hydrashok,

61 is too damn young to go.

hydrashok,

That was a pretty brutal fatality.

hydrashok,

That’s pretty impressive. It actually does look like an N64 game from the 90s. I wonder if there’s some alternate timeline where this was Valve’s first game and the PC version is the remaster.

hydrashok,

Steam Deck 2: Episode 1 confirmed.

Joking aside, glad they did this. I really want to pick one up next year.

hydrashok,

Only if every five minutes Navi yells “Hey, listen!”.

hydrashok,

This game, man. Can’t figure out why I like it so much, but it’s just so good. Totally in on this DLC too.

hydrashok,

Hoping it’s a two picture deal and we get a rebooted H2: Quickening. Pumped.

hydrashok,

Gerard Butler or Ewan McGregor

hydrashok,

Sounds interesting. Been a while since I’ve played but the new Balkans DLC just dropped…

hydrashok,

Guess I better review the library before they get delisted in Steam.

hydrashok,

But also, the copyright infringement is for injesting automatically from a third party a picture of an actress on their website

FTFY

hydrashok,

I suspect the second will feel improved when the third comes out to finish the conclusion. It’s hard to end a movie on a cliffhanger like that.

I do agree with you, though. I like the first one better and it does feel like a tighter story. Also an amazing opening sequence that just pulls you right into the world (and is a great home audio test).

But I have no doubt that when I see the third film I’ll likely appreciate the second more.

hydrashok,

“… K?”

(From MiB3, because that’s a pretty obscure reference.)

hydrashok,

Looking forward to finding one in a store right around the time the RPi 6 is released.

hydrashok,

Not the time to lose one’s head.

That’s not the way to get ahead in life.

It’s a shame he wasn’t more headstrong.

He’ll never be the head of a major corporation.

hydrashok,

Hooray, another buzz filled lab announcement with vague products that I’ll never see access to and will all be cancelled within the next two years.

hydrashok,

Absolutely. Happy Death Day plus Hot Tub Time Machine. Looks awesome.

hydrashok, (edited )

I’m having the same issue, but with Edge. Have to copy the link and then paste it in. Started two days ago for me.

Edit: NuPNuA’s solution above fixed it for me also. Thanks!

hydrashok,

Love they got Keith to voice it. Looks fun. Been a long while since I played the original.

hydrashok,

Had to happen sometime. Sad to see it come, but Charles has had a hell of a run. He will continue to be the template for Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi for the rest of the characters’ existence.

Very much, in my mind, like any new Looney Tunes voice actors are just trying to sound like Mel Blanc.

It’ll be great to hear Charles’ influence for years to come, even if he’s not doing (or doing less of) the performances anymore.

hydrashok,

Surely you’re all running with the same security policy, agents, and account permission constraints (e.g. no local admin) as all your Windows counterparts so you have a true comparison?

And you can get a “real” terminal on Windows right now.

Riesen, to AskKbin

When eating at home, how do you cook your hot dogs?

hydrashok,

Yep. Boil is the best result. You can either serve directly from the water, or if you want to get fancy you just need to toss them on a grill for a minute to get some grill lines.

Nice part about the water is that you don’t have to serve all of them simultaneously like if you threw too many on the grill.

Atari Announces Modernized 2600 Console (Releasing Nov 17th) (www.gameinformer.com)

Before the 1983 video game crash and Nintendo’s subsequent takeover of the industry with the NES, the Atari 2600 reigned supreme. The popular console was pretty much the poster child for ‘late 70s/early ‘80s gaming, boasting a vast library of titles that have since inspired a multitude of games for decades to come. Over 30...

hydrashok,

Ordered and already excited. I still have a giant box of 2600 games and controllers and according to their site, it will all be compatible.

Ready for the nostalgia overload when I fire up Pitfall.

hydrashok,

Always upvote HL2. My favorite game of all time.

This could totally get me to finally get going and build a new gaming rig.

I wish the team luck. I’m sure it’s not am easy task, looking at other, similar projects like Black Mesa, but the demo is stunning. Would love to see what Ravenholm looks like…

hydrashok,

I was waiting for another shell to hit the building after they came back to start digging through the rubble.

hydrashok,

That movie is sooooo underrated.

