I'd still rather watch that than most of what's on tv. I missed DS9 and Voyager cause I quit tv in the early 90s. I missed a couple other shows cause of that, but I don't feel like I've missed out.

I'll take Code of Honor over NCIS Botswana or whatever every single time.

I'll add Seven and Raffi. I saw them playing handsies at the end of whatever Picard episode that was, and thought "Where did that come from?!" Watched again a few months later, and I still don't know. They were barely aware of each other, became 'a thing' and broke up in the course of a single episode and the off season :^D

Maybe. I don't have a good concept of "seasons". I start at s01e01, and finish where I finish. I feel like ranking and judging kinda takes away some magic. They all have stuff I like, even in the "bad" seasons, so I take them as entire packages.

I have /series/ I might be willing to rank, but even there I run into problems. I think Voyager is inferior to DS9 & TNG, but I like it just about as well, just cause... :shrugs:

I love Shattered. It's one of my favorite Voyager episodes of all. I like the retrospective juxtaposed with Janeway seeing it all for the first time.

And yea, Chakotay was way underdeveloped, even for a cast that was largely undeveloped unless your name was Seven or Janeway. It kinda worked for me cause I love Seven and Janeway, but it would been a better show had the rest of the cast been given more depth.

I like it a good bit. Lots of retro charm like TOS. It's pretty lacking compared to Lower Decks or Prodigy, but it's fun, and it's only two seasons. Easy to watch without a huge commitment, and you can say you saw it.

@allstartrek I’m a few hours into the audiobook of A Stitch in Time, written and read by Andrew Robinson, who played Garak. It’s a memoir (read in-character!), finally giving backstory in-between bits about trying to help in the recovery immediately following the fall of the Dominion. It’s really good so far, references character details I think the show writers had long since forgotten, and is probably best with season 7 details fresh in mind. #StarTrekDS9 #AllStarTrek

I really enjoyed the audiobook. Highly recommended.

I wouldn't mind hearing a Star Trek audio drama series, professionally done with sfx, and good scripts. It would be relatively cheap to produce, and they could go back in time to extend and detail classic series. Age and looks are mostly taken out of the equation.

I'll go further and say I'm not in favor of remasters. I want everything original, low res warts and all. Tasteful enhancements don't really bother me much, but I'm just as happy with the original versions, and consider them a record of history.

I enjoyed Picard. It had it's problems, but I've seen it twice now, and will watch again some time. I don't consider it Trek "proper". More like Trek "adjacent". I don't watch for the same reasons, or with the same expectations I watch TNG, DS9, SNW..., but it's till enjoyable for me.

I can't believe this show inadvertently swapped for . I know Jennifer Lien had issues, but it was such a odd turn of fate to drop the innocent, empathic character for cold, aloof, and sexy.

...or maybe it was apt? Audience seemed to REALLY like cold, aloof, and sexy.🤷‍♂️

I don't disagree, but that was the fault of the writers and not the actor or character. She could have easily been a lot more than she was.

I'm nominally positive on her character. I liked her ok, but wasn't heartbroken when she left.

That said, Seven's one my favorite things ever. I bet the writers had a ball writing for her, and Jeri did a fine job bringing her to fruition.

They seem fond of incongruously pairing Seven up with people. In Picard, she and Raffi are playing handsies at the end of an episode, and I'm thinking "Where did that come from?!". After rewatching the series, I still don't know. They didn't seem to pay any particular attention to each other, but they're suddenly a thing.

I liked her character, but she was ill conceived at the start. I can imagine how it went... "Wouldn't it be weird having a species that only lived 9 years?!", and they didn't consider the ramifications of that. That led to Neelix being called a pedo for no cause, and them being boxed in trying to plausibly develop an intelligent character that has the lifespan of a Great Dane.

I've never been to a con, and likely never will, but it's a lot of work for an actor to be there. They take time out of their lives, have to be charming, and operate the assembly line of autographs on a multi day event. I'm not sure there's a clearly correct answer, but them being there is a real job with real work. Having them do it all gratis is a big ask.

I'm pretty cool with subpar episodes. They still add to the world, and give me something to watch with characters I enjoy. Of the series I like(almost all of them), there isn't a single episode I skip on rewatch. The "bad" ones bulk out the series and make it last longer.

Is it me, or the hive mind mentality has come over here as well?

I’ve posted some controversial stuff, and I understand why I would be getting down voted for that. But I see some of my posts and comments are in the negatives for seemingly no reason at all? I don’t really care about the karma because I can’t see it anyway, but I’m worried that comments and posts here are gonna get...

Voting is garbage. It's a cancer on all these type sites. Deciding the value of a post only requires basic literacy, and someone else's opinion is irrelevant. I only upvote posts as a reward to the author. It isn't for anyone else. Others should read the post and decide for themselves what value it has.

I recently completed all the official releases myself. I'm now working on the fan made movies/shows(give Star Trek Continues a shot. It's like TOS, and in some ways better). In general, I don't like any of the movies. They're ok, but I'd prefer they took the budgets, and made 10(or more!) tv episodes instead. I like more thought, and less action/effects. TAS was ok. The kitschy cartoon style is cool. I'm from the era, so it's nostalgic for me :^D

I don't like musicals either, and I enjoyed it. Adding an exception to "I've seen all of the $tv_series" is kind of lame. Maybe you won't like it, but it only takes an hour to find out. I've spent way worse hours in my life than watching a tv show I generally like with a dud episode.

Pretty silly episode. I'm not a fan of musicals, and I was dubious going in, but it was fun. They managed to make it as good as a musical could be for my tastes. I'm happy it was made, and I'm happy to have seen it. That's about the highest praise I could give for something like this.

I think the EMH is unique in being the only character I like, but wouldn't want to serve with on a ship. He's a huge ass, and his first thought is always EMH. He put the ship at risk more than once. He's entertaining as a tv character, but aside from his unique technical abilities, I'd rather spend time with Phlox. G'night!

I like the idea in the abstract, but actually meeting them would make me extremely uncomfortable, and the anxiety would be no fun. Having it be a setup "thing" makes it all weird and awkward. If they randomly sat next to me at a bar or something, I could talk to them no problem.

I'm not a big fan of Equinox either. I may not be Star Fleet enough, but I was 100% with Janeway. Steal parts off my ship, and kick the hornet nest leaving me with the hornets? When I found that ship, I'd dump every torpedo I had into it. Never mind harvesting aliens so they could get home quicker. AFAIC, they forfeited any right or privilege, and became enemy combatants.

I have almost zero memory of DS9. I loved the series, but I've only done one complete watch through. I see the episode titles popup here, and I usually have no clue what the episode is. It's a blessing and a curse. It'll be more fun when I see it again, but it makes it harder to talk about.

FWIW, I don't watch at all. I like seeing what everyone has to say though. Excepting the microseries they have now, I start at ep01 of a particular series, and end where it ends without mixing other series. Makes it easier getting lost that particular world since they each have their own character and flavor.

Uhura's been getting a lot of love lately. Just a lot of mindshare in-universe. I wish Nichol's were still alive to get her take on the modern Uhura. I think she's great, and a lot more fleshed out than the "classic" Uhura.
