caut_R,

One of the rare showerthoughts that I like, nice one

[Question] Were can i find a list of Safe Sites where buy Steam Games/Keys/Bundles??

As pc gamer (and new Deck owner) i’ve started to check any good game deal, mostly x games on Steam but not only. I’ve soon realize that there are great site like Humble to use to buy keys for cheap, but also “shady” sites with very low price who apparently sell non working keys or try to scam you. Did we have a list of...

caut_R,

I‘ve bought a good amount of games there and personally never had any issues.

Should‘ve ringed up someone from Rockstar in the dead of the night and then quote them, „We asked Rockstar to comment and a spokesperson responded ‚Wha… Who are… Do you know what fucking time it is?‘“

caut_R,

I‘m pretty sure some greedy suit killed the whole company overnight and I can‘t control my schadenfreude

I really liked Jack as a DM. I hope he‘ll do a DnD podcast; his improv skills, voice acting, and open-mindedness to his players’ „bullshittery“ really would make for an exceptionally enjoyable podcast. And Yahtzee‘s humor also helped. The animations were great, but I don‘t think a voice only podcast would hurt and easens the production burden. I wonder how hard they could just pick up where they left off with AIN without infringing on IPs.

caut_R,

The only other DnD podcast I enjoy to the same degree is „Not Another DnD Podcast,“ you just have to survive the first 10-ish minutes of the very first episode which are kind of weird and then it‘s an incredible ride

caut_R,

Is there a specific reason for this?

caut_R,

I really don‘t wanna go back to LCD, I hope there‘ll be a pro version or whatever they‘d call it

caut_R,

I played Turmoil which is honestly pretty fun but nothing mindblowing.

I‘ve also finished Supraland which is also recommendable but I wished the dev would have actual useful pointers where to go and what to do next, I‘ve been lost walking around for an hour until I just gave up and checked out a guide on where to go multiple times. Especially when you put it down and come back to it a couple weeks later you‘re doomed lol

Shoutout to Lovely Planet which is an entertaining speedrun FPS that doesn‘t look like much but for sure surprised me. Final shoutout to Pineapple on Pizza which is a ten minute f2p game with a wholesome ending

caut_R,

I agree so much on Forza 5, it‘s my first Forza and driving through the wasteland that is the part of Mexico they decided to largely use is… boring. Which is a shame cause the graphics, car selection, and driving is top tier. The Crew piqued my interest cause it‘s on Hawaii which sounds immediately more interesting lol, but I think it‘s overall a qualitatively worse game from the looks of it.

caut_R,

Darkest Dungeon with a buncha mods, shoutout to all the patient gamers out there

caut_R,

I really just can‘t tolerate how poorly it runs compared to how it looks. They‘d have to double the framerate somehow for me to buy it and that‘s pretty much impossible.

caut_R,

I am and I am using a DLSS mod and it‘s working. But getting to a stable 60 in Starfield is just… If it looked like Cyberpunk raytraced then I‘d get it, but it really does not look like it should be a heavy hitter. I smell technical failings.

caut_R,

I hope Digital Foundry does a review. I wanna see CPU utilization so badly, Paradox needs to learn to invest into CPU optimizations for their CPU heavy games

caut_R,

Paradox published games are so often great gameplay-wise but technically incompetent lol, wouldn‘t surprise me if it utilized like 2 CPU cores tops to simulate a whole metropolis

Tales of Arise and NFS Heat!

Oh, and Assassin‘s Creed Unity. Blows my mind how that game can still torture my modern PC

caut_R,

I‘m playing it in HDR and having a good time, just enjoying the spectacle, although the cops could be more loseable without ramps, I can see that annoy me towards the end of the game lol

caut_R,

Currently going around between Assassin‘s Creed Unity, NFS Heat, and Tales of Arise.

ACU sometimes feels like I‘m not in control (and stealth as such random) and the parkour controls do a lot of stuff I don‘t want it to, but the story‘s nice and Paris is beautiful to jump around in.

NFS Heat is also beautiful especially in HDR, the driving feels good enough. Biggest downside to me is the cop AI, if there‘s no ramp to jump off of, they keep rubberbanding back onto me and it‘s annoying. The map can also feel very empty.

Lastly, Tales of Arise. I love the characters and the story, but I‘ll never warm up to Tales‘ combat. It‘s the best iteration yet, just doesn‘t click with me. Says a lot about the characters and the story that I‘m going through regardless. Another nitpick is that cities could really use more dynamic. Lots of wax figures. Aside from that, it looks great (after a few ini tweaks) and runs great!

caut_R,

It‘s my current FPS game, it feels so polished and well thought out

I always thought Assassin‘s Creed should be more like Hitman where you really wanna avoid conflict, find an opening, and, well, assassinate your target. The farther the series went, the more it felt like Brawler‘s Creed where you just butt heads with half a dozen guards all too frequently.

