While LLMs have been used for… a lot, it seems like this use might be one where it’s not only reliable but it appears to outperform existing methods of image compression. Being able to cram more data into less space tends to lead to interesting developments, so I will be keeping my eye on this....
Something really annoying is that they make an isekai, in it they could make anything in their new world, right? 95% of the time it’s the most generic, cookie cutter mmo fantasy world with levels and game mechanics.
Another things is when they spend sometimes multiple chapters explaining the most obvious things, like there’s an adventurers guild, it had the same rank system as any other isekai, they probably get their power level measured, etc etc.
It makes me sad, because there are good isekais, but most of them are just really lazy.
I’ve been recently been thinking about Arkane Studio’s Prey which is a immersive sim, with a pretty good rogue like dlc, that probably has one of the strongest hooks of any game I’ve played. If you liked Halflife, System Shock, or Deus Ex it’s definitely worth a play....
My biggest disappointment in it is that my favorite zone of the map only has one mission, but that mission is great. Apart of that its cool riding cars in the desert.

Bomb Rush rush Cyberfunk, got almost all of the tags, now I’m trying for the ~15 mill score achievements, which I somehow always fail at like 13 mill. pain
Honestly the best new coop shooter is deep rock galactic, fun game, many bugs to be shot, no monetization after buying (theres a free battlepass, but after the season the cosmetics get into normal loot drop, and supporter skin packs).
Just been reading a Risa thread that was dinging Star Wars, but it was all pretty amateur stuff. After all, if you really want to know how terrible Star Wars is, ask a Star Wars fan!...

Unity has apologized for the "confusion and angst the runtime fee policy" it announced last week has caused and has revealed it will be "making changes" to it.
“Snipin’s a good job, mate! It’s challengin’ work, outta doors. I guarantee you’ll not go hungry, 'cause at the end of the day, long as there’s two people left in the forest, someone is gonna want someone dead.”

My pet peeve is the Finnish name “Yrjö”. It comes from the Greek name “Geôrgios”, which means farmer, but nowadays the word “yrjö” means vomit. ‘Unique spellings’ like some “Everleigh” also drive me crazy.
It’s interesting, how the game direction Hugo Martin tried to delay and sabotage him, the big reason he got the contract is he wrote to Bethesda higher ups directly, and as he did an exceptional ost for doom '16, they put him on the project.
Bethesda does a lot of questionable things, but this was probably their best decision.
A friend of mine took their cat to the gas station, after refuelling the cat took a couple of steps and dropped on the floor. I was like “Damn, already out of fuel? What did you say the milage was?”
Funny, i watched the previous video while having breakfast half asleep. Didn’t realize how dark its gonna get, the surgery scene was pretty haunting. Probably gonna wait with this one a bit
20 cents for every death threat not sent? Sure! Whos counting? Dont worry, our propiertary system counts every unsent message, you only need to pay up ^(works every previously unsent message, but only if you got more than 200 000 the past year, we got you)
Bit seriously, why do some people always so eager to send death threats? It almost never achieves anything, gets you on the moral low ground and doesn’t even get to the right persons the first place.
Its not a problem if it’s a cut of sale price, but for every installation (or in webgl games every time someone streams it) which the devs don’t even get compensation? So if someone wants to play on multiple devices the cost for developments go up? They don’t even host it, why would the game devs pay for them? They already paying them from sales price, and most likely a subscription fro unity pro (and they conveniently dropped the cheapest tier, so you need to pay even more for the same benefits) so it really seems like just a new tax for extra the revenue. This send like a really good way to chase away any developer.
So how does it feel to not have a country? To not have borders to define yourself against the world? (I guess seven nukes do make a clear border, huh?)
My bad, but its my duty to always reference it. (They mail me some fanta ever time I do it, which is wierd, i never gave them my address, and I’m afraid what will happen if i stop)
I was thinking about playing High on Life shortly after the release but I’ve seen a few reviews that depict the game (or maybe just the jokes) as so-so....
Its a bit extreme, but crack-life for half-life. You know there are some people saying they get brain rot from memes? This is like the bottom of a sinkhole for your iq. Every sound is some random effect, the wortigons have afros, the headcrabs are British, your hud is in webdings, the soldiers speak in old tts and the smg has infinite fast firing grenade launcher.
Is a lot, and while you are lost in a word where nothing makes sense, you are losing your ass off. If that’s isn’t enough, there’s a standalone mod, that’s even stupider, even bigger, even more bizarre.
But it’s probably not for everyone, its very 2000 edgy humor, so if it’s not your thing, don’t force yourself with it (might wanna check some vids, Jolly has a good ones, but i think he deleted it some time ago).
I used to like open world games that would take 50+ hours to beat but I feel like as I get older these games can be intimidating to even start and I often get sidetracked with other games frequently only getting half to three quarters of the way through....
I dont want to defend this kind of monetization, but pd2 probably had the best kind of approach, as only the host needed it start it, so if someone had it in your friend group had it you were good. Well exept for the weapon and perk decks, as you only got them if you had the dlc, but it didn’t split the playerbase. (also fuck the loot boxes)
For me it’s probably Jazzpunk, but I liked Disco Elysium too. I’ve been looking for something to scratch that “Jazzpunk surrealist comedy itch” for a while and not many games have come even close.
