I consider myself a Evangelist. After discovering Free Software I took my political scientist butt and found a call center job that paid for me to go to Community College to study Software Engineering, where I learned that I liked the idea of coding a lot more than I liked coding. The blessings of God put some great opportunities in my lap at just the right time.

fu,

this but unironically

fu,

AC/DC certainly isn't current music in the 24th century 😉

fu,

@gravitas_deficiency @negativenull It's not stealing it's homesteading.

fu,

@ElderWendigo @negativenull In Michigan this week I saw a giant inflatable buck-ee with a santa hat on in some guys yard. I awesome he used to live in Texas.

fu,

If he didn't complain about it, would anyone know he was gone?

fu,

@originalucifer this is so bad that is it wasn't in is group I wouldn't even realize it was supposed to be humerus.

fu,

@SquaredCircle @TellumSiege at this point in history I would be embarassed to be from Punk's home town

fu,

@SquaredCircle @n7gifmdn @TellumSiege Two NWA real worlds CHAMPIONS would be a good old school fight. Unfortunately between the casuals and the Smarks it would get booed out of the building

fu,

@JelloBrains @n7gifmdn @TellumSiege who knows with HHH at the helm. 2 years ago no way, but I have heard that Trips actually has Flair's old Domed Globe on his office wall.

fu,

@SquaredCircle @TellumSiege well bringing Punk back is about the most WWE thing they could do. They gotta fuck with a good thing right? Well hopefully that means Roman is finally going to lose his title.

fu,

@TellumSiege @n7gifmdn sounds like a better choice than Carlito to me!

fu,

@GeekFTW @kessleragain I'm not sure which all federation issues you are describing, but there must still be some, as I'm not seeing any newer posts than 5 days ago on my instance, even though I commented on the PPV live thread on Saturday via .

fu,

@GeekFTW @kessleragain we'll I'm on Friendica, not lemmy nor kbin, so there's that...

fu,

@GeekFTW @kessleragain I just don't see nearly as much as if I visit kbin.social/m/squaredcircle directly. For comparison when I access libranet.de/network/group/5273… the newest post I see is the AEW Live Thread from Saturday evening.

FYI, Friendica has full support for groups, natively called Friendica Forums, including Kbin Magazines & Lemmy Communities which show exactly like a local Friendica Forum (for a reverse example you can also access !fellowship on kbin, but not on lemmy), unlike mastodon which doesn't have proper support and every comment appears as an unconnected "re-toot" from the community "user."

I'm not an admin so I'm not sure If I can provide any more useful information, but the guys at !support in my experience would be excited to help troubleshoot such.

So, Janice Hallett. Read The Appeal and The Twyford Code last month. About a third of the way through this one. There's no denying her books are compulsively readable - I can't remember when I last read novels so quickly - but the endings of the first two left me a bit 'meh' for reasons I can't quite pinpoint. I think it's something to do with the marketing leading you to expect something they're not, and the cover design is common to several authors and I'm sure there's pros and cons to that. Will see how I fare with this one. @bookstodon 📖

fu,

@Schnuckster do you have a bookwyrm profile?

fu,

I threw up in my mouth a little

fu,

why not just use am invidious instance like i.devol.it to access such content so as to eliminate the ads, eliminate the tracking, and encourage Free Software peeps to keep up the good work?

fu,

@teft @Detectorist I can't even see this without hearing Russel Watson

fu,

@MargotRobbie @negativenull the bacon thing has been over for a while, hasn't it?

fu,

@risa FYI, you just call Columbus Day Thanksgiving

fu,

because I'm on Friendica and that's what it does by default

fu,

@risa I'm on Friendica using AndStatus connected as a GNUsocial instance and it all looks gravy

Recommend option for "full house VPN"? (libranet.de) en-us

I have an old Linksys router which I have read is quite "hackable" for setting up a VPN with custom Linux firmware (tomato, etc.). Everything I have looked up on it, however, seems to be about creating a VPN so that you can access the internet from anywhere in the world, but utilizing your home IP address....

fu,

@Imprint9816 on my work laptop I do so by just connectint to our German office instead of the U.S. one

Where to post Academic Articles (libranet.de) en-us

I was recently unable to find a particular journal article I wanted to read that was referenced in something else I was reading. I only could find an abstract on Google Scholar, and nothing at all on Z-lib. I was able to get a full copy by just emailing the author at her university (I guess its true that most of them will give...

fu,

@kia LOL

fu,

Is there an option to add to Z-lib?

fu,

@RootBeerGuy @kia I know it costs a shit ton, and the only people who ever seem to read it are the other people quoting it, and its just as much bullshit as every other IP.

fu,

@kia information is free, I don't need to ask permission, that's just giving them a chance to say NO

fu,

@blah thanks for the heads up. I'll take a look and I'll edit if I need to.

fu,

@kia @ryannathans no there's not.

fu,

@rambos if I recall correctly I had used that before, and it didn't seem legit. (Unlike Friendica, it appears blocked from my work VPN)

fu,

@Pixelle3D yep. When Netflix was basically the only game in town they beat out pirating as the market has shown they are willing to pay for convenience. But with the saturation in the market making the convenience not convenience...que return of the pirates.

fu,

@Petter1 probably true, its always been a hardware issue for me. But the whole "setup" is what turns away much of the general public.

If governments would just get out of the damn way...

fu,

@Zeragamba @QuazarOmega just because something is paranoia doesn't mean it isn't true. Whenever I turn on the DuckDuckGo "VPN" to stop tracking by third party apps, I'm amazed at how many request are happening from apps I hardly use and many I don't expect (though I should know that something can still be open source Free Software and that the open code contains surveillance capitalsm tracking in order to fund the project)

fu,

@xusontha @Kyoyeou their cake is pretty good too, I'd try some cookies.

fu,

@Stamets Klingon cuddle dungeons are definatley a thing. My wife has been threatening me with them for years.

fu,

@driving_crooner @Stamets is "shares" a typo, or is that supposed to be some take off of shades (of gray) that this negro-divergent Star Trek fan doesn't get.

fu,

@Stamets uhm, you secretly hide away from society and cuddle your loved one in a gentle manner. Exhibitionist would do so in an open door hotel room, but outside of perhaps some very specific convention situations, this would be heavily frowned upon.

fu,

@Stamets huh? on my instance all I see is a json file, what are you referencing?

fu,

@Infynis @roofuskit no, but its pretty much the start of the "DS9 Re-launch" which, as a whole, is pretty good for the first 20 books or so

fu,

@xusontha Babylon 5 was on after DS9 on Channel 9. A show being on after a good show was usually enough to get me to watch the second show, but Babylon 5 and I did not get a long and it got switched nearly 100% of the time.

@JustCodeCulture I got the 90s edition as a kid and I just devoted stats.

@main @Lem453 @troyunrau lemmy doesn't support following individual users, however there are many other platforms that do. I'd recommend you try out Kbin
