Ilflish,

It’s the newspaper that is off-putting

How often do you use "AI" to reply to your messages, if at all?

The recent chat bot advances have pretty much changed my life. I used to get anxiety by receiving mails and IMs, sometimes even from friends. I lost friendships over not replying. My main issue being that I am sometimes get completely stuck in a loop of how to formulate things in the best way to the point of just abandoning the...

Ilflish,

There’s a sidequest in Like A Dragon Gaiden that literally mocks the danger of using AI to do this. I don’t know your position but I’m sure your friends aren’t gonna mind if you just send them a sentence response.

I’ve found in my life the more I think about how I should reply the more likely I am to say something they dislike, I’ll overthink and add something that infers I’m not talking about X. And the reply will come back “If you aren’t talking about X, why did you bring it up?”

Ilflish,

The benefit of homebrew. None of these need to be considered an actual restriction by the PC. Where X is the disability

  • Paladin: Oath of Restriction: You lose X in favour of your patrons
  • Warlock: Any pact: Patron takes X and wishes to see how you fair in life
  • Sorcerer: Any: Born with X but also born with innate magic powers

All of these have a reason to have a special Counter Remove Curse item.

A more general idea, cursed heart causes X but if curse is removed host dies.

I guess a fucker could still steal the homebrew item but if you’re doing that much to negate it that’s a player problem. No reason an enemy would attempt to remove a PC curse unless the knew the affects of the last one.

The other obvious choice is to play it like real life and refuse the help because its part of your identity

Ilflish,

The classic, “Zanzibart, I’ve failed you” and now the party is wondering who the frig that is and his connection to BBEG

Ilflish,

I’ve been describing AW2 as my subjective GotY. If you don’t like the story telling or if you hate cutscenes in general, it offers very little, otherwise it really is a narrative experience like no other. BG3 is technically a revolution for CRPG but it’s easy for me to imagine (and have seen) people get bored or the content

Ilflish,

I don’t think Yakuza is likely. One just came out and Yakuza 8 is coming out very soon. My guess is probably one of their Atlus games

Ilflish,

There’s a bit of bias here, they may have promised the world but they actually warned people it was going to have some issues on release, so it’s not like hardcore preorders were blindsided if they were following it

Warning signs

Ilflish,

I’m surprised how normal this looks. I’ve been avoiding a lot of AAA games in favour of games that feel more appropriate for handhelds.

I can’t imagine wanting to play Elden ring on my steam deck, feels more appropriate to play something like Marvel’s Midnight Suns as a maximum fidelity

Ilflish, (edited )

When they get to 5 they will likely remake the lost in nightmares DLC which starts in the mansion. Or it will be done before 5 to reuse in the DLC

At that point it would make financial sense to do it so it’s inevitable.

Ilflish, (edited )

“I heard you like smoking cheese. What an interesting hobby”

Lights up a cheese string. “You’re damn right!”

Ilflish,

I know it would be an oddity but intimidation has always been a saving throw. If the NPC can withstand the intimidation attempts feels a lot better then if a PC can successfully attempt to present an intimidation scenario

Ilflish,

Same value it’s just rather than sneezing part way through your intimidation or halving spinach in your teeth almost 50% of the time you attempt to intimidate, you just have people with mental fortitude not do be intimidated by your given scenario

Ilflish,

Didn’t multplie news sources corroborate Switch 2 being at Gamescom?

Ilflish,

It didn’t have much lead up in gaming norms. Announced at Summer Game Fest in June and released in late August. Couple of days before Armoured Core 6 if I remember correct.

Analysis from what is given

Anon wants to avoid relationships

Girl takes him to see her mom

My guess is she considered it a relationship and he thought they were fuck buddies and that didn’t go well. Anon being dumb isn’t new

Ilflish,

Realistically it can be good and bad. Like DOS2 but it was a perspective that I never vibed with. BG3 is a fresh viewpoint on a genre I’ve never truly got my mits into so my expectation for a DOS3 feels low, DOS2 with the perspective options of BG3.

That is until I remember that DOS2 is actually criminally good to pierce through my dislike of isometric viewpoint and keep me invested for so long

Ilflish,

Some of Warner Bros’ Biggest Games in recent years are:

  • Gotham Knights
  • Mortal Kombat 1
  • Multiversus
  • Suicide Squad

Yeah, that’s not a surprising statement

Ilflish,

Weirdly I have no problem with being left with people I’ve never met as long as I know someone and they introduce us. If a friend trusts us together, we can skip the awkward feeling out steps

Ilflish,

You can’t discredit the good market of PC gaming. Even if there was a pull towards it, it gained momentum due to luxury of PC gaming (basically Steam)

Ilflish, (edited )

I really hate to be that guy but I went from 10.5 to 8.5 hours average by regularly exercising. Hard to begin with since usually the issue is not enough time or being too tired but it is worth it. Took about 3 months or dailyish activity

Ilflish,

Forgot to add what I went to. It was 10.5 to 8.5 not 10 to 5

Ilflish,

The buzz around it grew when I was seeing a lot of pizza party’s which always ended up with 3 flavours being brought. Margherita, Pepperoni and Hawaiian. So I’ve always associated the movement being some secret groups’ lifeprotip to order Hawaiian do they can eat a bunch of pizza and it’s divisive. If your ordering for yourself go nuts. If your ordering for a group, there are plenty of more on-averagr enjoyable options

Ilflish,

It never produces heat. Until it does and my word does it. I’ve been getting the slack issues and display issues as well. Also found out today the provided calendar hasn’t actually been sending off my invite responses to anyone and got called in for not letting people know which meetings I was attending.