The critics never really understood it at the time, and the movie suffered from poor press. Definitely a cult classic. Also love that Arnie got Sly to do a Terminator poster for the video store, and all the references to other movies hidden all over the place. It’s an Easter egg extravaganza!

hydrashok,

Guess I’m buying Quake again…

How do primarily overnight package focused carriers make any money on 2-day services?

So this is a rather niche question so I hope it is still relevant to this group, but I was thinking. The big package transport companies(in the US this is UPS and FedEx) make most of their air cargo money on overnight packages, where the business model is pretty straightforward. Have packages fly between a small number of hubs...

hydrashok,

The answer is logistics. That’s a very broad and boring answer, but it’s just the way it is.

UPS is one of, if not the largest airline in the world. Their package tracking and logistics framework is well developed.

UPS, in WorldPort (and FedEx from just a short distance away), have positioned a hub that allows a huge amount of freight in; for it to be sorted cheaply, efficiently, and quickly; and for those planes to get back out the same night. I forget the exact statistic, but the Louisville airport is a 2 hour flight or less to 75% of the US population in the continental US. So for a plane to fly in, unload, refuel, reload, and fly back can be done for 3/4 of every major population center in the US with a single flight crew rotation.

Sounds crazy, but WorldPort has (had?) an average package sort speed of 13 minutes. So turnaround is fast. But of it’s a two day package, it can sit for a few hours at WorldPort and take a later plane.

Then from there, as the planes return, ground transport takes over. Ground shipping can also cover a lot of area for a two day shipment, so air transit isnt always needed.

hydrashok,

Still a Waze junkie after years and years, but considering the switch to iOS later this year and would be nice to have something actively being developed to compare against, but also to fall back on if Google decides to combine the Maps and Waze team and kills off Waze entirely, which is looking ever more likely. (Google Maps is very poor in directions and UI, in my experience.)

hydrashok,

Looks looks a fun popcorn movie. Still haven’t watched the Ms Marvel series, though. Wonder if the backstory will be that important.

The worst part about that trailer, in my opinion, was the massacre of the Beastie Boys for that crappy remix. (Side note: didn’t MCA forbid use of Beastie Boys music in ads in his will when he passed?)

hydrashok,

I can’t believe their cunning plan to make an expensive outing even more expensive under the guise of “but you get the good seats!” didn’t work out.

hydrashok,

Definitely a place I recommend checking out. It’s amazingly gorgeous. And if you can, catch a concert at the Amphitheater. Such a cool experience.

hydrashok,

Thanks for the video! I’ll have to watch that later.

I saw the Sex Pistols there in 1996, and it was crazy fun. First out-of-state concert I ever attended, and I loved every minute of it!

hydrashok,

Bought my ticket for Friday’s showing on Tuesday. Super excited. Tom may be nuts, but I think he’s proved he can repeatedly make damn good blockbuster movies.

hydrashok,

Front right pocket for phone. I am interacting with it far more often than my wallet.

hydrashok,

Same here. Never had a problem finding what I need and generally prefer the interface. Getting corporate results on my work system is also pretty awesome.

hydrashok,

Holy shit!

Watching western artillery systems’ accuracy is still amazing, even after countless videos like this one.

hydrashok,

It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em.

Jcb2016, to RedditMigration

We are going 9 days strong on the glad there are people still doing this. IT should send a message to the world that the little people have a voice. of course u/spez isn't listening thats why people are dumping reddit in droves! Reddit will die in a fire and i'm here for it! delted my 6 year old account on the 13th and i'm not going back. Period!

hydrashok,

Nuked all Reddit domains in DNS the night of the two-day blackout and haven't been back since. Opened RiF impulsively a few times in the first couple days but closed it when nothing loaded.

There was a lot of content there I enjoyed, but I'm finding Lemmy can scratch most of those itches just fine as more people move over and I find the needed communities. Replaced my app shortcut for RiF with Jerboa and now muscle memory takes me to this fine place!

If the third party app developers for Sync, Apollo, and/or RiF (amongst others) get involved in Lemmy/KBin/etc clients, I'm very curious to see how and how quickly the Fediverse grows.
