As the title says ... ever since Firefox v110, whenever I view a post (content, images or reactions) on LinkedIn and close it again by clicking outside the pop-up, text gets randomly selected. Still occurring in Firefox v120 on Windows 10....
with the recent news about the things that were said about Google slowing down Firefox on purpose, are they doing this because they severily dislike Firefox/open source? :c If so, that wouldn’t make a lot of sense!!! Because Google loves open source too. I read they were doing this to stop adblockers, and well if you use...
both Linux operating systems have 1. A friendly user interface, 2. A hidden terminal, and 3. A locked down root user, to avoid dangerous actions!! Why do people seem to dislike Android when Ubuntu is similar to it??
I was recently unable to find a particular journal article I wanted to read that was referenced in something else I was reading. I only could find an abstract on Google Scholar, and nothing at all on Z-lib. I was able to get a full copy by just emailing the author at her university (I guess its true that most of them will give...
Yeah it’s not so much about cost in my eyes. The conferences I publish at are in the $500-$1000 range to attend once your paper gets accepted, not cheap but not too crazy, and grants take care of that cost anyways.
I was saying it’d be more of a curtousy for you to get permission before distributing.
Signal - I have it but I have very few friends that use it unfortunately
It’s a shame they got rid of SMS support. That was basically my selling factor when trying to convince someone to install the app. Now, it’s next to impossible to get someone to install it…
I’m going from Hong Kong to Iceland next month. I’ve read that everything there, including food, are quite expensive. So my wife and I have been researching on how to prepare meal or snack that we can eat during the day instead of going to restaurant....
Hi all! I used to be a daily r/selfhosted lurker and a bit active user. Since the Reddit saga I thought that r/selfhosted would be one of the first and bigger community to move to Lemmy due to the IT knowledge of all of their users and the sensitivity about self host/privacy/open source, but I see that not only the community is...
I think it’s somewhat interesting. I don’t like how the main developer was spamming Reddit with links to it all week then pretending like he didn’t on Squabbles.
New instance icon
A while ago we had a post about a new instance icon. Just wondering if there’s any news on that?
Anyone else experiencing text being randomly selected on LinkedIn? (kbin.social)

change my mind: Ubuntu does the same thing as Android
both Linux operating systems have 1. A friendly user interface, 2. A hidden terminal, and 3. A locked down root user, to avoid dangerous actions!! Why do people seem to dislike Android when Ubuntu is similar to it??
Defederate from instance

Lemmy upgraded to 0.18.2

What's the hottest and coldest temperature you've ever been in?
Indoor temperatures don’t count. I’m talking about the weather....

Upgrading to v0.18.1
Are we upgrading to v0.18.1 soon? The only reason I ask is that it fixes a serious security bug.
Has anyone tried squabbles.io yet? It might be my favorite of the Reddit alternatives so far!
Nothing agains this place, but it is VERY cumbersome to get going. Squabbles seems super responsive and intuitive. I’ll be using both!
