use of metric tonnes was already diffused

Keep in mind that there is more than just SI units used in Europe in the past. For example if you read through an old thermodynamics textbook in Italian it is likely to use a lot calories and often the CGS system (centimeter grams second and calories).

supercriticalcheese,

I think it’s mostly down to the fact the units could be mixed when written down.

Mg and mg should not create confusion in theory the standard milion prefix in metric is a capital M.

supercriticalcheese,

I only ever encountered Access was once many years ago and I was warned that it had issues with multiple users.

supercriticalcheese,

Well excel nowadays doesn’t have issues with concurrent users if you have office 365 like many companies do.

At that time it was Access with the files located at a company shared drive, the issue was concurrent writes I believe.

supercriticalcheese,

Anything else omelette with pineapple?

supercriticalcheese,

I bet someone has this kind of measurement where a lot of manual labour is needed.

supercriticalcheese,

Are you a bear per chance?
