I’ve always been terrified of dancing in public cause I can’t dance for shit but at the same time it was always something I’ve wanted to do. Last friday I went to a small party with coworkers and after drinking a lot I, for the first time, decided to join them and dance. Drunk me is just as bad at dancing as sober me but didn’t really care lol. It was fun and I had a great time. That’s all really, just felt like sharing a small victory. Maybe I’ll pick up dancing someday.
Seeing the other post here about YouTuber that went downhill and seeing content creators I am familiar with makes me sad. But how about those that still makes great, high quality content?
Kinda late to the party here but I’ll share a couple of my favorites:
Melodysheep - video essays about science and science fiction with absurdly high quality animations and production value
Mustard - same as above, except about interesting and/or unusual real vehicles
Casually Explained - just a dude with a great sense of humor and crude artwork explaining random things to you
Sam O’Nella Academy - same as above, except covering very specific and much weirder topics
Biblaridion - his usual content is about conlangs (don’t ask, I don’t know either) but his ongoing Alien Biospheres series about speculative evolution is simply amazing
TierZoo - highly entertaining videos about animals and zoology, except it’s all a videogame
LowSpecGamer - as the name implies, he used to make videos about making AAA games run on potato systems but has since pivoted into making (great) mini docs about the history of videogames and technology
Cyriak - he doesn’t post often but the dude has been making the same kind of technically impressive and often disturbing animations for over 15 years now
Kind of a trend, the amount of youtubers who i had loved but their content became generic after gaining popularity is quite a bit, most drastic one being mrwhosetheboss, his uniqueness went down faster than MH27 MH17
For me the main draw was always being able to freely explore their beautiful handmade worlds, be it Tamriel or a post-nuclear US. You always knew you’d find something interesting around the next corner. I’d be happy with this being just Fallout in space too but it seems Starfield is mostly procedurally generated and you can’t even drive any vehicles so in that front they lost most of my interest.
I held a small snake on my hands during a school trip a long time ago. I remember it felt leathery, kinda rubbery, and not slimy at all. What shocked me the most though was that it was cold, which is not surprising since it’s a cold-blooded animal, but still felt so wrong to me as someone who had only ever been around cats and dogs.
Probably, but then again, if you enjoy making art then just do it. It doesn’t have to be beautiful, it doesn’t even have to be good, as long as it makes you happy it is worth doing.
I was checking out the new season of Fargo, which made me want to rewatch the 1996 movie and I got to thinking, the Coen Brothers have a fantastic filmography. They have way more hits than misses and they make some of the most interesting movies out there. No Country for Old Men is probably one of my favorites of all time. So...
Hard agree on the Coen brothers, their filmography is absolutely stellar. Other than them I think Hayao Miyazaki deserves a mention here. Dude basically never missed in his entire carreer as a director.
Environment be damned or don’t be damned. Because you like them or because you don’t like your neighbors … what animals would you like to see locally that are not there ?
I had the same hope back in 2018 when Bolsonaro was elected in Brazil. Maybe this guy is just pretending to be insane and will be more reasonable once he’s president. I know better now.
Same. To this day I can’t listen to Promiscuous by Nelly Furtado without being thrown back to 2006 cause my cousin had bought that CD on release and played it all the time.
For example, I 3d printed a box over my outlet to protect my cables from my bed pushing against it. In addition, my cables never fall to the floor so they’re much easier to grab.

New Star Soccer! I was playing it today actually, I kid you not. I used to play it as a flash game all the time back in the day but it feels much better on Android with a touch screen. Such a fun little game to pass the time.
Smartphones are so big nowadays I’d be down to using a flip phone instead, if only they weren’t still so damn expensive. I like that form factor and the foldable screen technology seems pretty mature by now. Also, closing the phone to end a call will never not be cool.

It seems to me they’re saying Lemmy needs corporate backing to grow? Cause if they were so bothered by the opinions of the Lemmy devs they could simply use Kbin instead.
