Mary Kay Letourneau's father, John G. Schmitz, was an ultra-conservative politician who began his political career in 1964 and successfully ran as a Republican for a seat in the legislature.

He was known for his involvement in conservative political causes and was a prominent figure in American politics. In 1982, it was revealed that he had fathered two children out of wedlock with a former student, which deeply affected Mary Kay Letourneau.

"It is worth getting inside Trump’s head a bit and imagining his mood following an election victory. He will have spent the previous year, and more, fighting to stay out of jail, plagued by myriad persecutors and helpless to do what he likes to do best: exact revenge. Think of the fury that will have built up inside him, a fury that, from his point of view, he has worked hard to contain. ..."

I don’t know for sure, but I think “niche” is another way of saying “doesn’t rely on algorithms to suggest and promote content to users”, which is true.

In that sense, it is niche.

It means that the product requires intentional user effort to curate and perform, rather than have that offloaded to the code, which is also true.

Product ecosystems which rely on user effort are “niche”.

I could be wrong, but I think I’m directionally accurate.

in - Annie Besant (nee Wood) was born in 1847. Annie was born in London, and married at age 20, but the marriage fell apart in a few years. She separated from her husband and began to write - she was an ardent supporter of worker's and women's rights, even publishing a book on contraception (for which she was put on trial and custody of her daughter was given to her ex-husband). She advocated for Irish and Indian Home Rule and independence.

In my observation, colorism also exists in Asian, indigenous, and Latino cultures, as well.

Yay, ? 🤦🏻‍♂️😬

The anti-abortion crusade (because that’s what it is: a pre-modern overtly violent Christian campaign to conquer The Others™) is a vestigial throwback to ancient Roman policy of “partus sequitur ventrem” which became English common law, and the American colonies adapted it to weaponize sexual violence against people who were considered property (i.e. chattel slaves).