Ilflish,

We all have the same amount of time but not everyone can afford to spend money to maximize the time on what they desire

Ilflish,

I should probably add my own. They like plants

Ilflish,

Yeah, this is a strange situation. As far as I’m aware, skins would only be player-side so this shouldn’t be something like accidently showing a nude character, this would be some person bringing their own modded game and bystanders seeing it? Was this someone’s setup they forgot to un-mod or some dude who lost and set up some games on his own hardware?

Which YouTuber's voice can lull you to sleep?

I’ve exhausted things I can sleep to on Netflix, and it’s literally impossible to sleep to things on Prime (so I barely watch anything there; it’s not worth falling asleep to something I like, since I might be punished for it), so I’ve started putting on YouTube in the evenings since it won’t wake me with silence at...

Ilflish,

Northernlion, specifically his non-twitch content. I also enjoy his twitch content but he goes reaction mode for it and it’s not the same rhythm

Ilflish,

No I don’t remember that. I remember doing what I did before lockdown. Work.

Ilflish,

That game really only had the co-op distinct vision stuff and I think I pretty much hated the entire rest of the game.

Ilflish,

I’m about 13 hours in AW2 and it’s not a complication. This is one of the few easy choices to put up there. BG3, this and TotK even if it wasn’t my cup of tea. 3 last 3 have a bunch of choices but I would be very confused if AW was snubbed with some of the issues the other contenders have (RE4 is an exception to this, it’s risk is just that it’s a remake and now there is a concrete horror candidate)

Ilflish,

Not being playable is a bit extreme, it’s just boring and tedious, and steps back on its extreme design choices of the predecessor

Ilflish,

It’s always weed lovers who have to yuck someone else’s yum

Ilflish,

10 hours in and I’m loving it. I’m sure there will pure mechanic purists who hate and and those it might be too abstract for but this feels like purely a step up from control

How to get into the habit of cooking >1 portions?

I always cook for myself alone which means I’m used to cooking just one portion, or 2 portions which I end up eating in one sitting anyway. I usually improvise my meals and my brain just seems hardwired to measure quantities for a single portion meal. Does anyone have any tips for scailing your cooking up to cook for groups?

Ilflish,

I’m approaching this as a “stupid brain won’t do what I want” situation as I used to eat the double portion also. My work around was to cook out of sync to what I ate. This meant I didn’t need to worry about what I was eating “now” because everything I cooked was for later. So as an example, I would cook some chilli, but that day I would be eating some curry that was already sitting in the fridge. If you are wondering how to start the cycle, the simplest solution to avoid your cravings messing it up is to cook and then order takeout somewhere so you don’t eat it any of it.

It could be that the improvising is getting in the way. Does this mean you don’t know what to cook until you do?

Ilflish,

The opposite is also true. You created an engine already, why do you want a new one? Just add to the existing one. Starfield is not the only industry game working on legacy engines

Ilflish,

I always feel bad for TCG because the more you learn about them the less fun they are. I should be enjoying a variety of cards but instead I’m reducing the amount of luck and bad draws by just putting duplicates of every useful card to the max value I can

Ilflish,

Both great options I used to recommend. I’m sure you can try hard 100 card decks but I think at that point people are more willing to be annoyed at you for not having fun in such a format

Ilflish,

Confidence is difficult to build all of your life, not just as an adult. It wasn’t really a problem with “girls like” but more the “just don’t be insecure” connotations

Ilflish, (edited )

“We made 1 billion in profit!”

“However we updated our estimates half way through the year to match our early growth and we did not meet our expectations”

“We’ll have to let you go”

Ilflish,

Square feels like the most obvious choice due to their ties

Ilflish,

He can still salvage it if he’s honest and can laugh at himself

Ilflish,

Worked with a Japanese company has this and they refused to acknowledge anything as a bug if it didn’t get discussed in the spec. Oh, this new feature does not interact with the old feature well, just a limitation. Write that up as a new feature. It was killer trying to assign anything as a bug for this reason since you could only get them to fix stuff that explicitly contradicted their Japanese spec.

Ilflish,

While I argue your response is an equity Vs equality issue and your basketball argument kind of conflicts your previous statement, there is the the huge difference of individual cost per game to cater to a/all disability. As you mention automation of these systems aren’t really feasible and although guidelines can be put in place. They are still a significant investment of time and money. You can implement them into an engine but you still need the game to integrate it and although some things might be easy across multiple games (colour blind overlays) some won’t (mechanic driven considerations).

Ilflish,

Genuinely upset when they gave the goat a voice. He was so cute…
