doctorcrimson,

I don’t really like the edit that removed the camera, maybe it’s just because of the low image quality but it bothers me.

doctorcrimson,

TBF when they first married she was 13 and he was 40.

I’m really glad that the majority of the world has moved past that point. Although, it seems like only a recent development in India in 2007.

doctorcrimson, (edited )

That’s fair I like that comment. Although a bit silly to compare women’s rights between those two nations.

doctorcrimson,

Literally last year it was in the Indian Supreme Court. At least the USA isn’t branding women for rejecting a man.

doctorcrimson,

No, the justice system isn’t, but the people are. India is probably second only to Sharia Law nations for the disfigurement of women. Get fucked.

doctorcrimson,

They were discovered about a decade after Ben Franklin was credited with the kite experiment, not any record AFAIK what the natives called them before then, but the word Electric was commonly used to describe objects with electrostatic charge since at least a century earlier, making the Electric Eels name fittingly more akin to the shock they give than any actual unit of conductivity or charge they hold.

doctorcrimson,

I feel like the vast majority of headlines about this stuff could use clarification of “without warrant.”

doctorcrimson,

Or when you actively engage in conversations and other people on the server do not.

doctorcrimson,

I’m voting Putin as Clown because it will help representation of Gay Clowns.

doctorcrimson,

I go to bed fully clothed and wake up without pants on, so there is no way a carabiner clip would save my lucid dreaming ass.

doctorcrimson,

That guy’s just like “God Damn Paparazzi!”

doctorcrimson,

That reminds me of a conversation at a DnD table where somebody’s OC’s mom was a noble died during labor due to bleeding and the DM started asking questions “Do they not believe in healing there? No potions no resurrection, nothing?” and eventually it became canon that she was a badass who killed an orc monk while 9 months in and took the last bit of damage as bleed damage.

doctorcrimson,

Make sure you use an open source tool to download any important conversation or channel history.

github.com/Tyrrrz/DiscordChatExporter

You’ll have to use the browser version of Discord to grab your unique Token since they’ve disabled the inspector console on the application and also removed the ability to turn it back on in the ini file. Don’t ever share it with anybody, either.

doctorcrimson,

If you delete your account then you won’t have access to your chat history. Because the account will be gone. The account tied to all of the messages. And with which you accessed servers. Because you can’t log in to it. Because it’s gone. Because you deleted it.

doctorcrimson,

I can send messages, images, files, links, it supports youtube miniplayer for links, and I can start audio calls all in a singular app, and I can control which members of a channel see those messages or access that call very simply with roles. They also store that message history for years and years, idk what the limit is for channels but for DMs I can scroll back at least 5 years no problem. This works both on Desktop and Smartphones. I don’t know of any other programs or apps that do all of that, please correct me if I’m wrong.

doctorcrimson,

I used to run a potato 5 years past its warranty and even that had no problem with Discord. Maybe that has changed?

doctorcrimson,

I use theatre mode so I don’t care about that, but I remember back when you could customize YT Channel background art and set colors and transparency values, cool times.

doctorcrimson,

Theres a bunch of AI covers for whatever that character is and they all sound awful. That’s my entire scope of knowledge of it, I have no other context.

doctorcrimson,

Nowadays they fake leather boots and shoes with tons of foam and plastic, the soles aren’t even really threaded: it’s glued in place. The top thread is fake. You can’t get a good pair of leather shoes for less than $600 anymore, last time I had a cheap usable pair was before Rockport was bought out and converted.

doctorcrimson,

I think it’s more than just inflation, I think the replacement of leather with inferior materials to cut costs has become the standard.

doctorcrimson,

What is neat is that after the people in those oppressive regimes faking the news die the archeological evidence they leave behind paints a much clearer image. Even more recent stuff like the move of the Benin Bronzes into the British Museum in 1897, after they were forcibly taken from Nigerian natives in the Kingdom of Benin when a British Diplomat thought it apt to kill the king and loot the palace instead. They were, for decades, known as upright officials, but now the entire world has a very complete timeline of every single action they took on their atrocity filled adventure.

Even things as far back as the western history of Greece and Egypt that people are so accustomed to has been thoroughly examined and refuted by archaeological evidence.