More focus on assassination, planning, conflict avoidance, gadget usage, stealth, and no run-off-the-mill guards that follow you up buildings like olympic athletes, all of this in a historical setting with some illuminati BS spice and I‘d be super happy. But it‘s a lot to ask. Just some random, tired thoughts on my experience with the series.

Honestly, even with the meh scores, this entry interests me the most since Unity from what I’ve been hearing this far.

caut_R,

Tales of Arise cause I think I‘m out of exploration options in Hollow Knight and don‘t have the patience to overcome skill issue for the bosses that are next rn

What games can you recommend that didn't get the appreciation that they deserved?

I’ve been recently been thinking about Arkane Studio’s Prey which is a immersive sim, with a pretty good rogue like dlc, that probably has one of the strongest hooks of any game I’ve played. If you liked Halflife, System Shock, or Deus Ex it’s definitely worth a play....

caut_R,

N64 Timesplitters, had tons of fun with friends in that

caut_R,

I‘ve never had a Gamecube so it was probably PS2, it‘s been a hot minute lol

caut_R,

Playing a buncha old-but-gold games:

I was never one for Skyrim, the jank was just too much to get immersed and the graphics too low end to be impressed. 450 mods later, I‘m fully immersed and impressed (runs better (fact) and looks better (subjective) than Starfield now IMO) and playing the heck out of it.

On the go, Hollow Knight has at last pulled me in on Switch. Finally finding the dash and wall climb abilities made the game a blast. Mario 3D World helps to counterweight Hollow Knight‘s melancholy.

I took the „facelift“ collection as a basis a long, long time ago but added a lot of mods myself and I‘m not sure how many - if any at all - mods of this collection are left by now.

(I mean „left“ as in „still left in my own mod setup“)

caut_R,

The thing that made me reconsider buying one is the screen. Make an OLED version and I‘m gonna get one. I‘m not worried about the performance, I‘d get a deck for stuff like Dead Cells and Spelunky, not for stuff like Cyberpunk.

If they made an OLED version and offered replacement screens for burn-in cases in x years, that‘d be absolutely amazing.

caut_R,

The weapon breaking is annoying, even in TotK still. It‘d be more bearable if you could at least repair broken stuff at a blacksmith or something, but as it is, I’m scared to lose my cool stuff to a buncha gremlins. So I‘m hoarding the good stuff and cope with poor throw-away weapons…

It‘s a bit like the „elixiers“ situation in old FF games: Game‘s over and you have 22 unused elixiers you saved for when you really need them.

caut_R,

Surely they won‘t try to sneakily ramp up to their original goal and beyond now. „Sorry, we made it too obvious, we‘ll do it better next time.“

caut_R,

I absolutely loved Pokemon USUM‘s OST and was heartbroken when I found out the OST release was just like 1 minute long tracks that you couldn‘t easily loop (obviously it looped infinitely ingame)

caut_R,

I‘m legit happy as long as it can do 720p60fps for stuff like TotK in portable without any upsampling and whatnot.

I‘m not playing Nintendo cause of cutting edge graphics but because of cutting edge gameplay and entertainment. Doesn‘t matter how realistic a game looks when Mario Odyssey runs laps around it in terms of the fun it provides.

Just… provide backwards compatability, please. And as a bonus I‘d love a way for „old“ games to get better resolution and fps ideally without patches (cause we know the majority of games would never get patched).

caut_R,

I felt the same until I modded the shite out of Skyrim this year and now my mod list hit critical mass and I‘m having an absolute blast with it. Starfield runs worse and looks worse for me so that game needs some time in the patch and mod oven before I dive into it… I‘m patient.

caut_R,

Please backwards compatible, please OLED, please enough power to 720p60fps everything natively (no upscaling, cause that sucks on such low res, Idm 4k upscaling).

1080p60fps on portable would be a dream but I‘m not that delusional.

I‘d also be hyped if they could offer joycons that make it usable for extended amounts of time in portable without destroying my hands or having to rely on third party cases.

caut_R, (edited )

It‘s insane how hours on end just disappear when playing that game

caut_R,

DiRT 5. It‘s an HDR spectacle but the driving itself feels god fucking awful, ngl lol

I just realized how incredible it is that we don't have toes growing out of our ears.

AFAIK it all boils down to the fact that during embryonal development our cells, which at that point were just a blob of undifferentiated autonomous chemical machines, somehow managed to unanimously agree upon the cardinal directions (up-down, left-right, front-back) for future development - and thanks to this, we don’t have...

caut_R,

Although I don‘t like the art style much, the gameplay is fantastic, and the atmosphere dense

caut_R,

There‘s some Bri‘ish in there too

caut_R,

I approve of your neat presentation

caut_R,

Looks like you could make an alarm go off if you use it „well“ enough lol
