Longmactoppedup,

Same.

I use simple calendar widget’s agenda and monthly planner. Glad to hear they are being forked.

Longmactoppedup, (edited )

That’s why we call those type of “bike lanes” a murder strip.

Have them where I live too.

Longmactoppedup,

Same. Not sure what happened there. Have replaced with it’s lat long.

Longmactoppedup,

Last non-android was a Nokia 95-4. Was still fairly smart though. In fact if I recall it had a lot more functionality than the iPhone 3g that my gf had at the same time.

Last non smart was probably the Nokia 7250.

Longmactoppedup,

I’ve given Neo a shot. Hasn’t got as many features sadly. The main one I miss is infinite scroll through home screens.

Longmactoppedup,

Have just signed up to give it a shot.

Silly question, but is there a way to create an event and invite people from an Android app? (Like outlook)

I’ve currently got k9, davx5. and simple calendar installed.

I created a test event in simple calendar and included my other email addresses in the attendees section. However no invite has been sent by they looks. I checked the posteo webmail page and I can see the event has been synced, but with no one invited.

Longmactoppedup,

I hope they can marry IMAP and Caldav together in one app that can handle event invitations.

Not sure that I can live without that ability for my use case.

Guessing other providers with caldav will have the same issue for the time being.

Longmactoppedup,

I have started trialling mega. 20GB free.

So far so good.

One minor annoyance I have had is keepass .kdb files. You can’t just open from mega android, make changes and have it auto save back to the cloud. Have to save out, edit then share back in. There is a autosync app by a third party which I have not tried.

Longmactoppedup,

They don’t even provide refunds for purchases where the developer has cut support, degraded the app or removed the app from the store altogether.

Longmactoppedup,

I’ve tried a few times in the past but always come crawling back to windows for gaming.

Last time it was terrible performance in TF2 that did it, this was after battling against fstab, drivers for my sound card and GPU. Oh and USB drives also refused to work.

Next PC build I’ll give dual booting another shot. Will certainly try to get hardware that others have reported as working.

I still run Ubuntu with Kodi on my HTPC and that’s usually good.

Longmactoppedup,

I’ll be very surprised if our govt does anything positive when it comes to digital rights. The current shower of arseholes in government supported the previous even bigger shower of arseholes to pass diabolical legislation like data retention and assistance and access bills.

Why are YouTube comments so much different than any other comments made online

YouTube comment sections are weirdly positive always. It could be a video of some horrible crime and the comments will be about how great the channel is and encouraging the channel to keep making more videos. When j visit actual fan pages anywhere else online there are always a mix of opinions. But youtube is constantly full of...

Longmactoppedup,

The YouTube music algorithm is a pile of shit. It always wants to lead you to more well known stuff. It’s like you are only ever as few related tracks away from top 50 pop.

Longmactoppedup,

That sounds better than an xlookup.

Looking for a better HTPC setup

Hey all! I’m planning on redoing my setup on my PC hooked up to my TV. What I have now works, but I want something a little more streamlined. I mainly use it for watching videos on Piped (YouTube frontend) and tv/movies in Jellyfin, but I recently set up Sunshine/Moonlight for game streaming, and my current setup doesn’t...

Longmactoppedup,

I have one of those keyboards too. The track pad on it is way better than others I have tried.

For controlling kodi though I mostly use Kore from a phone.

Longmactoppedup,

The MaddAddam Series by Margaret Atwood.

  1. Oryx and Crake
  2. The year of the flood
  3. Maddaddam
Longmactoppedup,

I muted mine years ago after it wouldn’t stop referring to roads by numbering systems instead of the actual names on the signs.

Longmactoppedup,

As long as you don’t post anything that musk disagrees with on x / twatter you should be safe.

Longmactoppedup,

Afterwards did you search for your username + site:reddit.com ?

I found power delete only did most of the comments. I think can only see the top 1000 of each sort method.

Longmactoppedup,

Partner has the z flip4 and is very happy with it.

Although the folding mechanism on the first one seized up. When it was forced open, the pixels on the crease turned off.

Took it back to the retailer and they swapped it on the spot. They were out of 256GB versions, so they provided the 512GB one instead. As the price of them had dropped a lot since purchase, the store gave $250 cash back for the difference.

Longmactoppedup,

Freedom isn’t free but this update is - you’re welcome.

Longmactoppedup,

Can you please link to where you got that fork with gestures?

Longmactoppedup,

I thought I read that his original intent was for the breakdown to be less detailed so as to obfuscate the true nature of welfare payments. Then some cheeky ATO staff delivered the more detailed version.

Do you use the swipe to type feature on your phone? (kbin.social)

Is this how most people type on mobile these days, drawing lines all over a keyboard instead of tapping the individual keys? I've never had an iPhone so I don't even know if they can do this natively, but I know you can switch keyboards at least, so it should still be an option if not.

Longmactoppedup,

Yes since when ever Swype was released.

When I got a pixel 7 pro, I was very sad to find out Swype dragon had been discontinued. The APK are still around, but I’m not sure I’m ready to root and or put a custom OS my pixel yet to get it installed.

I’ve been going back and forward between gboard and swift key. Both are orders of magnitude worse than Swype was at recognising traces for longer words. Blows my mind how Google and Microsoft still can’t build something as good as decade old Swype.

Longmactoppedup,

I think so. I tried to install a few different versions and got errors saying it wasn’t able to be installed. Assume Swype was a 32 bit app, which you can’t install on pixel 7 without doing away with the stock Android.
