ramble81,

Developer should have just responded with “Yep, we’re making a Wolverine game. Yup, this is what some of it looks like. Yes, things will change since it’s not the final product. Look forward to its release!” and moved on. Control the narrative and don’t give the hackers any money. They indirectly did this by letting the deadline pass at least.

Edit: now the employee info. That’s not cool.

ramble81,

With all my phones the battery and system just start going weird around the 3 year mark. That’s usually when I get a new one.

ramble81,

Funny enough I had a feeling it’d find down to these too. The owl made famous by Harry Potter vs the owl of many faces.

ramble81,

My thought is that the snowy owl wouldn’t even be in the running if it weren’t for its fame from the series. The white faced owl really stands on its own.

ramble81,

Sinfest. It used to have some great strips and the art was unique and then it veered into full on hard right terf territory.

Action: skirt congress rules to give Israel shells to continue bombing indiscriminately

Words: You need to change, you’re losing support.

Which is it? And can you guess which speaks louder.

ramble81,

So how many Steam decks have been sold?

ramble81,

Thank you! I wonder if they could get an overall count of all Linux players, not just the Steam deck

ramble81,

Nope, there are SIX movies. The first two and four sequels.

ramble81,

Just like TNG it starts picking up in the 2nd season and really hits its stride on the 3rd season. If you were to rewatch TNGs first season without the nostalgia goggles you’d consider it pretty campy too.

ramble81,

Lady and the Tramp. Had to have been a re-release because I definitely wasn’t alive in the 50s. Don’t really think much because I don’t remember much except the spaghetti scene.

ramble81,

Fall out of my chair, but otherwise unaffected as I end up on the floor.

ramble81,

I’m reminded of this

ramble81,

If you do this in the left lane and cars are passing you on the right, you in fact are the asshole.

ramble81,

Wounds heal from the inside out. Once bleeding stops it means that it is effectively “closed” as the inside is no longer leaking out. The rest of that is just the layers of skin repairing itself from the bottom to the top.

So as others have said, when it stops bleeding is when it’s “closed”.

Why would your first wife meeting your second wife be awkward? Did she expect you to be celebate the rest of your life? Did you run away with your second wife? Or never tell your second wife about your first? Now I’m curious.

ramble81,

Joys of autocorrect.

ramble81,

They’re starting this off on the EQS which are usually bought by people less sensitive to money. For them, $1200 for more power will be an afterthought and they’ll pay it. That will get it entrenched before they push it down the stack.

ramble81,

This is a big reason Google wanted to push the whole “web integrity” thing. There would have been no way to use an adblocker after that and they would have won the blocking wars. It’s bad enough they’re gimping Chromium with Manifest v3, but they tried for it all.

ramble81,

And I bet they’re still all trying to sell at an astronomical price. Someone will blink first and then things will start falling. The question is how long will they try to hold out.

ramble81,

Android accounts for 70% of mobile devices worldwide. Not the 99% listed but still the majority share.

ramble81,

Evil is when you get two kids that order nuggets you only put an extra in one and watch them fight over it.

ramble81,

“Stuffing” and “mother-in-law” are generally two words you do not use in the same sentence.

What part of sunlight causes algae to grow?

I’ve been trying different searches but everything I find just says “sunlight”. Since sunlight consists of multiple parts such as UV, Infrared and the normal visible spectrum, I’m curious which part is actually responsible for photosynthesis to occur? On that note, depending on what part of the light, would it still grow...

ramble81,

Awesome, so if I’m reading that right UV can contribute to growth, and IR doesn’t contribute much at all. The blue and red end of the visible spectrum encourages growth, however it can pretty much occur at any visible wavelength, just not as efficient as the bands listed on the image.

ramble81,

Have to post highlights, given that people weren’t allowed to watch it in person. Also heard they weren’t giving refunds either after kicking them out after 8 minutes of actual track time.

ramble81,

So I’m a bit torn on this one… your taxes pay for firefighters and police. However you have to have insurance in emergencies should your house burn down and you want to rebuild, or should something (like your car) get stolen. In all cases, you’re paying to support the infrastructure that provides you a safety net.

Without getting into the social economics of what in this world should actually be free, not paying for this seems to fall outside of that as the person refused to pay for the safety net until it was needed. That’s like trying to go to an insurance company after an accident to get coverage for that accident.

ramble81,

“I’m reversing it, and you’re reversing it back… We’re confusing the polarity!”

ramble81,

Guess I’ll hold off on changing up my plans. I was having trouble switching to the Duo plan anyway and no one could help me.

ramble81,

In the never ending arms race of trying to stop adblockers they’ve probably screwed something up or made it so bloated it’s slowed down.

ramble81,

So unless I missed something, I didn’t see any place where the BBC went after the collectors for illegal recording. This sounds like they’re scared of something that hasn’t happened and, at least in this case the BBC is very happy to have found a copy.

ramble81,

There’s a reason commas are important people.

ramble81,

You just like the corkscrew….

ramble81,

That’s why self hosting constantly gets brought up. If someone has direct access to the database (I.e the instance owner) they can see all of it for that instance. But a general admin on that instance can not see it.

Likewise, the ActivityPub format that is used to connect instances, only really sends things like posts, comments, votes, etc. this is why you can’t log in to another instance and retrieve things like your saved posts.

So if you want the best privacy, and no one to see you’ve been closetly saving furry porn, host your own instance so you have control of access to the database.

ramble81,

The Devil is a Part Timer does that.

ramble81,

Weird. I have a series 9 and this thing sips battery. After a full day I’m down to maybe 60% and that’s if I heavily use it.

ramble81,

Do they wear out because they’re exposed to the elements and movement, or because of their material? I read that as “what if you were to put a hose in the wall?” Would its rate of degradation be the same as say a pvc pipe?

Solving Steam Deck Shader Storage with a 61.44TB SSD (www.storagereview.com)

The essence of this unconventional amalgamation lies in its absurdity. We chose the Solidigm P5336 enterprise SSD, offering a staggering 61.44TB capacity. While the capacity is amazing, it leverages an enterprise U.2 form factor, which is problematic given the Steam Deck’s M.2 slot. As such, an M.2 to external U.2 adapter from...

ramble81,

3D print a custom back for that and make it portable again. Though I wonder how much power the drive consumes.

Edit: NM, between the external power supply required and the fact the first picture is it just sitting on the Steam Deck and not actually integrated, you’d be carrying it around extra. Maybe mod the deck and put the drive in a housing so it’s easier to hook up.

ramble81,

When you switch prepare to lose all your Signal messages. Transferring SMS and WhatsApp is a pain too. Photos will transfer but you’ll have to set up albums again. A bit of growing pains, but no looking back.

ramble81,

If you get AnyTrans you can transfer WhatsApp after the fact. That’s how I got mine across.

ramble81,

Yes I did, which is why I know some of the pains, but overall I’ve liked it.

ramble81,

Okay, so gifs work the same as images. The problem seems to be with mp4 files

ramble81,

because he’s just going to do whatever he wants regardless of what you wish for.

ding, ding ding and there in lies the inherent issue with genies. People only think they’re doing what you wish. Their goal is to creatively screw you over.
