Plastic seals food, sterile medical implements, medicine, beverages, etc… it’s seems like plastic is used as a way to seal things safely. Post pandemic rising, I see even more. My work used to be have plastic utensils in the cafeteria, for example, an already wasteful thing. Now, post-2020, every fork, knife, and spoon is...
We still don’t have affordable alternatives for areas where there is no public transportation or non-car options. A lot of people are barely paying their bills and can’t even consider buying an electric car right now. Not that electric cars are really the answer either. We have a long way to go from where I stand.
As someone wilderness camping below freezing on two separate trips this week -one in a hammock at the great lakes and another in a tent a little farther inland, I don’t even know what I’m looking at.
Fast food cups pretty much universally come in 32 oz (8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 48), having worked places that sold styrofoam 32 oz cups for decades, I’m extremely confident that’s the size it is. For Europeans to comprehend, it is essentially 1 liter.
I have a Casey’s up the road and I’ve only had their breakfast pizza once, it was amazing. Their beer is 2-3x everyone else’s price which is why I never go there tho.
I feel like safeguards should be created legislatively. Executive orders have limited reach and can essentially be undone with a pen by the next president
There are few things in the world more satisfying than a real heavy duty tranny. I mean the kind that can take you from zero to blasting you back in your seat with more horsepower than you’ve ever experienced, and then do it again and again.
The nation’s economy expanded at a robust 4.9% annual rate from July through September as Americans defied higher prices, rising interest rates and widespread forecasts of a recession to spend at a brisk pace....
This is where you add layers to the problem by giving away mangoes. You give Alice two more mangoes than you give Gunther, and the dog steals one but you still have twelve mangoes. How many mangoes did Gunther get?
Im guessing you don’t like sports? W/L is pretty universal for win/loss and I don’t really watch any sports. Taking an L is at least in the US a culturally pervasive expression.
I always bring a hat when I go to get a cut, as soon as I get back to the car it goes on. I mostly pay them to do the back I can’t see well. I can fix the front myself, and usually touch it up a couple of days later.
I haven’t drank milk in decades but before I quit I was drinking skim because the milk with fat made me nauseous and it tasted better. Eventually even skim milk made me nauseous. Fortunately I have always liked my coffee black. Although I cut out caffeine a few years ago so now it’s black decaf on a rare occasion. Yeah I’m fun at parties too.
I just looked up a handful of news sources on there and was overall satisfied with their assessments. My assumption though is that even the “bias checkers” have to have their own internal bias.
In the US if they’re pissing in a public place like a sidewalk or street etc anyone can film it and post it all they want. Just don’t mark the content “for children” when you post it.
Yeah we found ours as an older kitten living in the wall of our detached garage, she was pretty feral. It might as well have been a dumpster. Ten years later she’s a sweetheart. But she’s addicted to catnip treats. I’m an enabler.
I live inside the 275 loop around Cincinnati. My work is 11 miles away. In order to get to work via public transit I’d have to walk 3.5 miles to the closest bus stop, take a bus the wrong direction, wait for a transfer to another bus heading closer to work, and then walk 2.5 miles to my job. The schedule is so sparse it would take me 3-4 hrs one way and I’d be walking more than half of it. No bike lanes or sidewalks either, and the roads are so dangerous that in almost 20 years of working there I’ve never seen a bike attempt any of my possible routes. I have seen memorial bikes on the roadside where someone got hit.

How will we ever get away from plastics when they are ubiquitous for safety
