Because this won’t give MS a monopoly in the slightest. There’s still tons of Devs and publisher’s out there on various states of first, second and third party relationships with MS, Sony and Nintendo and new indie Devs pop up almost weekly. It gives them a massive advantage having CoD as a first party Gamepass title, yes, but that’s not what a monopoly means.
All three of them that actually get any focus under ABK at the moment? If anything we might get to see some of the ones usually ignored have a day in the sun if MS wants to diversify their Gamepass offerings. We may get that Tony Hawk’s 3&4 remake rather than Volition being thrown in the CoD mines, a Crash or Spyro game with Rares involvement, etc.
I mean, I’ve not been particularly disappointed at how Disney has handled the Fox properties. They’ve had some duds with the Star Wars and Marvel lines, but the stuff that’s come to D+ under the Fox banner, Solar Opposites, all the Simpsons, new Futurama, films like Banshees of Inershirin, Prey, No One Will Save You, etc have all been pretty good.
Played about an hour and a half last night. It seems essentially a glorified Trek themed Stellaris expansion. Which given it was only £25 quid I don’t mind too much.
They’re not made for people like us who have been veggie or vegan for years and have learned to cook with pulses, legumes, etc. They’re designed for people who want to cut back or give up meat but have to break the cultural training that every meal needs meat. Also they allow casual food places that don’t have professional chefs like pubs, cafes, etc to have quick and easy veggie options on the menu.
This is what people don’t get, if you’ve been veggie for years then you don’t need meat substitutes, these products are for normies trying to cut back or give up while they break the cultural training.
Thought I would make a discussion thread for the new game since I didn’t see one up. I haven’t picked it up yet, was planning on getting it this weekend. I’m curious what any Trekkies who’ve also played Stellaris think of it. Is it worth getting?

It’s only £25 and if it’s successful then it shows Paramount there’s a market for Trek games beyond the mobile pap we got for years. Same with Resurgence earlier in the year.
Children didn’t vote for the Nazis in the 1930s either but they still died when we bombed German cities. Children die in wars, it’s an unfortunate fact, and Hamas just declared war on their neighbours.
Kids in Germany in the 40s experienced bombing, and went on to form the European community with countries that were responsible for said bombing and acknowledged their country was in the wrong for voting in the Nazis. Why can’t Palestinian kids have the same emotional realisation?
The Nazis played on Germans agrievement over how they were treated post WW1 to gain support, Gaza only ended up on the situation it is now because surrounding countries kept attacking Isreal over the last 70 years and lost land to them, then Hamas/the PLO/etc have played on similar agrievements to get themselves into the leadership position and have now lead them into a war.
Like it or not, Hamas are the defacto leader of Gaza, voted for in 2006. You can make all sorts of arguments about what’s happened after that, but if the people of Gaza have made no attempt to remove them from leadership since then this is the outcome.
There’s a huge difference between an official declaration of war and warning civilians and sneaking in in early morning and killing them in their beds isn’t there?
Was going to say this meme is being used the wrong way around. It should be Rick Berman suggesting sexy Borg and Moore suggesting actually capitalising on the concept of the show then being yeeted.
They can try and pin it on the CEO, but anyone with any sense knows he’s a patsy for the board and investors who just want to up their cuts so no one can have any faith they won’t do similar again under a new CEO.
It is worrying how reliant on Unreal the industry is getting with even companies who had their own propriety engines moving over. Gives epic a bit too much control.
Look at what’s happened to the counties that did see influxes of Palestinians in the last century. Everytime it’s ended up with them kicking off more conflict in their host nations. Even the small disporia in the western world couldn’t help themselves but go out and celebrate these attacks and make antisemitic spectacles themselves. Why would anyone want them?
How is the production on almost every DCEU film such a shitshow behind the scenes. We had all the Justice League stuff, The Rock throwing his weight around and cratering Back Adams chances and now this.
Samsung has released a new video in support of Google’s #GetTheMessage campaign which calls for Apple to adopt RCS or “Rich Communication Services,” the cross-platform protocol pitched as a successor to SMS that adopts many of the features found in modern messaging apps… like Apple’s own iMessage.
It’s entirely a US issue. Everywhere else just uses platform agnostic apps like WhatsApp, telegram, signal, etc to get round the issue. Americans hitch their wagons to a corporate manufacturer like an identity and then moan about people who buy the other brand having different coloured text message bubbles.
One of the most aggravating things to me in this world has to be the absolutely rampant anti-intellectualism that dominates so many conversations and debates, and its influence just seems to be expanding. Do you think there will ever actually be a time when this ends? I'd hope so once people become more educated and cultural...
It’s an unfortunate side effect of an unequal society where people feel left behind and then see a lot of people who had the advantage and privilege to go though years of education lecturing them on how to live. This breeds resentment and makes them targets for movements and groups that oppose these ideas.
It seems like it’s sticking around this time, but will take a few more gens to become a mainstream product with appeal to people beyond tech nerds.
The problem with previous vr is that the compent parts weren’t ready to combine into a good experience. Computers couldn’t produce realistic enough graphics at the 90+FPS needed for smooth gameplay, screens didn’t have the resolution and colour depth to recreate the real world, the processing units made the headsets huge and bulky.
This time it started at a decent base experience and has been getting better since, a few more gens for it to become easy and quick to use and it will pick right up.
You’re going to see more and more of this all over Europe. Nearly half a billion people have seen their quality of life drop in the last decade or so from the post 2008 austerity to the current post Covid inflation with governments seeming powerless to make anything better anymore, seeing their government then allow tons of new people in who need assistance, whether you understand their plight or not, rubs people the wrong way.
I know theres the argument that there’s plenty of money in the system to help all these people if it wasn’t being horded at the top bymillionaires and billionaires, but how we access that money is very complex and abstract and requires global cooperation that isn’t going to happen any time soon.
With countries pulling back on climate policies meaning climate change will continue to pick up leading to mass migration from no longer habitable equatorial areas, I fully expect to see guns on the beaches of the Mediterranean in my life time to push boats back.
I know it’s a horrible view of the future, but I don’t see anyone trying to find other solutions.
The best Star Trek song is First Contact by Swamp Thing, I doubt Cudi will be able to pack as many references into his bars as they managed in that track.
Same here, I was there day one watching legally when it was on Amazon, then they pulled the rug out from under me at the last moment, so now it gets torrented. Sorry Mike, blame your managers mate.
Yeah, that’s the irritating thing about P+, they think they’re worth the same as D+ a month with only one big franchise to their name. D+ brought together Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Fox content before launching.
It’s like someone made a Star Trek parody for Adult Swim in the mid 2000s and it somehow got left on the shelf for seventeen years before being recently discovered. That whole, take old cartoon footage and redub it was huge back then.
