Gosh, I am just so sorry to any and everyone who has had to endure the experience this character has clearly been through for years before this. It’s so deeply upsetting to think of the shame and trauma that many millions of people experience on a daily basis for something as rote and innocuous as a thought of attraction. I know that I am incredibly privileged to have never even considered this particular conduit for hurt, and my heart breaks for those who live with it each day. You deserve love, and you deserve it on your terms.

The point is that the whole thing should be designed differently. We should focus these spaces around people rather than cars. There probably wouldn’t even be roads there at all. Streets would be fewer and with more space between them, and they would be designed to defer to pedestrian traffic more often, rather than the other way around. Bus stops would be on those streets, and pedestrians would walk a distance away to board them, while moving through safe, walking-focused sidewalks and avenues on the way.
I don’t know why men get so defensive about this. Men over-sexualize women all the time, it’s not like I’m making this up. Just go through the posts on this community and there will be plenty where you know immediately that it was a man who drew it
Edit: changed “sub” to “community” - old habits die hard
I don’t know that I’d agree with that exactly - defensiveness is a shade of anger in my mind. But largely I was referencing the high number of downvotes for all of our comments, especially newnewaccount’s innocuous reply to mine. We seem to have struck a nerve
So much knee-jerk defensiveness. Y’all can disagree with me if you like, but to me it very much has the energy of people digging their heels in against the BLM message at first before later coming around - not from a place of bigotry, but rather not yet fully understanding the situation. I hope that eventually the people in this thread will understand that the ever-present over-sexualization of women is something that needs to be addressed, even in minor cases like this. Call me over-sensitive, call me a white knight, but just turn this point over in your mind a few times.
And perhaps look to the litany of posts in this community that represent women without sexual undertones
Edit: changed “sub” to “community” - old habits die hard
Thank you. I’m just trying to get people thinking about it so that there’s a little less ire each time they’re approached with this topic - and (hopefully) eventually see things from my side
Idk if you’re looking to fight or discuss in good faith, but in case it’s the latter, scroll through the posts in this community. There are hundreds of examples of women with normal shapes that aren’t sexualized.
I’m not saying “this artist should be in jail for what he’s done!!!”
But I am saying he added a little more sexuality than is entirely appropriate, and certainly more so than most female artists do.
I could be wrong, but I have a pretty strong feeling that the grand majority of people disagreeing with me are men, based on the mentality being displayed. I am of course open to being proven wrong by any women in this thread.
I know this is just a meme, but I’ll share something I recently learned since I find it fascinating.
The oceans started out as freshwater! Water evaporated from them, rained down as freshwater and formed into rivers and streams, and the process of flowing picked up trace amounts of salt from the ground and riverbeds. These rivers eventually dumped their ever-so-slightly salty water into the ocean. Then, the tiny tiny tiny bit salty ocean evaporated some pure water out, leaving less water - meaning the remaining water just got a little bit saltier in comparison. This process repeated for millions of years and those tiny increments resulted in the very salty oceans we have now.
Exactly! I almost said something to that effect but decided my comment was getting a little long. God just left figuring out science to all these nerds he created 😂
It’s extremely high in saturated fat and salt, and so should be eaten sparingly. That’s not to say it can’t be a part of a balanced diet, but even a small portion provides a huge chunk of your daily requirements for each of those two, as well as for calories.
Edit: Removed reference to dietary cholesterol, as this has little to no impact on health
I legitimately had never heard this in my life, and my dad is a doctor. Thank you for informing me and sending me down that particular discovery rabbit hole

Honestly, this is a fair response to an outrageously sensationalist headline. There is promise in this particular style of vaccine, and it deserves further research, but to claim it’s going to cure all these disorders is something so far from the current truth that it really verges on an outright lie.
Yours being in the negative is the whole reason I responded to it, actually. I was hoping my context could make people see that yours was the appropriate stance for those who aren’t hopelessly naive. Sorry it didn’t work!
This feels like an appropriate place to comment that passwords of that length are essentially uncrackable by modern standards and that you have no need for the pesky and easily forgettable special characters or numbers! Relevant xkcd.
Quick note on the comic - dictionary attacks are possible now, so four plaintext words is not enough without special characters, but 10, like your example, is more than enough :)
