Amazon is lowering the cost of a One Medical membership for Amazon Prime subscribers, shaving $100 off the annual fee to $99 a year. The step is the latest effort by the e-commerce company to mesh its chain of doctor’s offices with its retail services....
I agree. I work in IT and often get asked what the best phone is when someone is looking. I tell them to go to the store and play around with a number of phones for a while. The one they seem to like best or are drawn to more is the one they should get. It makes 0 difference to me what brand of phone/pc/diapers/whatever someone else uses.
Updates? No, but still runs like a champ. Even so, an OS from 7 years after its manufacture date is pretty good. My main point was against your “after 4 years” you need to buy a new Mac.
I got the same. My UPS guy didn’t deliver it until 6pm, so I got to spend the entire day just waiting… I looked like that meme of Pablo Escobar in Narcos
Yup, that’s actually the reason I checked out Avelon. Voyager is great, but it’ll be hard to keep up if it’s being worked on less. It’s too bad because it’s a great app! I certainly understand you can’t put too much into something you make no money from although I would pay for it at this point!
Took me about 15 minutes to get in on the app, then it kept erroring trying to load the preorder. Finally got through on the website and it loaded without issue.
It took me about 15 minutes to get in on the app, but it couldn’t load my info. 5 minutes later I finally got through on the website and ordered without issue. It was frustrating because it’s normally, like you said, only about 5 minutes.

A federal judge has blocked the state of Hawaii from enforcing a recently enacted ban on firearms on its prized beaches and in other areas including banks, bars and parks, citing last year’s landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling expanding gun rights.
I’m not trans, but I’d rather go where everyone might be armed. Just because everyone is supposed to not bring a gun somewhere doesn’t mean there won’t be someone that does- how many shootings in the US happen in “gun free zones”?
It’s 2023, why are websites actively preventing pasting into fields like passwords and credit card number boxes? I use a password manager for security, it’s recommended by my employer to use one, and it even avoids human error like accidentally fat-fingering keys, and best of all with the credit card number I don’t have to...
Google, Apple, and Microsoft are working on Passkeys. I don’t know the security behind it, but so far it’s been great for the few sites that support it.
My wife works in a restaurant, and the power-tripping manager has instituted a new policy where all shift changes must be approved by management. I think that is reasonable enough, but they’re also asking the originally-scheduled employee why they are switching shifts, then approving or denying based on the answer....
I’ve had this for as long as I can remember. Normally it’s with something like. It’s or snakes, but occasionally I’ll see a figure in the doorway, or think there something standing or floating by my bed.
It’s rather annoying, especially for my wife since I usually have to turn on the light fire my brain decides it’s ok.
This is exactly why I’m almost exclusively on All right now. If I only browsed my subscribed feed it would be, like you said, mostly dead.
I’m also using this as an opportunity to expand my horizons by trying communities I may not have seen or given a chance to on Reddit. It’s nice because overall Lemmy is a much nicer place to comment, so far, and I find myself being more willing to put my thoughts out there.
