Ok, Evernote committed hara-kiri, so time to move on. (no way I’ll pay for ransomware) Any tips for good alternatives for Linux/Android platform? My wife used Nimbus note a while back, recovered her account there, ColorNote pops up when looking for alternatives as well....
I use syncthing to sync files across my Linux and Android devices. With that, I use Joplin for notes and syncthing keeps them synced between my computers and phone.
I have a TrueNAS server at home and thought I could easily connect it to my phone (Pixel 7) as a network drive but was surprised to learn that Android doesn’t have a built in feature for that....
2020 was… truly unique. It was so hard to stay away from doom scrolling, and I (and many others) were pretty disillusioned by the sad fact that so much of our country legitimately supported the Orange Man. I didn’t get a wink of sleep the night of the election because I genuinely considered it to be a make or break decision...
What killed it, well after reviewing some PS4 gameplay I noticed that it was having audio issues, like it would allow some sounds but not all. It was almost as if it was receiving a 5.1 audio output but was missing the centre channel. Even though the PS4 was set to stereo....
A dash cam was definitely one of the best purchases I’ve made. I was able to submit video to the insurance company to show a collision wasn’t my fault. It has also captured some other random interesting events like an electrical transformer explosion during a storm.
No, they still have the alert slider. It wasn’t on the OnePlus 10, but they brought it back on the 11 and it looks like it will be included on the upcoming 12.
I use my Windows work laptop as my personal laptop by booting Ubuntu off an external SSD. It is connected through the laptop’s thunderbolt USB C port, and Ubuntu runs smoothly without any issues as if it were off the internal drive. And not the most elegant solution, but I have Velcro strips on the drive and laptop, so to transform from work computer to personal, I just stick the drive on, plug it in, and boot up Linux! And the best part is that because it’s a completely different drive, there are no personal files/data actually saved on the work computer.
I've been using Opera for a few years now and I've been enjoying its features, UI and everything. However, I (surprisingly to me) haven't noticed many people mentioning it. Also, when I was on Reddit and mentioned that I use it I got downvoted which left me somewhat confused haha....
For me, it’s sticking my hand out of the window of a moving car. Whether I’m driving or not, I love having the windows down and waving my hand in the wind. I’ve loved it since I was a child and I’ll never stop doing it!
So I'm in the process of switching from Spotify to Tidal for my music streaming (since Tidal pays artists like three times more than Spotify does). The only problem is, Tidal doesn't support podcasts, which is another big thing I used Spotify for....
I used the paid version of BeyondPod for many years, but it doesn't seem to be supported anymore. The last update was January 2021, and it doesn't play well with newer versions of android.
I finally switched to AntennaPod and it has been such a better experience.