The only cases where this isn’t true, yet, is when literally nothing was left behind by the invaders: like with the Catholic Crusades against the Vikings in the 12th and 13th century, destroying some of their languages and cultures completely. Someday, though, we might know more about what they believed in or how to read their runes instead of taking the Church’s word for it.

doctorcrimson,

Alex D. Linz did a pretty good job, I thought.

doctorcrimson,

This started out cool but seems to devolve into sick fetishism.

doctorcrimson,

Now that you mention it, Korpiklaani too.

doctorcrimson,

Check out A Heist with Markiplier sometime, it’s like the video form of a choose your own adventure book.

doctorcrimson,

I’ve had people pissed off that I didn’t call my mother as Mom, they thought it was DiSResPeCtFUL. She has a name, it’s a respectable name, and when I called that name in a group or a crowd then she will know it’s me without panicking any nearby moms. Get over it, it’s none of your damn business!

doctorcrimson,

Yeah I grew up with at least one parent, I’m sad to hear it isn’t the same for all of us and/or that some of you have no memories of your childhood.

doctorcrimson,

You replied to me, you didn’t comment on OP’s post. Missed the button?

doctorcrimson,

?

doctorcrimson,

I mean, if you lived 987,643 years and counting then what are the chances you don’t end up somewhere absurd at some point or another? I think there is just a point where getting stuck is a statistical certainty.

doctorcrimson,

Russia

doctorcrimson,

I think there is no situation where you gain super speed without extreme forces resistance, because if you exert the force to move at the speed of sound but aren’t resilient then your muscles, bones, and tendons will immediately shred themselves with that first step.

doctorcrimson,

Why would you teleport relative to the sun or the center of the milky way? Wouldn’t it be easier to teleport relative to the nearest surface?

doctorcrimson,

The Universe doesn’t give a damn about the Sun or the Milky Way, either, idiot. There is no defined central point for all coordinates. Everything is relative to something else or might as well be staying perfectly still for all intents and purposes.

doctorcrimson,

Seethe more

doctorcrimson,

Could have fooled me, I posted a funny and they told me their life’s story.

doctorcrimson,

At least 14 people agreed, I think if the sub weren’t filled with “SoFTwArE eNgINEerS” instead of actual Software Engineers then there wouldn’t be as many if any at all downvotes.

doctorcrimson,

I’ve never worked as a Civil Engineer so I can’t really speak for it, but I cannot name any states that require NCEES certification and it certainly isn’t federal.

doctorcrimson,

So you admit that it was funny?

doctorcrimson,

So what you’re saying is that each city, county, or district decides on their own whether or not they hire an engineer who was certified by NCEES via PE/FE/EIT licensure? I decided to add a whole bunch of words to make it less confusing this time. Because states have constitutions and legislature in the USA, but township’s policies can change by the acting leader. To me that’s exactly the point I’ve been trying to make, is that the USA severely lacks any central system or regulation on who qualifies as an engineer.

doctorcrimson,

So then 13 people upvote a comment that contains nothing except for a long winded joke that they don’t think is funny, you have a wonderful mind and I hope you have a fantastic day.

doctorcrimson,

It literally says in in the comment in full capital letters at the end /SARCASM

Which denotes the end of the SARCASM of the comment. I’m sorry you missed that. I didn’t have to explain that it was a joke, I’m doing that now because I’m nice, I had to banter with you about the objective reality that people laughed with me about it.

doctorcrimson,

I unfortunately cannot say in any confidence that you’re the next Eddie Murphy.

doctorcrimson, (edited )

Coming back to this the next day I’ve realised you’re shifting the goalpost here, my problem is that anybody anywhere can call themselves an engineer. I could care less if they cannot get a job as a civil engineer in 98% of towns. That doesn’t solve my problem. Also, if you really believe that there will never be a case of some idiot hiring a non-engineer despite there being no regulation, then you have much higher faith in humanity than I do.

doctorcrimson,

In fact, it would have been even funnier if you had started it with “THIS IS A FUNNY THING I WILL TYPE NEXT:”

Lmao you can just ignore statements that you yourself have made, then?

doctorcrimson,

It means

A ÷ B(C) which is equivalent to A ÷ (B*C)

I literally just explained this. The Parenthesis takes priority over multiplication and division outright.

Maybe
B*C = B(C)
But
A ÷ B(C) =! A ÷ B * C

doctorcrimson,

You continue to say it’s ambiguous, but the most commonly used convention on earth very clearly prioritizes parenthesis. It is not ambiguous.

doctorcrimson,

No baking powder or soda or anything? What are they making, crepes?
