How does exactly Jordan Peterson dismiss asexuality there?
He is asked by someone self defining as asexual: how can I do to have kids, I have not felt sexual connections but want to create children with my wife.
Then he answers the questions, like “hey, if you really wanna do this, you can try this steps. Also, you can explore if you are really asexual (see, he acknowledges there asexual exists) or if maybe it has roots on something else, and you should explore that as well”
How is that dismissing, did I miss something?
If it is because something in the lines of “well, you cannot tell people they maybe arent what they identify as” then Ok i guess. I don’t agree, I think a professional should explore all possibilities, especially when it is generaring discomfort to someone (as is the case with the person asking), but that’s just my opinion.
If it’s not in that line, I may have missed something.
I’ll tru to play Devil’s Advocate as well. You know how, durong development, specially on AAA games, they try things, discard them, and then leave them in the code, caise removing it is harder? Like Bethesda’s cut content, secret, semy empty levels in other games, etc. Maybe they tried a new ad pop up system during development, ultimately decides to remove it with a feature flag or something for it not to actually pop up, and then it turns out they did not disable the pop up.
Buuuuut they are Ubisoft, so while this is definitely possible…
Both spider man 2, re4, and tears of the kingdom are just as formulaic if not more, yet there they are. And SM Wonders is somehow super innovative, just because it is not the exact same formula of all marios but the exact same formula “a little bit harder”
This year we made good progress. You know, Linux gaming becoming better, Reddit fucking up, Metaverse failing etc. But on the other hand Big Tech has or are planning to make some moves. Such as, Google’s Web Enviroment Integrity API (EDIT: they backed off), UK’s encryption bill, etc....
It’s literally impossible. I’ve seen programs ask three times to confirm a deletion, with big warnings, really emphasized. Saying it’s permanent all three times.
Then the fuckers contacted us at tech support and go all like “hurr durr I just deleted my project can I have it back”.
NO YOU LITTLE DIPSHIT YOU CANNOT. We did have backups though, most of the time (if it was recent) but it took well over a couple hours to properly restore, so we only did it if they asked nicely and behaved.
TL;DR People are stupid, no such thing as dump proofing. What needs to be done is hold people to higher standards and force to educate themselves or GTFO.
What if we cannot afford the space of keeping everything backed uo forever? What if it has been a year? Where do we put the limits to “okay, this is stupid” and “this is perfectably reasonable”? What if the action cannot be reversed, and after deletion you need to anonimyze particularly sensitive data?
I say to all that, READ THE FUCKING MANUAL. If you are not apt enough to read and research about the software, you are not apt enough to use it.
Same with hardware. You cut your finger because you didnt follow instructions clearly laid out for you not to cut your finger when using a saw? Maybe sawing was not for you mate
Youtube let the other shoe drop in their end-stage enshittification this week. Last month, they required you to turn on Youtube History to view the feed of youtube videos recommendations. That seems reasonable, so I did it. But I delete my history every 1 week instead of every 3 months. So they don’t get much from my choices....

You can chaim grav jumps, only thing is you cant do the entire trip in one jump. Fuel resets each time you jump, so ot’s only a minor inconvenience to start with.
If you have gone to new atlantis, you already grav jumped (so if you have a mission you probably have done it). Grav jumping is just when you go to another system from the map interface (for example, from alfa centauri to sol). If the place you want to go to is too far, you just need to do intermediate jumps (going to systems in betwern)
Still, I prefer “poor” (bethesda games don’t not perform that poorly, really) performance with lots of system driven interactions and absolute modability like almost no other games out there than “good” performance.
It’s no secret that Lemmy is shaping up to be a viable alternative to Reddit. The issue it faces however is that it’s still relatively niche and not many people know about it. In Linux it is pretty much mandatory, it asks for NVIDIA 536 drivers, max on linux is 535… skip the launcher, and suddenly my drivers are okay (and tbf, aside from my card not being extra good, and a couple texture bleed in portraits and some weird texture loading issues (like, some times faces look like they were hyper pimpled, for a lil while, then looks normal) it plays amazingly
I constantly use it. I play with my partner, not with randos on the internet, not with friends. We live in the same house. We already bought 2 copies on PC to support the devs, but being forced to do so would be a shitty move. Also, when we have friends over, we do not expect them to bring their own PCs and shit if we want to game. Couch coop is where it’s at.
Way more games with a white male protagonist fail. It’s as if success had to do with a game being good and having advertisement than it has to do with diversity
